Pan's Labyrinth

QUOTE
Pan's Labyrinth (Spanish: El laberinto del fauno, "The Labyrinth of the faun") is a 2006 Spanish-language dark fantasy film[4][5] written and directed by Guillermo del Toro. It was produced and distributed by Esperanto Films.

Pan's Labyrinth takes place in Spain in MayJune 1944, five years after the Spanish Civil War, during the early Francoist period. The narrative of the film interweaves this real world with a mythical world centered around an overgrown abandoned labyrinth and a mysterious faun creature, with which the main character, Ofelia, interacts. Ofelia's stepfather, the Falangist Captain Vidal, hunts the Spanish Maquis who fight against the Francoist regime in the region, while Ofelia's pregnant mother grows increasingly ill. Ofelia meets several strange and magical creatures who become central to her story, leading her through the trials of the old labyrinth garden. The film employs make-up, Animatronics and CGI effects to bring life to its creatures.

6/10, it was alright but it was mostly just references and cinematic cuteness.

^7/10 I really enjoyed the visual aspect of the film when I saw it in 3D. The narration is really good as well, but the rest of the film uses a few cliches up and I dunno, it just was a little far fetched how some parts of it went (Yeah I know it was a film about blue skinned aliens on another planet, but as far as storytelling went ignoring the setting it was a little lame/far fetched/ cliche as hell.

Anyway, classic B grade film, if you haven't seen it I have a backup film.

Here's the backup in case you haven't seen the first one.

6/10 - it had its moments, but overall I think it was a pretty disappointing prequel to the brilliant Alien franchise.

9/10.

Such a brilliant, clever movie. The teaming up was just perfect, yet the ending left much to be desired. Can't wait for District 10.

6/10 - Not bad for a cult film but I wasn't diggin' Hauer as the lead.

I think I will give Casino a 9/10. It's a great movie and personally I like it more than Goodfellas but sometimes I feel they have too many similarities.
