I hate them all. Luis was so much better than these fools. I'm sorry but i'm still in shock. I'm not a fan of 3 protags at all.

I'll say michael because his a snitch that should be fun. I hope we kill him. I hate snitches. smile.gif

They all seem like really interesting characters. If I was pushed to choose which one is my favourite based off all that we know so far, I'd say Trevor.

I honestly don't like Trevor right now. He's clearly a balding, creepy, sadistic, always blood-seeking psychopath, sociopath (as every GTA protagonist) and drug addict, who doesn't care about anything else.

Has anyone thought about the options we will have with these 3 protags?

1. Play each character without ever switching during the game. (Storyplaying 3 times)
2. Play and switch only between 2 protags. (Storyplaying: 3+3)
3. Play and switcht between all. (Storyplaying 3+3+1)

So we will get 7 times the possibility to play the story in different ways. That sounds very well for me. The more I think about the idea with several protags the more I'm convinced about this new idea, although I has been very sceptical in the first moment.

Btw I'll start with Michael or Franklin first. Probably Michael.

Man, you forumites are racist. NO LOVE FOR FRANKLIN!?

Why is it racist that people are liking Trevor or Michael more? Explain this. You can't because you've been taught to use the RACE CARD like you are doing now. Pathetic, really. People's tired of that crap.

I hope Trevor is a true redneck, and I hope Michael isn't too much of a yuppie. And when I hear Franklin, I start singing the cartoon song; Hey it's Franklin, comin' over to play, growing a little, every day. I just hope he talks and acts right instead of the 'hood' bullsh^t. That's all I'm saying. In other words, I hope that they're all well-rounded characters who are more real than the stereo-typical horse crap.

They seem all great individual characters but Franklin clinches it for me. Perhaps the one I most relate to, as he's the youngest and most ambitious. Also he's in more with the gang culture which is nice.

Trevor=Claude,Johnny,Niko

Michael=Tommy,Toni,

Frank=CJ,Luis,Vic Vance,Lee

So if you like a mafia leader type guy like Tommy, play as Mike.

If you like an hardcore psychopath like Claude, than play as Trevor.

If you like an young fast street gang type person like CJ, than play as Frank.

I'll be playing as them all...

Oh man Vance was more of a Tommy/Toni not a CJ at all.

Nope...I disagree.

Vance was young like CJ and he really didn't like to kill like CJ. He was defiantly NOT like Tommy. Vic wanted no part in the criminal world...Tommy and Toni did and they were ruthless.

I put Vic with CJ and Luis...

The thing I most want to do is ride the bikes, so I choose Michael for that, or Franklin. Then I'd choose Trevor for going crazy in free roam.

Not really because you need to put personalities in the equation and cancel out the appearances.
No protagonists are alike

I know that, but it seems that way from reading the 3 protagonist info.

But Vic was more of a Business type man like Tommy he wasn't part of a street gang. Oh if that's the case about Vic not wanting to kill anyone or feeling bad about it you might aswell put him in Niko's group. Both also were ex army.

Plus I wouldn't call Vic young he was in his late 20s. CJ, Luis and Franklin are or were in their early 20s.

Wow..Wow...Wow...Vic DiD NOT originally want to be a part of the criminal business world. It was his girlfriend Louisa(I think that was her name) that encouraged him to get into it. He really didn't care for the business, it was Lance Vance that really cared. CJ too was a businessman. Don't you remember him owning businesses? He also was one of the owners if the 4 dragons casino alongside Woozie and he became a rap manager at the end of the game, I would say CJ was richer than Vic.

Even that antagonist military guy in VCS said Vic is a "good guy" in a bad guys game....Vic was only in the criminal world to save his dying brother, he HATED the criminal world. I wouldn't DARE compare Vic to Niko..Niko was a ruthless cold blooded hitman, sure he sometimes had a soft heart, but he had no problems getting the job done and making money any type of way..

And I believe CJ was in his early 30s...Or maybe late 20s.

