Hi,

Merry Christmas.

Just got the GTA IV complete edition for Christmas (box) but I have a problem:

I install the game, and it's fine. I try to launch the game and sometimes it'll either just open up a small black screen then close again, leaving me with nothing, or it'll just pop up with "SecuLauncher failed to start application [2000]". Now, I am using Windows 8 but I don't think that's the problem as I've read around on the internet and on this forum that people with Windows 8 can play fine.

I have:

- Tried to delete and reinstall Microsoft C + + 2005
Update to latest patch
Update Framework net 3.5 / 4
Update drivers
Run as administrator / compatibility with Windows XP Service Pack 2, etc.
Installed and updated Games for Windows Live

Please help!

My specs:

Windows 8 Pro, 64-bit
Intel® Core™ i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40GHz
8.00 GB installed memory (RAM)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670
2.0 TB

Thanks, I want to play this game so badly!

Do EXACTLY everything it tells you here: http://www.xtremesys...-GTAIV-PC-Error.

Its talking more about Vista, but 8 is the same.

ALSO run it in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Not XP.

I installed the C + +, clicked "play" on the game and it still comes up with the same "2000" error.

EDITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT:

Wait, the Windows 7 compatibility fixed it, THANKS, been trying all day, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!
