Map will be at the same outline as Vice City or renewed like in Los Santos from V? (I'm highly recommend that second option give a fresh look into VC).

Russians are remaking original VC map, then when that's done, they expand it.
Personally, on Ocean Drive I added new buildings. For one, R* duplicated a lot of buildings, secondly they are almost all too wide (or generally out of scale) so it adds space to add more buildings.

The only thing that bugs me is that R* made Ocean Drive curved, all the roads are in an angle. While in real life, it's straight, no curves. It's quite annoying because the buildings don't line up nicely then.

I would agree it's a lot better to recreate Miami and not VC, but they are a small team and it's not very feasible to do soemthing like that, unpaid.

At least you're saying my screenshots are awesome, that's a start. Andrey started developing the docks area 1.5 years ago and they are still going on with a slightly bigger team. It's highly unlikely it will get cancelled in 2-3 months when they are already going for over a year.

I didn't think IV could look that good! That is some incredible work you did. If the rest of the map can't be completed, just release it as Grand Theft Auto: Ocean Drive! biggrin.gif

There is water. And I had the exact problem you just mentioned, emissive won't work underwater. So I moved the lamps above the water, problem solved. biggrin.gif

Permissionm for a map that isn't even his in the first place, more irony!

But G, the mod won't be shared till it's 'done'. Or at least, done enough for a public release. It's just not useful to release a chunk of the VC map with no missions or mini games or at least something to do.

The bit lower saturation makes the color scheme more "pastel", which fits well with the 80s/miami atmosphere IMO.







By the way, if this mod ever comes out, I may have to buy EFLC.

What I really want to see from this mod is a larger map. I want to see new areas and parts of Vice City not shown in the original. Sure far however I love it!

Out of curiosity, is there a chance you will move on to the GTA V engine when the game is available for PC?

 

It would create a better Vice City atmosphere with features like god rays and improved water effects. Also there wouldn't need to be too much ped work done as they are in high quality, and would fit in Vice City.
