We'll just like it's a bit bland if you get me, it has the synth playing through, but no backing synths or anything. lol.gif I'm trying to make it a bit more vibrant if you get me. smile.gif

I also have no clue how to play piano so i've been trying to use my ear to use the piano roll. lol.gif

Ahh, trust me, everybody has that feeling.
Beginners, professionals, everybody.

I'm still struggling with it, obviously, but I have noticed a few things that make tracks sound "full":
• Basslines. You need to have them, in every type of music, you need 'em. Nothing too fancy, just play around with the keys and find something that sounds good.
• Background synths - like you mentioned - are a key thing, but the only thing you need to do is to add some ongoing notes that keep moving along with the lead sounds - the lead synth goes a few notes up, so does the background synth. Keep their volume low though.
• Hi-hats. Keep them low too, their existence in general makes the beat sound like it keeps going on and on.

@Tommy-Vercetti19: Well it definitely needs some level adjusting, e.g. main lead, noise sweep sounds etc. Also main lead could use some more brightness, try to use less reverb. Other than that, I think it's pretty good, keep it up. icon14.gif turn.gif

Edit: also it really helps listening to some professional mixes on giving you an idea of how it should sound like.

@DanManUtd: This sounds pretty good actually, but why the hell didn't you make a beat for it? Or/and a bassline? nervous.gif I think it would sound much more complete with it.

I can do a remix if you want. biggrin.gif Just upload the mp3/wav/whatever file of it somewhere and I'll see what I can do with it. smile.gif

Oh and what program are you working with?

Thanks, I felt that it didn't suit it/I couldn't make one worthy of the track! tounge.gif

And yeah, of course go for it icon14.gif

Okay, so, I think I'm done with your tracks remix, DanManUtd. turn.gif The quality of your tune might have suffered a bit cause I changed the tempo from 80 to 83. No biggie, though.

Oh and you'll have to turn it up a bit as I didn't do any mastering outside Reason..

>Linky!<

P.S. Hope you like drum n bass. tounge.gif

@radltzx: Wow, that's a great remix, man. Love it. smile.gif

@Piperka: Not bad, sounds very much like the stuff I hear on radio. Not that I listen to it. Though at some parts the drum beat is a bit... not right. At around 0:35. No sense in changing it for 8 beats if you change it back soon after.

Thoughts?
Anyone wanna do a remix/drum-add/beat for 79?

Could you elaborate a little more? I keep listening over that part over and over and it seems normal confused.gif

btw I love the "79" track. 75 sounds good too

Anyway, a fresh new song I made today:

Just uploaded so it's still processing therefore it's not at its best quality yet.

Thanks, man! smile.gif

What I meant by that is that you change the drum samples for no apparent reason for a short time, which doesn't sound all that good. The same with your new piece. The starting drum beat is great, but then you change it to a 1-2-3-4 beat and change samples, and add the hats for 4 or 8 beats and then remove them, which sounds... not quite right.

I always hear songs that change their beats from hiphop to a 1-2-3-4. But oh well. In my next song i'll try to make it sound even. Thanks smile.gif

Well, if you do, do it in a chorus or something and don't change the samples (too much). Don't do it in the middle of the verse.

Wait, what? Did I hear SCAR-H and Painkiller?
Yeah, that's much better smile.gif . Although, I'm having difficulty understanding the lyrics. The pronunciation is great, but your voice is... drowned out a bit. It's hard to explain. Keep up the good work!

@radltzx: The first one reminds me of one ambient artist. Love it. The second one is very nice. Very... background music. Like, you make a video with a car driving cross-country and this could be the song over it. The third one is... different. Ananas bananas? I still love your Shifty! the most, though.

Yeah I was out of idea's for lyrics so I sang about MW2. My voice sounds drowned because I record it in my room, not in a studio tounge.gif When I have like, 20 songs made, I'll go to a recording studio and get them professionally recorded smile.gif

Lyrics:

I got my M16, ready to come clean
They know they will all get raped coz theyíre using the UMP
I got my silencer, for the radar
got my cold blooded for the chopper gunner,
Pavelow inbound, in the air,
it can't get me, it can't find me, on the UAV
So many campers, and n00b tubers,
hiding in the grass, in underpass

This place is so bad, like wasteland,
I don't know what was going through their minds at the time
I donít know how to make this rhyme
Donít go there, youíll get tac knifed,
You'll get tac knifed

Shooting with my Scar-H
getting hit markers, hitmarkers,
from painkiller, painkiller
Getting killed by someone hiding in a rock in Fuel
well since IW are to lazy to patch it up
So many campers, n00b tubers,
hiding in the grass, in underpass.

This place is so bad, like wasteland,
I don't know what was going through their minds at the time
I donít know how to make this rhyme
Donít go there, youíll get tac knifed
You'll get tac knifed

Itís the addiction, that keeps
me coming back for.
Same as everyone, thats turning bad
Sometimes I wanna throw it away,
but I know that I cant get away,
can't get away, can't get away, get away

This place is so bad, like wasteland,
I don't know what was going through their minds at the time
I donít know how to make this rhyme
Donít go there, youíll get tac knifed
You'll get tac knifed

This place is so bad, like wasteland,
I don't know what was going through their minds at the time
I donít know how to make this rhyme
Donít go there, youíll get tac knifed
You'll get tac knifed

Yeah, Ananas bananas was kind of no-brainer, for-fun track (you can tell by the name of the song really biggrin.gif ).. It's not my usual genre/style, but hey, it's fun to do something different sometimes. biggrin.gif Anyway, thanks for the feedback. smile.gif

It's also really fun to play around with acapellas, anyone creating music should try it, I think. turn.gif

EDIT: also here's another track I reuploaded. It's pretty old, but I thought it sounds pretty good. smile.gif

Pretty cool man, I know you said it's unfinished so what you need to add to it is ambient sounds to layer it up a bit and give it a rounder, fuller sound. Keep it up. icon14.gif

@Edmachine: 79 sounds sweet. I'd love to remix it when I get back in to producing. I don't have much time for it anymore at all. Not that I ever did really.

I only have some old stuff on myspace from about '07. I don't know how to master right and sounds amtuerish although I did have one track played on the radio before. biggrin.gif

There's no samples except for stuff from films and Charles Manson and I don't play keyboard/piano but I got some synth lines there.

http://www.myspace.com/zoso1985

The most recent two tracks I did are on this new profile where I tried to sample the baseline from a Doors track...

Can't wait to get cracking again. I'm sure I'm gonna have to relearn all the commands again whatsthat.gif
