I watched this show like it was a f*cking ritual. alien.gif
I was completly devastated when Nicktoons removed it. suicidal.gif
I also remember shows listed by other memebers like:
Rocket Power, Ahhhh! real monsters, Rocko's modern life.
And some shows that still come on like: My Life As A Teenage Robot (Yes, I love this show too, and I am very happy that it still comes on occasionaly), Spongebob (Yes, the earlier episodes were a part of my childhood.), and "Oh yeah cartoons"(Does not come on anymore), and the Jackie Chan cartoon.(I watched that like a ritual too.)
And then there are shows thaty I don't even know that names of, like on where a boy fights dragons. whatsthat.gif

This topic should begin and end with RetroJunk.com...

Pizza flavored Ranch dressing. I used to put it on everything, and thinking back, I'm pretty sure I didn't even like it. It was just one of those things you ate because you were a kid.

Aliens action figures. I don't remember if there was a cartoon, but I do remember having a standard xenomorph action figure. I know there was Predator action figures as well. The early 90s was a weird time where young kids latched onto super violent movies of the previous decade, and we needed corresponding action figures. I think it was when Terminator 2 came out, and they had a line of toys. I know because I got them all for like my 7th or 8th birthday. Another ad. And another.

MC Hammer doll. There was a time, when MC Hammer was huge. For about two or three years, he was a mega star. And I'm not afraid to admit I wanted a MC Hammer doll.

Tsar_Smirnoff, everything you have brought up has pretty much been spot on for me too biggrin.gif thanks for that Skip It commercial, I remember the Crossfire one as well biggrin.gif

As a kid I was huge on 90s Nickelodeon.. still am in fact wink.gif , it has apparently also played a pretty big role in the childhood of a lot of other people my age, most of these shows have been popping back up lately on "The 90s Are All That", dvd releases, and a lot of them having reunions etc.

The first three are by far and away my favorites. The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Salute Your Shorts, Guts, Clarissa Explains it All ( met Melissa Joan Hart at Nick Studios in Florida ), Hey Dude, Wild n Crazy Kids, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Doug, All That, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Nick Arcade ( vaguely remember this one ) as well as a few others. I have been accumulating a rather large collection of all of these shows recently.

MTV was also Huge for me.. back when it was quality music and quality shows as well. Videos I remember fondly would be:
Blind Melon - No Rain, Smashing Pumpkins - 1979, 4 Non Blondes - What's Up, RHCP - Soul to Squeeze
to name a few.

There were also other classic shows such as the Simpsons, Married With Children, Beavis and Butthead, Home Improvement and a little later in my childhood - Flash Forward ( with Ben Savage ).

Movies some of which were "classics" already - Ferris Buellers Day Off, Jaws, Tremors, Top Gun, Red Dawn, Rambo, Terminator 2, Jurassic Park.. I saw Jurassic Park in theaters, we bought the VHS and I remember watching it 3 times back to back.. that's 9 hours of JP ha.

Video games were pretty big as well - I was always a Nintendo kid up until the PS2 came about. NES, SNES, 64.. so many great games on all of these. Mario, Mortal Kombat, Zelda. I can remember seeing Mario 64 for the first time at the age of 10 and being absolutely blown away.

Holy, pretty big post already.. and that only covers media / entertainment biggrin.gif haha.

-Power Rangers.
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
-The Incredible Crash Dummies.
-Biker Mice From Mars.
-Action Man.
-Thomas The Tank Engine.

I still remember back in primary school when yo yos and marbles were a form of entertainment. Now kids probably play on their PSPs and such.

Sh*t's changed from 20 years ago.

Applaud yourself if you guess the name of this anime before hearing this awesome song which it used to be when I was like 6?! Maybe this program is the reason why I developed a hentai porn fantasy. tounge.gif

GO PLANET!

With your powers combined I am Captain Planet!

Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
He's our powers magnified,
And he's fighting on the planet side

Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
Gonna help him put us under,
Bad guys who like to loot and plunder

"You'll pay for this Captain Planet!"

(chanting)
We're the planeteers,
You can be one too!
'Cause saving our planet is the thing to do,
Looting and polluting is not the way,
Hear what Captain Planet has to say:

"THE POWER IS YOURS!!"

Then there was Swat Kats, Samurai Jack, The Mask and the other usual ones like The Flintstones, Scooby Doo, Ed Edd n Eddy and many others whose titles I cant even remember. There was this sci-fi cartoon which had three heroes. They used to call some whiz-girl at their base and then she would press some buttons with which these guys get struck by a ray coming from a satellite and they get covered with cool weapon integrated armours and two wheels to drive off like a bike. I never missed an episode but can't remember it's name.

My half childhood passed in watching cartoons and the other half in playing games with friends in the walled city.
