I don't give a crap about what IGN said, Game Informer and other sites metioned in thier previews that Los Santos is more than twice the size of IV's Liberty city, and the whole map is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas and IV combined.

True. IGN doesn't always tell truth confused.gif I too think that LS as a city without countryside will be a lot bigger than LC.

Los Santos only as big as Liberty city! That is way to small. Liberty city small to me. I was hoping like 200 sq miles or more. The bigger the better, more to explore!!!

u are too stupid kid ;D haha i have to be calm ;D

Los Santos is the same size as Liberty City, I really thought it would be bigger confused.gif Still got the desert and that though.

QUOTE
It’s not just large -- the city of Los Santos alone is comparable in size to the whole of Liberty City.

-IGN

First off, they never said it was only limited to the size of LC, but that it was comparable. It could be bigger, a little bit bigger.
Second off, Liberty City was a really decently sized city for a video game, especially for a city in a game where all neighborhoods are unique and you barely see the same buildings everywhere.
Third, they're not including the surroundings. The surroundings can be suburbs, which I personally count as part of the city because it's urbanized. And before you get on me "surrounding could be anything" R* stated in the GI that some suburbs led up to the city of Los Santos, and if you know anything about la first off, you'd know it has tons of outer suburbs so suburbs in the game seem very likely outsde of Los Santos, especially towards the NW of Los Santos.

Anyways, I'm satisfied. The idiots can shut up about the map being smaller than LC, Choco Taco is wrong tounge.gif P: and I like the size anyways, I mean to have a city that big and detailed and then a larger beautiful countryside with lots of vehicles to tourer it, how dafuq can you be mad? HOW!?

I realized this to and I'm not complaining and neither should you b.c. Ign contradicted themselves. You say it's same size and LC but than say you only seen 1% of the game so far if that. Lol Rockstar didn't show them all of LS so we just have to wait till we play them game. Also what will make LS bigger than LC or atleast feel bigger is more roads and street. Makes things more dense and more detail and feels a lot longer to get to point A to point B. If u look at pics of gta v and then gta iv there's so many space in between building in LC but I see hardly nothing of such in LS.

He has a point. Ign said they didn't see an airpoty but in the trailer it shows the famous LAX landmark, so there is an airport, so that means they still haven't seen a pretty big part of the map

Key word here is 'city'.
The statement doesn't include the countryside, ocean and desert.

The more posts I read on this forum, the more concerned I am for humanity as a whole. Is the concept of reading comprehension lost among some users here?

Listening to those guys at IGN talk makes me get a headache sometimes. Just listen to their trailer 2 breakdown. sarcasm.gif

And can we just get one thing straight? Nobody except R* has seen the entire map. R* isn't going to just show them all of the city in a demo. Those demos are tightly controlled.

Wait, what happened to "Bigger than RDR and GTA4 combined"? You don't mean to tell me that's not true do you!?

No, what they mean is that Los Santos is big as Liberty City in GTA IV, and the surrounding areas are big as Red Dead Redemption and GTA SA combined.

So you have Los Santos big as Liberty City, and the surrounding areas (country side, deserts, towns) big as GTA SA and Red Dead Redemption.

Im confused because of this :

" Rockstar Games nous a confirmé que la ville de Los Santos (soit une réplique quasi parfaite de Los Angeles) sera 4 à 5 fois plus grande que le Liberty City de GTA IV"

TRANSLATE : ---> "Rockstar Games has confirmed that the city of Los Santos (an almost perfect replica of Los Angeles) is 4-5 times bigger than Liberty City in GTA IV"

Don't trust anything you read. For instance, Game Informer claimed that Liberty City had activities around every corner. Yeah, right.

These areas are about the same -

Now erase San Fierro and Las Venturas and double the size of the areas around the city.

If this is true, GTA IV is now covered by ONLY the city. There is A LOT more terrain to explore omg... And BTW, it might be fake information.

Los Santos is as big as Liberty City, and thats only one part of the map. GTAIV was pretty big, so this is very exciting.

This is impossible. LS looks like the same size of LS in San Andreas, like 1/6 Liberty City

Why dont people understand that its not the size of the whole map people are conplaining about. The map is freakin huge. Its the size of LOS SANTOS. The bulk of the city. I am disappointed if the city of LS is indeed similar to Liberty City as in my opinion, that was small-ish. Awaiting responses from idiots and bargainers and more idiots who dont read what I'm saying and continue to say - "bigger than san andreas, rdr and gta iv combined!! So much countryside!!!"

LS is as big as LC.LC was f*ckin' big IMO.So LS would also be huge. And look at this,

user posted image

This desert area is also massive. So If combine this with Los santos city along with the country side, that would be f*cking HUGE.Also, there would be more enterable buildings.

Holy f*ck, it never ceases to amaze me how f*cking stupid some of you lot are. They are not saying that The ENTIRE MAP of GTA V is as big as Liberty City. The CITY of Los Santos, not including the countryside and desert, is as big. Where the f*ck is the common sense people?

Who would needs the city to be bigger anyway? IMO GTA IV's LC is the perfect size for just a city so I have no issue with LS being the same.
