You can also try running the game in Compatibility mode for "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" or "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)"

then uninstall the game, check for remaining mods, Delete them.
You can reinstall the game from your DVD so you have a nice clean installation.
Play the game to be sure it still works.
After all that you can start putting your mods back ONE AT A TIME. Play the game to ensure that it still works.
You can now install the next mod. repeat.
When you get to the Mod that is screwing up the game don't use it. Or go to the modding forums for help with it.
ENB mods, especially are believed to cause many of the problems with the game, note: any mod can screw-up the game.
The San Andreas Forum is for UN-modded game questions, and problems.

Uninstall all mods you have - best to do is reinstall the game
Check the TEXT folder. Sometimes there might be a file called american.gxt.ini (Configuration file. It can appear in the folder when you modify american.gxt) if you see it, delete it.
Is you game original from CD or pirated?
My one is pirated and I have the same problem from time to time.

my game is original
I kept the screwed game and reinstalled it to another place
but it still doesnt work
I think I must copy the entire game to an external hard and remove it from pc
install the original game again and paste the screwd game on the new one
I hope it help