Trevor because he seems to be the only one who can do whatever the hell he wants without you thinking it doesn't seem right. With Trevor, you can ride a quad up a mountain, steel planes, blow up stuff, he seems a little bit like the truth for some reason but he actually does the stuff whereas truth got cj to do it for him.

It's the fact you actually compared Street thugs and former street thugs with Vic. He needed to make money to pay for his other brothers operation he was thrown into the crime life because of that and he was screwed over.

Niko was also trying to escape the life of crime but of course he wanted revenge just like Vic did after being thrown out of the Army. But both men were thrown into crime.

So I wouldn't ever put Vic in the same category as CJ, Luis and Franklin. He never started as a street thug. He was in the army and sure he didn't like killing neither did Niko but it was a must. Vic imo is a lesser cold blooded version of Niko. But of course I believe all these characters have very different personality it's the little things which make some similar.

Voted Trevor.

Flying planes and maniacally setting innocent people on fire is the way my main protagonist will roll!

I'm looking forward to just cruising my bike and scubadiving with Michael as well.

The Gameinformer article got me extremely hyped for this game, as opposed to a lot of negative Nancys in here.

I think my first game i'll play as michael, he looks like the sort of guy who would be right at home in a tarantino film, he's the modern professional, the Danny Ocean of the three leads and matches up with how i like to play GTA.

Lol, so many people didn't want to play as Trevor because of how he looks but I think he's the one that fits into the GTA world best. In Game Informer it said that he doesn't convincing when it comes to doing crazy stuff like robbing banks or that. He seems to enjoy causing trouble. I can't wait to play as him.

I'm sure Michael and Franklin will be fun to play as too but when you play as Trevor it won't be strange when you go around causing sh*t cause that's what he's all about.

It feels good to call them by their real names biggrin.gif No more "Ned Luke/Red Car guy or Quad Bike guy" haha.

Franklin, I think he looks bad ass and will no doubt have some links to gangs, which doesn't mean he's in one, plus he has a crazy mate, wouldn't Ming driving into the biker land and hitting them with some drive bye's infront off ther clubhouse, or just go Trevor and spray them

I've always had a liking towards the "Ned Luke", now Michael, character. I like his style, and his story is very unique for GTA. And he's not really much older than Tommy Vercetti, so it's not like he's an old man or anything. He's just an experienced man. Who wears nice suits. And I like that.

So he'll probably be my main dude. I will certainly give the other characters their time of day, of course. I don't know when I might specifically gravitate towards Frank beyond when I need to do his missions or his specific activities, but I'll always switch between characters every now and again I think, just to allow for some more variety. And lastly, Trevor. Oooh boy. I think he's gonna be my go-to rampage dude, the kind of guy who goes out of his way to kill innocent people, and do it in painful ways. He's gonna f*ck some sh*t up in my GTA V world, that's for sure.

What I really like about the multiple protagonists, now that it's grown on me, is that I've realized that most people have actually gotten what they want, in a way. Some people wanted "Ned Luke", well, he is someone we can play. Others wanted to be the "Hispanic Guy", and we can play as him too as we so choose. And, well, others wanted to play an evil, sadistic bastard. That's what Trevor is there for.

And I think that the story will not suffer for it. It will feel different from previous GTAs, that's for sure, but ensemble pieces can amazing. If movies can make us care about many important characters within their typically 2-hour runtime, so can a video game. They really went out of their way to make each character interesting and worth playing, I think, and able to act as great foils for one another. I expect the story to be something very interesting in its own right. And hey, every GTA needs something to make that one unique, to make it fresh again.

But, tangent aside, we're all going to have our favorites. Mine right now is Mike, but of course that can certainly change. That's just my plan for the game.

All the crybabies have a choice now! But since some people are discourage of in older character and vice versa with a black character, you have a choice.

I'm going with the vet; Trevor.

LOL! Its called being a hipster, not really a pet peeve kind of dilemma there.

I chose Trevor, but only because he was the most appealing to me, my opinion might change when I play the game though.

Trevor. I hope R* doesn't make him stupidly psychotic. Instead I hope they make him a clever, hot headed maniac (most likely the case since he is a main protag). Really looking forward to playing as him!
