Simple idea to add a forum games board, it would be very fun.

I think he may mean actual forum games eg. San Andreas Guess the Mission, but for other things. I remember seeing one in Gen-chat called Guess the GTAF Member, he might want a board dedicated to things like that.

Ever way I doubt it will ever go ahead. If they added one board due to user request they'd be getting multiple requests for new subforums every week.

This has been suggested before; and was also rejected.

Yes, that topic was from over three years ago but I still don't think that the staff's opinion on this would of changed on this IMO, so I wouldn't expect a Forum Games subforum be added. Such subforums are a hotbed for spam anyway which is no doubt the main reason why the staff here don't approve of ideas such as this.

With that being said, there are many "themed forum games" topics which are located in in the appropriate subforums. For example, there is a "Rate The Signature Above You" topic in the Visual Arts subforum. There are also similar topics in the off topic subforums as well. smile.gif

^Can't they just block the posts, so when you post in the sub-section. you don't gain any posts. so spam would be fine *good spam not bad*

And what do we get with the spam? Spam is something nobody likes, and nobody needs.

Spam sections have been suggested before and it is not up for consideration. Spam is against the rules and having a section for spamming would contradict the forum rules, wouldn't it? As if this is not enough, it wouldn't help the forum or add anything to it because spammers are going to spam where they want and they would not go only to the spam section for it if they really want to mess up the forum.

Perhaps add actual games (flash games or something of that nature) to the forums. Where members can compete for highest score. Works well on other forums..

Disable post count in that board then.

I really like and agree with this suggestion. I old forums I was a member of for a few years had a section named "Forum Fun" and this was two of the more popular games they had.

The Chain Game

Starting from 1, you have to add one to the last posted number and keep going up in that sequence, posting one number at a time, until one of you reaches 10.
If one of you manages to reach 10, everybody in that chain wins and we start again. BUT! If any staff member (ex. Admin or Global Mod) posts here while you are
in the middle of a chain, it is broken and you all have to start again.

Never-ending Sentence

This is a word game, and the goal is to keep the sentence never-ending.

Example:

Player A: I
Player B: went
Player C: to
Player B: the
Player A: beach
Player C: and

People do this sh*t all the time on other forums, it won't be reddit spam or /b/ spam, just harmless fun spam. Idk why its such a problem.

If everyone you knew jumped off a bridge, would you do it too? No, of course not.

Just because other forums do it, doesn't mean we have to. If you want to engage in those activities, then go to those forums. There's already enough traffic at GTAForums and a ton of people posting spam and other useless crap. This place doesn't need to encourage that sort of behavior.

Well then if you want to play those games do it on the forums you mentioned. I don't ever see this idea being applied.

My bad man, reading your post it looked like you was trying to get your point across in a angry manner.

Well like I said before, I think it would be a pretty cool addition to the forums but yes the forums does already have enough topics and activities
to keep one occupied. I was just trying to show an example of simple forums games and what I thought dansgas1000 had in mind.

I understand that having a separate board for just topic games is abit pointless.. but I don't see a problem in having Tetris or something back. It's actually a great addition to have in keeping members and obtaining members. People have competitive natures, it will keep them playing to beat their old scores or scores of other users.

No harm in suggesting such things.. no need to be rude or judgmental towards a suggestion.

It's possible to have a "Fun Area" if post count was disabled, etc. I mean if people spammed and sh*t, the f*cking mods should just deal with it like how they do with the Off-topic section... It just shows they f*cking lazy

And this post shows what an idiot you are. Why would anyone in their right mind make a forum that allows spam that we know for sure would get out of control and then force mods to deal with that sh*t?

None of what is being suggested is going to happen in the near or distant future. If you want to play silly forum games, this is not the place for you.
