They should drop the project and focus on creating new movies with new characters. If they absolutely must make a Han Solo something, they should make an animated movie or let someone make a video game.

darthYenik is absolutely right - Harrison Ford IS Han Solo.

Would have been better off focusing on an Obi Wan standalone. Ewan is still game.

Nah, they should do a film or series, preferably a Sitcom about Greedo, with Cornelius Evazen being the grouchy neighbour and Ponda Baba the bumbling comic relief character. The theme tune would obviously be Mad About Me performed by Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes.

I don't think "no one cares" about it is right. Maybe "we have no faith in another actor playing Han Solo" is a better description. At least, that's my feeling.

I care greatly about the Han Solo film...

I care because I am worried what they will do to the backstory of someone who is arguably one of the best characters in the SW universe.

On top of that as Yenik says, if it ain't Ford then it ain't Solo.

^Looks dope. "It's a wrap!" put a smile on my face.

Also, RLM just put out their ideas for how god awful the Han Solo movie will probably be and it's f*cking hilarious.

Now Colin Trevorrow out of the helm of Episode IX.

Kathleen Kennedy needs to get kicked out.

She's ruining Star Wars.

Kennedy is the only one I trust. Kennedy and Kasdan. She has produced so many amazing films. Her resumé can stand toe to toe with any producer in the film industry ever. It's a short list of the best movies of the last thirty years. And Kasdan is one of the only people left working on these movies who was there during the original trilogy.

I trust this is the right move. I never really trusted Trevorrow anyway. I didn't hate Jurassic World, and I love his enthusiasm, but he's too much of a fan boy maybe.

Bring in Spielberg for christ's sake. I know people have been down on him the last decade or so, but I think he can hit a Star Wars script out of the park.

Spielberg would be the best option for Episode 9, as he's got the history (with Lucas), experience and qualifications.  And if Episode 9 is to be the last installment of the main Star Wars story, then I think to make it go out with a bang, you'd need someone with the caliber of Spielberg to do it.

Although I get a feeling that they'll drag JJ Abrams back to do it.

I'm way out of the loop with almost all Star Wars news now, but has there been anymore word on a Boba Fett movie or TV show? I'm bored of Jedi, I want bounty hunters.

Last I read (can't remember where it was) they're not going to do a spin off film with Boba Fett, but the story didn't rule out anything like a series of some form.

couldn't agree more.

I'd rather see more prequels or extended universe content from the perspective of the 'bad guys.'

to be honest I really couldn't give a sh/t about young Han Solo or whatever the f/ck they're working on.

Bounty Hunters, pfft. What I really want is a serious Star Wars movie about the trade federation's rise and fall. And I want it chock full of bureaucratic dialog and information. I want to know exactly how the trade lanes were decided and for them to go through the entire chain of command.

Now that would be the cat's meow.

Something like Star Wars Wall Street. They could give cameos to Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas too

Oh god yes. Can you imagine all sorts of shady deals? Or a Sopranos kind of thing, or a Boardwalk Empire kind of thing. Imagine all the smuggling stories, the shady dealings, the politicians negotiating bribes, all the collateral damage from war profiteering. Oh man! And it should be a series. Called Coruscant. f*ck yes!

Only HBO could pull off something like that. And even then, very few writers.
