I sure hope R*will switch the car controls to unrealistic levels. That's what made me stop playing IV. The car controls were too realistic and in an urban environment it was hard to keep it fast without hitting something. But with the game back in Los Santos it won't be as urban. But who thinks the controls will be new or the same?

I loved the controls, besides the little floatyness. But it was confirmed that the cars will stick a little better to the ground now.
If they change it to an unrealistic level they would pretty much ruin GTA.

By unrealistic I meant back to or closer to the controls of SA.
But at least we have heard something about the controls, that's good.

No, those controls suck nowadays .

Saints Row has the tight car physics, and it makes the game feel like you're playing with toy cars, it's a crappy toy feeling. GTAIV's cars felt realistic, and took skill to learn how noot to wreck into every damn thing like you were a mental patient on furlow.

I sincerely hope the don't step back too far, about the only thing IV got right was the physics on foot and in vehicle, ripping out the world interaction and level of customization San Andreas had was a mistake.

Yeah but, what kind of race game?
GT5 style, or Cruis'n USA Style? (That good old hilarious N64 game biggrin.gif )

Trund, Don't know man, could be everything. Dan Houser said that the driving feels like in a race game. Let's hope like GT5 or other realistic new race game and not Mario Kart and co. tounge.gif

Really, who needs the car controlled changed? They were just phenomenal in gta EFLC. I mean sanandeas controls were okay. I want more EFLC style controls. I don't want my guy flying out the windows any more though. I also hated when your walking and a car taps you your guy falls down. I personally like the controls though and hope they don't modify them to much.

Hopefully they stay exactly as they were in IV, except maybe Niko can sprint, climb a little faster. Maybe don't make the cars wobble as much. Other than that, it's fine. SA controls sucked balls, especially the targeting system.

I hope we can edit the controls the way you want to have it.

( For example: If on PS3 ''R2'' would be throttle, you have the abillity to switch this button to ''X'' or ''Left Analog stick upwards'' )

Forza Horizon got it perfect with the way cars feel. I hope GTA V's driving is more like that.

I hope Rockstar learns from their past mistake. So,I think the car control mechanism would be fine.

Mistake? What mistake? If you're talking about the driving physics, anything better than IV's (which V is going to be) is more than Godly physics!

They talk about running more physics on them which interests me. In IV the cars were slippery but in the trailer when the minivan gets hit you can tell the tires have realistic grip. But the one thing that bothers me is how fast and easy the cars move in the trailer, and how jumpy the police cruiser looks when it swerves out of the way of the classic Aston Martin.

Controls and handling are two different things. The title is misleading.

It would be nice of R* to bring back the option to have X button acceleration for PS3. And I want controls similar to MP3 and RDR, not like IV and LA Noire...

And there's my evidence. People doesn't read the OP, and therefore think this topic is about controls.

Hahaha, if the OP is TLDR for you then you have some serious learning difficulties.

But yeah the thread title is dumb.

Handling for the super drop diamond in tbogt was a pretty good balance between arcadey and realistic in my opinion.

Imo the super drop diamond had awful handling. I litterally couldn't drive it because it drove so different.

It did take skill to master those controls, which is why I love them because once you know what you're doing you can really kickass and it feels frickin amazing. I can play GTA IV and not wreak at all because of how well I understand the cars.

If it's like Burnout Paradise GTA will be dead.

Don't get me wrong I love Burnout and especially Paradise, but thats Burnout.
I don't want to drift around corners just by tapping break so easily, ( NFS Most Wanted), they would ruin their progresss in driving physics if they went anywhere near back to what SA was.

I like that I have to think like i'm really driving. Break before cornering.

well this is gta we are taling about, NOT RDR and whatever mp3 is. so anything to do with rdr is in a while differerent ballpark. you cant go to oh well this game's controls are good so put ti in this its all based on the past games.
