Looking back at page 250 ~ this thread only started to be derailed when the console folk started coming in here and pulling the topic in a different direction, tbh.

Trying to find the positive side in all of that -> we'll play it this summer when we'll have much more freetime than how much we got today in Fall/Winter. And our version will apparently (if really it is not a port) be way better than console's one.
We can now focus on school or work without any distractions. :p

How will it be way better?? Its the same engine as console version. So it'll be the same gameplay, just upgraded graphics

What possible new evidence could there be? Intel are talking openly about their opinions loudly. HP have mentioned it in their Twitter promotion material, and AMD and Nvidia both have graphic profiles that they are testing 'for something'.

It sounds like even these companies are bored of the cloak and dagger tactic. Unfortunately none of this matters untill Rockstar unvail the world's worst kept secret. If you keep up with all the 'leaks' from these sources you just convincing yourself it's near and ending up bitterly disappointed.

I wonder how it will benefit PC gaming.

This will encourage many to adopt the 64 Bit architecture.

One stick can now hold big gigs.

Not much at the moment as you can still game on DDr2 speeds, plus, right now, DDR3 speeds can clock higher (up to 2800Mhz) where as DDR4 will only be 2100Mhz upon release, but power wise and density wise, it will be better, especially for laptops and tablets as ram power use can now go on longer and of course more can be fit onto the chip, what does that mean for PC Desktops, not a lot really as we already blast through huge amounts of RAM with nothing really taking advantage of it and of course the power savings won't really matter here.

BF4 gets a lot more FPS with higher frequency.

P.S. It doesn't matter if comes this year or next, it depends when will Intel or AMD start supporting it. Late next year you will see them in motheboards if not 2015.

I'd be surprised if BF4 does, not many games even take notice of Ram Speeds, and even then, surely DDR3 would be better as it goes up to 2800Mhz, where as DDR4 on release will be 2100Mhz. :p

Oh boy, back in my day, we didn't even need that DDR you youngsters mention. We had DRAM running our Windows 98 on 1 GB hard drives with that sweet 500 MHz processor and that 8x speed CD reader. Never got better than that.

Now you got something called a Windows 8? Where am I?

I'm also faster in game than my friend because I'm on 1866MHz and he is 1600MHz, yet he has a little better SSD.

DDR4 should have lower latency and lower voltage, over time DDR4 should go 3GHz easly.

DDR4 sounds nice but will it be really nice or better stay with DDR3?

And I wonder how well GTAV is optimized for PC. I was waiting to built a new PC and then gett he GTX780

but then GTX780 Ti is released. I'll wait, maybe next month I'll build a new PC.

Right now, speed wise, DDR3 is better, the main advantage of DDR4 is that it uses less power (ideal for laptops and tablets) and has higher density (so like possible for 16GB to just be on a single stick), but speed wise, it's still fast (2100Mhz) but not faster than top line DDR3 (2800Mhz) but in a few years DDR4 should easily break past 2800Mhz, possibly settling around 3200Mhz or 3600Mhz.

In most games RAM speeds don't matter. I think Arma and a couple other games actually perform better with higher speeds, but most of the time it doesn't matter.

Unless you do some hardcore video editing and animation with After Effects, Maya, Cinema 4D, Sony Vegas etc, then there's no need to upgrade if you have at least 1333 Mhz RAM.

But if the release of DDR4 means price cuts on DDR3, then I might as well upgrade to at least 16 GB. I have 8 at the moment, but I use After Effects and Cinema 4D.

Oh yeah, in favor of you being a noob - and the noobs never read past one day theyve joined (unlike you), this thread is sort of untouchable when speaking of off-topic spamming noobs, it'll never get locked just because its a goddamn PC Version discussion of V. Spammers would rather be banned here than this topic being closed.

Not to mention the DRR4 will be priced too damn high. DDR4 is not even wort it because I want to play the released games.

And new unreleased games like The Crew, Watch Dogs and ACIV. I'll just grap 16GB DRR3 1600Mhz.

Not really. DDR4 is only good for laptops and tablets and they are not the future IMO.

They are very bad for gaming.
