Although I have NO idea why, most of you people have a king kong sized erection for Trevor. Personally I find him crude and the textbook definition of "pandering to the lowest common denominator" (yes im a Michael fan) but in an effort to openly mock you and understand your unholy attraction to this character I have started this travesty of a thread. Now we can put all the Trevor lovin in one place! Yay us!

BTW my theory on why so many of you INCREDIBLY intelligent people like him so much is because you secretly wish you were a rude, drug addicted pyromaniacle psychopath in real life and (HUZZAH!) now you can live out the fantasy!!

I agree with you Trevor is repulsive from what we've seen so far. A loud mouth hillbilly loser that lives in a trailer. A guy like Micheal shouldn't give scum like that the time of day but somehow this is his best mate. But we don't really know him well. We may all grow to love him.

this. and I prefer to live in the sticks than a perfectly clean new, manicured lawn, gadget lovin, expensive place. throughout all the GTAs- heck before i played gta I played DRIVER 1 and 2. I always prefered the old cars. gta 3 I always drove the esperanto and the rumpo.
I cannot wait to get my filthy, gritty hands on these "new" old cars! they look so great! and then driving down all the dirt roads getting them all dirty. man this is gonna be a sweet game.

TLDR old cars, sh*tty house= cheaper lifestyle

Not me. My inner demon is more cruel. I believe Trevor is more of a "flash in the pan" demon if you know what I mean.

Trevor demon: "Im gotta set you on fire and then kill you!"

My demon: "Hell is only a word. The reality of it is much worse than anything you can possibly imagine. Let me show you."

Going by "I <3 Trevor:" "It's a Redneck Lovefest" Posted by Los Santos County Sheriff, all the Vinewood screenshots started making sense! The cops weren't there to kill Trevor, they were escorting the County Sheriff to top of the Vinewood sign For some good old fashioned sodomy!

Can I ask what makes Trevor a redneck/hillbilly? In the trailer he sounds nothing like a typical redneck/hillbilly. Jonah from RDR has more of a Southern slur.

Trevor is always pissed at something. if you have ever been pissed off you can relate to him. He is the 'f*ck all' character.

He is the classic gta player, thats why. Trevor is the character that would never have made it in gta if there was only 1 character. Its easy to relate to him because he does what most gta players do or want to do in the game.

Yep, I remeber when one day before GI release, a pic from a magazine got leaked showing, "that redneck from the quad artwork" on a jet ski, nobody wanted to play with him, no he's the favoured character, he has more topics than the other two protags.

False, although Trevor seems like an awesome character, i would prefer Michaels more sophisticated style.
That is my opinion.

I agree, why is it like this?

Here is a question for people who call Trevor Hillbilly\Redneck:
If somebody is poor and does not have a home but a trailer does that make him Hillbilly?

I find it funny that before the November information blowout and trailer #2 the majority seemed to hate Trevor and referred to him as scumbag, child molester and other derogatory names. Now he seems to be the most popular of the three.

I can relate to Trevor. I'm older than probably 95% of you and I've lived a difficult, soul-stealing life.
drink, drugs, strife, tragedy... I've seen it and done it.
Trevor is the closest thing to me that I've seen, in digital form. except for the fact that I'm not living a loser life.

I've lived in all the above and can tell you that mobile homes are far better than appartments. You have land and privacy and plenty of room in a mobile home, unlike an appartment. I know a lot of good people who live in mobile homes, who make decent money and have nice things. I never understood the racist stereotype about people who live in trailers. It's all B.S.. I know where there's a trailer park with nothing but black folk who live in it, strange, I know, but it's true!
The first place that I ever bought was a mobile home and I payed 70,000 dollars for it. After financing, it was well over 100,000 thousand bucks. Then later, I bought a bunch of land and built the home that I always wanted. Still, there's nothing wrong with living in a trailer, no matter what the uppity a$$holes think, however, there are some rough areas that do look bad and all that, but you can never judge a book by it's cover.

IMO, As far as Trevor goes, I'll take a redneck over a yuppie anyday of the week. Rednecks are smarter, and damn sure bad a$$er than a city boy yuppie. This is the opinion of many. But hey, whatever floats your boat. If you like ghetto-style negro's, then cool! If you like city boys, then cool! If you like mexican-jewish midget-ninja's, then hey! Gitr done. That's the good thing about 3 protag's; Everybody has a choice now....well, most people, anyways.

Oh, and for the record: You cannot be a hillbilly if you are not from the Appalachias! There's southern folk, then there's redneck hillbilly folk, preferrably called Mountaineers. There's 'Country folk' in every state, but all are similar. The south was born in the Appalachias, W.Va in 1708, while the south was still french quarter. The term 'redneck' was coined in W.va., BTW. Then, it spread south. People in the Appalachias don't even consider people from say, Lousiana, 'southern'. They are still seen as frenchmen. From the Appalachias, the south goes no farther than S.C., TN., Ky., W.Va.. That's the south. Not Mississippi or N'orleans.

In reply to the OP.

Michael is my fav, right now. However the appeal in Trevor is quite apparent and obvious to most. Trevor seems to posses a lawlessness and anti-establisment persona where we, the gamers can excercise our schadenfreude through him.

He deals in drugs. He's violent. He's an ex-pilot and served in Vietnam. He seems balls-to-wall hard. From what we can see so far, he doesn't seem like he has much of a moral compass as say Niko had. Therefore when you are on your rampages, killing many people and cops, it seems normal for the character you are playing to be in such a situation.

He's an anti-hero. He's GTA. He's this gens' Tommy Vercetti.

Now OP, can you understand that? Does it give you a little more insight as to why people like him?

He's not my favourite but even I can understand that.

I keep thinking Trevor could be the drug kingpin of Blaine County. I hope they bring back the drug dealing mini game from CTW. Would be cool to actually cook meth in an RV in the desert, then sell it. cool.gif

Think your right about that and his first lines in the trailer make it even more likely, maybe the three guys watching Trevor kick that guys ass are his dealers or whatever.
