So guys, I'm new to Star Wars, I've never watched it. In which order should I watch the saga?
I -> II -> III -> IV -> V -> VI

:^:

IV, V, I, II, III, VI

The machete order without the cut. I think it's harsh.

Why would you watch the classics first?  That's like the opening act coming on after the headliner.

My (stupid) reasoning is: Because that's how they were made. Obviously I watched the classics long before Episode I came along, and that order just stuck with me over the years. I just prefer it that way.

Sounds about right. The biggest thing you miss out on with the cut is Liam Neeson. I would've said the Podrace was worth it until I realized that it's an homage to Ben-Hur. Being an homage doesn't kill it but... it incorporates the same sorts of "tricks"; the villain even loses the race in the same way. I mean I realize referencing past movies as a sign of appreciation but there comes a point when you're just making Frankenstein's monster with film clips.

The fact that anyone would watch episode II, and not episode I, is insane to me. Episode II is the worst of them all. If you're going to skip movie, skip I and II. Revenge of the Sith is great, don't care what anyone says.

PS, you also miss Darth Maul if you skip EP. I.

I just skip all the Anakin/Padme scenes in Ep II and watch Obi-Wan's story only.

Revenge of the Sith is my guilty pleasure. Sure, CGI, sure younglins, but that Order 66. That Palpatine.

Absolutely, Annie and Padme's scenes make me want to vomit.

That whole love story is so freakin cringeworthy.

Anakin: You are so... beautiful.
Padme: It's only because I'm so in love.
Anakin: No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
Padme: So love has blinded you?
Anakin: [laughs] Well, that's not exactly what I meant.
Padme: But it's probably true.

:/

WORST f*cking casting in movie history.

that kid cannot act for dick and the 2 of them had ZERO chemistry.

one of the biggest problems with the prequels was George Lucas personally selecting the lead actors.

The last 45 minutes was pretty much lightsaber porn.

Revenge of The Sith is fantastic for the most part. This is one of my favourite Star Wars segments - yes, even the cheesy dialogue. "TO DEMOCRACY!"

If you've never watched the series, you might want to find the Phantom Edit and Attack of the Phantom cuts. They're not available in HD quality, but the cuts he made drastically improve the movies. The problem is most fans don't watch those until after they've seen the originals. So it's hard to experience it like that the first time. I also really enjoyed the ADYWAN Episode IV cut.
