A mini-scule amount of mini-games. Quality over quantity. The tennis game will probably be a scaled up version of R* Table Tennis, a game in itself. Hopefully the table tennis is there to, because I never got to play that.

If they took out vigilante missions I am going to be crushed...

Is it just me or does it seem like the more we find out about this game, they less that is actually in the game. I feel like all the things we want arent even going to make it in game.

Well they're not mini-games per se. They're more side missions & didn't seem out of place in IV. The police computer was a great idea that very few people moaned about.

People hated the Mini-Games in IV but are now crying when they were taken away? I'm dissapointed there will be less stuff to do as well but the Hypocrisy here is astounding.

Less minigames? What the f*ck? Why can't they EXPAND instead of replace? Why can't they import IV's minigames? confused.gif

can you say expansion packs for purchase?

Are you saying that as a positive thing?

Not really hypocrisy. Depending on the outcry here, it seems GTA V was the perfect opportunity to rekindle good, fun minigames. Although I can't even say that because it seems like the "lesser minigames" seem like they're going to be on a larger scale.

Personally, I ignored a lot of the minigames anyway.

Did I hear there was a surfing minigame? or did I imagine that?

I hope they don't completely get rid of smaller games. They never did pool very well for me, although I am sure it could be done well. A decent darts game in a run down pub in the desert would also be good.

I am happy about the bigger, better, more extravagant games like a full golf course, tennis game etc. I do like the mini-mini-games like darts, poker and pool though, so I do hope they are still there somewhere too.

Do you know how big this world is? Remember they are working on dated hardware Xbox 360 where disk size is a factor. Surely they are not trying to make this game boring Im trusting Rockstar here to not make another GTA IV.

Also the world is incredibly detailed so sacrifices have to be made somewhere.

The only one of those that is confirmed to not be in the game is buying property.

From the screenshots it suggests car customization is possible.
Weapon customization is highly likely judging by certain screens.
There is a marijuana shop in the game (confirmed in IGN video) so drug dealing is possible.
Store robberies are likely, judging by the 1st trailer.

The only one that hasn't been hinted at is house burglaries.

It's been a while since I posted on GTAforums, so I'm a bit lost biggrin.gif
I hope mods will find it useful and moves it in a more appropriate place.

Today, an other French website is supposed to release their own interview with Dan Houser.
When it will be released, I'll do a translation here (in the "News" section, this time) smile.gif

I already have reported this topic so I hope it'll be moved to the News section soon. smile.gif

GTA V will maybe not have as much mini-games as for example GTA San Andreas but the quality of them will be drastically better so literally games in a game as jamieleng already said. That's much better since I don't want tons of mini-games that aren't well-made and boring but for that I want less of them with better quality. I'm actually very pleased with it!

During the last 12 months lots of fans have buildt a picture of a game that doesn't exist. The game will be good, but do not expect that it's going to be absolutely mind blowing. It's on current gen consoles, it's impossible include all of the features from previous GTA games with such a big map and detail.

To be honest, I'm a bit disappointet. To me it looks like GTA V is slightly touching Saints Row's path.

I dont know why, but I have a feeling, that they didnt put the cool minigames and other cool stuff from the other GTAs in GTA V. For example tuning cars, casinos (poker, blackjack...) etc. I think they only add a few minigames, which are way better but still less then in the previous GTAs

That's exactly how Dan made it sound. So, R* neglected any of the fun stuff? This would be a stupid decision if it's as "less" as he says it is. I guess we'll see.

Quality>> quantity.

Add the 'Dynamic missions' to the mix

Add the games similar to the ' taxi,, ambulance and vigilante missions' of the III era

Add tennis (I'm going to enjoy tennis)

Add the triathlons of the game.

Add golf.

Animals!(hunting?)

Lots of cool things to spend money on.

...and much more!

That's not really much of an excuse, imo. San Andreas came out right before next-gen systems did, and it was an INCREDIBLE game for its time. I just really hope GTA V can do the same in terms of being mind-blowing.

Regardless, I'm excited and looking forward to it.

Is it just me or is anyone else annoyed with the questions they ask?? We wanna know about gameplay, animals is the new "big" thing and many people want to know about car customization and other gameplay stuff. Not everything but certain gameplay details.
But no they ask: "You think GTA has created a genre, as
we speak of 'genre film?'"

Are u f*cking kidding me? You have an interview with some1 who's heading possibly the biggest game ever created and u ask THAT??? I don't like to generalize but I don't think anyone really cares, everyone already bloody knows GTA have created a new genre.

I agree. Now, I don't know how the interview went, and who knows, Dan Houser may have been reluctant to answer any questions regarding the gameplay, for instance, but these questions sure feel pretty unimportant compared to some really interesting ones, such as "WHERE IS MT. CHILIAD?!?"

Just to bring my input as another frenchie on gtaf :

this interview is from Ecrans, sub division of LIBERATION, a french generalist newspaper. So the questions are "general public" oriented... kinda like Dan's interview from NY TIMES last saturday, so it seems pretty normal to me that they don't ask him about mechanisms, gameplay and features.

@Niteye : nope, not a translation error from my french fellow here, and i doubt the journalist mis-translated

God, you people...

Saints Row stole from GTA, therefore, if GTA "does" SR, it's really only copying itself... To the extreme.

Seriously though, why does everyone bitch about one negative instead of the endless lists of positives this game has already presented us with.

Biggest GTA ever, more cars than ever, not one but three protagonists, planes, open map from the get go, LS, Chilliad, outstanding graphics... But YOGA. I'LL NEVER BUY IT. angry.gif

Shut the f*ck up everyone.
