Trying to fix my widescreen
Posted 15 December 2012 - 02:50 PM
I am using the FOV Tool which I found here.
My resolution is 1680x1050 which has an aspect ratio of 16:10. In that thread the author claims that 16:10 resolutions should use a FOV of 10 and height stretch of 1.6. Thing is, those settings completely screw everything up and when shooting, I can see that the bullets aren't hitting anywhere close to where the crosshairs are.
For that reason, I am using the settings he claims are for 16:9 resolutions, (FOV 16, height stretch 1.777), which seems to work better. (I will link to some screenshots and as you can see, the bullets and crosshairs pretty much line up with these settings.) Now though, I'm not sure if everything is too far away from the screen.
I would really appreciate it if someone who knows what they are talking about would look at these screenshots comparing with/without the FOV Tool and share their opinion on them. Thanks.
