Hey everyone, I just now seen that there was a music section so I decided that I would post them here. This is only if you like metal. Keep in mind, I'm only 14, so this is kind of my first experience with recording, so tell me what you think. smile.gif

I played all the instruments, but for the drums I used the Chango FOP Kit.

Goodbye

Dude its really tough. I can give you a pluggin that can make you create a oscilattion out of any waveform. This way you can apply it to guitars.

new track by me.

tell me what you think

Im not sure if you did it on purpose but it sounds like there is some serious clipping going on.

Unless it was on purpose you should lower the volume on all tracks so the loudest one is around -3db. Then add a gentle limiter. Sounds awesome otherwise icon14.gif

Heres a quick track I layed down last night, no bass guitar, not mixed, and played sloppy but I like the guitar tone and the riff's are decent.

Thanks man. Yea the cymbals suck since they are vst, I have some tricks to liven them up a bit but thats usually the last thing I do in the mixing stage.

New track by me, my mate Dr One made the beat, my mate Lewis Ahmet did the scratching, it was all made on one of the sh*ttest set ups you'll probably ever see. Not mixed great, but f*ck it, it is what it is.

^ It sounds a bit weird, as if the sounds are drowning each other out. Also, some parts are a bit distorted probably due to excessive compression. I like the concept but the sounds are generic, including percussion instruments. You could make your own sound presets and modify percussion samples for more originality. I personally tweak the sample settings on the percussion instruments so that they sound different.

Edit: I made two crappy "chiptune" songs for two of my YouTube friends. They are still work in progress (not even 50% complete) but due to lack of resources I've decided to temporarily release them on my friends' channels:

@Piperka: I actually really like it man. I think what he is talking about is simply some eq clashing. Your kick is kind of over bearing. A HPF would fix some of that along with some other eq. And the snare lacks punch. Try throwing a transient designer on it and give it some face. Lastly your synths could use a bit of spread. Either mess with some of the panning or even try a stereo widener with gentle setting. As far as the generic sound I think its good, it fits what your doing.

@_____: that second track is sick man. I like the synths you got going. What vst are u using?

I used Wasp XT and a flanger effect (Fruity flanger or Flangus) for all the synths. I make my own sound presets from scratch. I use FL Studio for a DAW btw.

@Piperka: Man, I'm impressed! That's quite good!
@______: I like chiptune music. Your songs are good, too, but I don't like the drums all that much. Or maybe it's the beat. Or both. But other than that, I enjoyed it.

A new piece from me. Might get repetitive (though the bassline is a constant solo). Up until the third minute or so, when the ePiano solo kicks in.

I don't like those drums either but it's just something I put together in a couple of hours, nothing serious. I didn't even master the songs because my computer is old and slow. I'll buy a new one sometime in the future, it's not exactly a priority a the moment.

I heard that tune when you uploaded it (I'm a subscriber to your channel). It's quite nice.

The only sampling I used was the high hat in the chorus. Everything else I had to click by myself lol. I used a bunch of kicks and claps from Refx Nexus 2.2.

There's a lot of music talent in GTAF! Just spent the last hour or so listening to some of the music from the past few pages.

I'd post some of my music but it's all mostly relatively depressing, quiet folk music. Again, awesome music guys.
