When Dan Houser stated there were other "Things" we could spend our money on, do you think we are able to purchase a jetpack instead of using a cheat code? I mean were in a era where cheat codes are pretty much dead, and i personally think purchasing a jetpack in GTA 5 would be so awesome because thats what we enjoyed in Gta san andreas.

There's no such thing as consumer jetpack so probably not.

Sanandreas had one. Why not? They said we will be able to do crazy things this time.

If so, then yes it's possible.

You should actually do some research. Of course consumers can buy jetpacks. It's not like they're owned by some government or something.

Hmm, I don't think "crazy" is the word they used. As awesome as it would be, it just seems with this generation of GTA, it's a little more about realism. I said this in another thread but Dan or Sam have said them selves that characters wouldn't do things that don't make sense for them to be doing when talking about GTA IV, I assume it applies to this game as well. There's a more serious tone around this universe of GTA.

Ok fair enough, those water jetpacks may be in the game.

Jetpacks in real life are featured at certain events near airfields I believe....maybe a similar event coule be featured in the game? They even have these special jetpacks in real life powered by water, but you can only fly them over water =P

I like my realism as much as the next guy, but I'd happily accept jetpacks in GTAV. Who doesn't want to fly around in a f*cking Jetpack?

The jetpack is one of the most important features for the game. I hope they don't leave it out because of concentrating too much on realism.

LOL, no

Real life jet pack video

Their website and more information

Their price, when they are done anyway, is 200K. Which is good for a GTA game. Something to waste your money on when you are done with the game and have 500K in your pocket tounge.gif

Look at my post then. I canít believe how no one knows about the jet packs or the real life hover bike. Those are like the best damn things in this world and they are very real. All R* has to do is make them last longer than they do in real life. Just like how CJ, a random thug, can fly a Hydra. Real life is trying to copy GTA now tounge.gif

Yes they exist, but let's be realistic here. They're currently only for experimentation and maybe some sporting events such as the one in the video. The only plausible way would be to find one in the military base, or to win one in your safehouse by completing like maybe 100 Jetpack sporting events or something.

Didn't really like jetpacks in SA at all for many reasons. (only one is plausibility) I'm glad they weren't in GTA 4 and I hope they aren't in 5.

That is enough for me. Video games were so un-realistic back in the day. Now, we have jet packs in real life. Just like how we have infinite fuel in cars and easy to fly jets, easy to fly jet packs with never ending supply of fuel is VERY realistic in GTA world. I see nothing wrong with it.

It could simply be some guy who makes them and doesn't mind selling one to you. IRL if you had the money you probably could easily find somebody who's willing to sell you one. The reason people don't buy them IRL is because they're not safe and the flight time isn't worth it. Those are two things that wouldn't apply to GTA. Jetpacks are far more plausible than military jets.
