In this topic you can report crashes and other bugs you encounter while using DYOM.

There are three mayor types of crashes:
  1. Crashes that occur as soon as you start SA/DYOM.
  2. Crashes that occur during designing a mission.
  3. Crashes that occur during playing a mission.
I'll try to describe shortly what is the best way to handle them:

Crashes that occur as soon as you start SA/DYOM
These are almost always related to incorrect CLEO installation.
- CLEO is not installled at all.
- CLEO is improperly installed.
- The .exe you have is not compatible with CLEO ( see here for a link to a compatible version).

Crashes that occur during designing a mission.
- Do you have other mods installed, that might conflict with DYOM?
- Try to disable CLEO scripts that are active.
- Report the problem in this thread, with as much detail about the moment the crash occurs. What was the state of your mission, and at exactly what moment did it crash? Be as detailed as possible, so instead of reporting that it crashes while adding an actor, it is even better to report that the crash occured right after you pressed <space> while selecting a RPG as the weapon for an actor.
- if possible include scmlog.txt in your report, if you have the scmlog CLEO plug-in installed. (recommended)

Crashes that occur during playing a mission
- Report the problem in this thread, provide a link to the mission-file that you played, and try to describe as accurate as possible the circumstances of the crash.

We want DYOM to be crash free, and will always try to fix any problems. But we can only fix problems if we can reproduce the problem or if the description of the problem is good enough. This will enable us to get a clue about the location of the bug in our code and we don't have to search in all the 20.000+ lines of scm-code that we have written sofar for this mod.

I got one:

Tools > Teleport to Objective > press f > Equals = Falling from no where up high Again

I got one, I don't know it's a bug or not.

When I reach between 8 - 12 objective, game crashes sad.gif

I never found this crash at BETA release but i found in this version:

It would be very helpful if you include a link to a crashing missionfile in your report.
(you can logout of the DYOM site, and upload it to the dumping grounds, if you don't want it under your name.)

On the route thing:
We did try very hard, but we've never been able to reproduce the "crash at end of route" bug. We did however find some
code in that area that wasn't completely safe, so we figured that would have caused it. But apparently it's still present.

I installed CLEO v4.1 and tried to play other mission. No errors smile.gif

I don't why this happening >> I play my own mission with 9 objectives. When I reach objective 8, game crash but when I play a mission with 64 objectives I finished it without crashing. My GTASA is crazy facedesk.gif

I got the same error, but it really sucks if we have to use loop routes. We need it fixed.

It seems my game crashes while playing this mission. I've tried a lot to make sure this is not a CLEO or SA bug. I reinstalled SA, and CLEO 3. But it still crashes. I've played some other missions and none of them crashed, only this one does. It's a mission I started to design in v6.1 and now I deleted an objective, and changed a cutscene to 'Follow Actor' this crash keeps happening. I don't think it's because the file is corrupt or anything, because I can still load it. But I'd appreciate it if someone could answer why this happens.

It turns out that the crash at objective 8 for you was due to "crash at end of route bug" that others reported also, but that we've been unable to reproduce. With your file I'm finally able to reproduce it, so there should be a fix shortly smile.gif

A minor bug i found: The marker for checkpoint is not real-blue but still lightblue
As described on the beta v2 release feature, it can be real-blue.

There is a bug with the "text saving whan editing" feature. Lets say there is a mission in 1 slot, you create another mission in 1 slot, now whan you want to make objective, the text from the other mission persists.

This should fix he crash at the end of a route.

@ThaBoy: with this version, your mission didn't crash for me. Could you verify ?

@Yezz007: "real blue", only works for markers on actors and cars, if I recall correctly. (engine limitation)

DYOM V7.1 Bug:

Everytime I try to place the object: 'fire' my game crashes. Sometimes with error message sometimes without.. confused.gif

DYOM v7.0.1 Bug:

When I select an objective using 'Select Objective' under the 'Objectives' tab, then I try to add another objective, my mission crashes. More specifically, I try to add 'No Peds/Cars' after the first objective. However, this happens with every objective I select. When I add the objective without selecting another, it works perfectly.

Are you sure you have a exe file that is compatible with CLEO ?
Please try the one that was suggested to you in the other topic.

@KiD5791: Has been reported before during beta, but we haven't been able to reproduce it.
When exactly does it crash? what was the last thing you saw/key you pressed before the crash ?

Hello!

When I play my storyline first time, there's no sounds playing from SD folder. But when I restart DYOM(ESC->New Game->New game->Design Your Own Mission) sounds are playing...
