Mod: Rain Drops on Screen
Version: 1.0
Author: OJdoesIt/HeresOtis
Start Date: 11/28/2012
Update: 12/11/2012

Textures by: Function-X & other

A quick mod I made that recreates the rain droplets on screen like in VC.
You can make your own textures and replace them in the txd.

Put RainMod.cs in CLEO folder.
Put RainMod.txd in models/txd folder.

1.2
Disable rain SFX
Particles (if on screen) disappear when weather changes
Particles flow down screen according to player's movement speed
Particles appear when driving boat, no matter the weather
Particles appear when driving in rain
Fixed flickering of particles

1.1:
Droplets don't show when it's rainy and there's a building over CJ.
Droplets start off with little quantity then increase as rain weather stays.
Better droplet motion.

Screen particles only show when weather is rainy.

Would like someone to convert the VC or IV rain particles to SA txd.

Looks good, but making it CLEO4-only only due to fact you want to use CLEO4 opcode to notify about a missing file isn't a good idea tounge.gif

Why do people stay with CLEO3 if 4 adds more features?

Very nice icon14.gif

Does this conflict with other mods that 'draw textures on the screen' ?

I remember Wesser's Windshield GUI mod had a problem with white textures when using other mods that drew textures on the screen as well..

Possible to do the same for blood?

Personally, I consider CLEO3 more stable. And you can reproduce almost all CLEO4 features in CLEO3.

I think if another mod constantly releases its textures, then there might be a conflict.

Nice work. icon14.gif Also, in VC those water droplets also appear when you ride a boat, any chance of doing the same?

I like the way they move down, instead of staying in one place icon14.gif But the raindrop texture seems to flicker on/off very very quickly, instead of being a smooth transition down the screen.
Also, the raindrops start to appear about 3/4 of the way up the screen, never @ the very top.

Possible to implement a 'trail' as it moves down .. sort've like in this video.

Obviously not as fast, as this is a very small area being filmed.

Keep up the good work icon14.gif

I also noticed that when rain is about to end, the raindrops will "blink", changing size really fast from normal to small and back to normal. And it doesn't seem to work while driving.

Would it be possible to remove the annoying noise when rain is on? I always hated it much...

I agree with Marty's suggestion, is it possible to make the noise disappear?

I think it is possible, DK22Pac is able to enable it even if rain is off (the TLaD noise CLEO mod for SA does exactly this, enabling rain noise for all weathers). Tried to set this memory address to 0 but no luck confused.gif

Can you post a source code please? I want to add couple of things, but decompiled code is a mess. You can send it to pm, if you don't want to distribute it or something.

Why not suggest your 'couple of things', maybe he can implement them himself icon14.gif

v1.2 sounds great, will test it soon icon14.gif

I was thinking about adding sound of rain, and since i'm the only person who's using SAAP.asi with cleo 3, any way i have to do it is myself.
About suggestions, i think that video http://youtu.be/0MxScqT_tR8?t=27m32s will speak for itself.

With "noise" for rain I don't mean the rain SFX, the noise is a graphical effect. Start rainy weather it is this black-white effect like this:

here the whole image is coverd but with in SA you still see the rest but this effect annoys me much.

Good mod but I have noticed, if you have installed Ocains SnowFX the textures will not load properly.
If you activate Ocains SnowFX Cleo the textures from it will not load and when it rains the drops are bugged. It will show grey squares instead of drops.
Is there any solution?

Lol, you guys made it seem like you were talking about sfx. I really don't notice what you're talking about ingame. I would need an ingame pic to see what you mean.

His mod must be constantly releasing textures, which interferes with other mods that load textures.
