what do you think system req for pc will be. Im a little bit worried because of gigantic amount of stuff they'll put in the game + graphics + enormous map. And let's assume they have learned from their mistakes and V will be better optimized.

The biggest problem will be the amount of hard drive space it will take up. More than 30GB surely? cry.gif

Shouldn't be that much of an issue, SSDs are forcing HDDs down in price. The flooding in Taiwan caused the prices to rise temporarily early this year but 1TB can easily be bought for less than £50 now.

What is your CPU? Or whole system spec. A good rule of thumb should be if it can run GTA IV at high settings it'll run V fine.

Well by the time it comed to PC (typically a year after Xbox/PS2 exclusivity if history is any indication) then I doubt the speculation of what PCGamers have now will be relevant in 2014. :x

If everything works fine, then a little bit above Max Payne 3 requirments.

If it fails again like GTA4, then you'll need Intel i9 or Phenom II X8 with 4GHZ, 32GB Ram and a GTX 980 or HD 9120 with 5GB Video Ram. Don't worry, in between 1 and 4 years such toys will be available for us PC gamers to play GTA5 on maximum settings with at least around that 30fps area at minimum.

Lol, good one. I hope thats not the case but it might be for RAGE2. Anyway yeah op, we dont know if there will be a pc let alone what will take to run it. My guess is if you ran 4 this should do fine also.

Same as Max Payne 3, the game uses the same optimized engine and I'm sure they follow the same line of codding and all they've learned from it. GTAIV, Red Dead and Max Payne 3 were the test drives for RAGE/ Euphoria, GTAV will be the real showdown.

Well, that is not a really good PC to be honest. You will be able to play GTA V but only on low or middle settings so nothing special.

A Dual Core minimum just like Max Payne 3, And a GTS 450 minimum if the game goes DX11 ONLY!

@Carl CJ Johnsons Brother Brian

His rig is fine he can High the game but not Ultra at 35FPSish
That rig is just fine.

Just fine? He can be glad when it's possible at all to play GTA V on mid settings with a decent performance. He has an outdated low-end dual-core processor and the graphic card is from the low-end class of the last graphics generation from AMD. How can you describe this "just fine"? Just because he has 8GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD doesn't mean that his PC is fine because it's far from being fine.

Look son, Max Payne 3 didn't depend much on what processor we were using, I mean ofc he will not be able to MAX the game but his GFX is ok and it can handle DX11 Features well, And just because its an ATI Radeon doesn't mean its a Low Profile, The HD 6450 has many variants and some of them consume more power to deliver the best, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE A RIG MY ITS PROCESSOR.

Chances are, if we're lucky, the game will be more graphics dependent than CPU. I would suggest any Intel Core i3 to Intel Core i5 will be fine. On the AMD side of things, Phenom X4 II to the latest batch of AMD cpu will suffice. You wouldn't need any more than 4 GB of RAM and yea, 30-35 GB of hard drive space.

same as gta iv and max payne 3 for sure. and it will take around 20+ gb hdd space. My mid-high system will definitely run it perfectly (50-60fps) on high 1080> i5-3550 ivy, 8gbddr3@1600, hd7870@2gb. Its not a next gen game so it will run exactly like me3 and gtaiv as i said before..

OP.
Going from how GTA IV performed on PC, I think the minimum specs for GTA V will be as follows:

CPU: Intel i7 3960 OC to 4.5ghz
GFX: Quad GTX 690 (Not OC)
HDD: 200GB, SSD Recommended
RAM: 64GB via Quad Channel
OS: Windows 7
Optical Drive: DVD or BDROM
OPTIONAL: Lubricant.

Max Payne 3 is a linear shooter while GTA V is a huge, interactive open-world game. The AI of GTA V is much more complex compared to MP3. I didn't say that his graphic card is a low profile just because it's from AMD. In case you don't know, ATI doesn't exist anymore because it belongs to AMD since years now. Anyway the HD6450 is a low end chip, the second digit of the number already tells it. The system with AMD graphic cards runs like this: all videocards have numers. The first digit (x000) is the generation, the second digit (0x00) tells you the class, and the last two digits are just extra classifications so usually the higher the number the better, exactly like with the second digit. What does the second digit exactly mean? Well, if the second digit is anything between 0 and 5 then it's a low end chip, if it's 6-7 then that's a middle class chip. If it's 8 then it's a performance class chip and if it is 9 then it's a highend chip. Keep in mind that this goes only for AMD graphic cards from the HDxxxx serie. NVidia graphic cards have three digits since the start of the GTXxxx series. The first digit tells you the generation, the second digit tells you the classification and the third digit is usually 0 but can be 5 if it's for example a "placeholder", a graphic card from the old generation that is marketed as a new-generation graphic card or simply a refresh. If the second digit is anything between 0 and 4 then it's a low end chip, if it's 5 then it's a middle class chip, if it's 6 or 7 then it's a performance chip. If it's 8 then it's a highend chip and if it is 9 then it's a dual-GPU graphic card. Oh, and please, don't call me "son" because that makes your point not any stronger.

Not to mention Windows 8 being a new OS but I believe it is certain to support that as what always OS it will be.

Yeah.. apparently Windows 8 is good for gaming....

Hmm.. Think I'll sacrifice a few frames to stick with Windows 7, the best Windows OS so far. Windows 8 is sh*t. So sh*t that Microsoft now chose to ignore its existence.

Report: So, MS, How do you feel about your Windows 8 Launch?
MS: Yes, we are really happy with Windows 7.

Seems like your proud that you don't want to over-exceed performance settings on your game. Others would really max out everything just to keep the game going with ultra settings, like what most PC gaming users want. But exceptionally this game would very big though and you might need some upgrade on your specs such as OC your CPU and maximizing your RAM to 16GB.
