You're totally spot on about interior materials. That Mustang dash would be really nice if it wasn't made from the cheapest plastic known to man, furnished with fake chrome and apparently put together by Stevie Wonder.

I'm quite partial to any of the interiors of high end Audis, such as the R8.

Oh man...
I liked the 69 Camaro RS SS dashboard because it had a similar setup, only with square shaped gauges. Or maybe I'm thinking of a 70 challenger, I'm getting them mixed up.

Here are my favorite:

The first one is the newest generation Mercedes Benz S class or (W222)

7544.jpg

Just look at it, it just has a sense of grandeur, the way the retro meets modern with the small details like the Mercedes Benz writing on the steering wheel, everything just flows, i think Mercedes are starting to get back up to how they were in the early 90's, i feel that is worth $222,500-$500,000 AUS dollars.

my next one is an older Mercedes design

2000_mercedes-benz_clk-class_2_dr_clk320

The first CLK generation, especially early 2000's in elegance trim, not as much as the S class, though it still has a flowing design to it, with details like the wood strip across the top of the dashboard, just a lovely place to be.

Last of the Mercedes interiors.

0339593-Mercedes-Benz-c-class-C200-Kompr

The W203 C class or 2nd gen in especially Elegance trim, maybe i love it because it has been in our family since 2002 when i was 6 and it sparked my fascination with Mercedes Benz, other people probably hate it because of the cheap looking woodgrain interior and the cheapness of it overall,  i feel it has a nice contemporary design, even after 11 years getting in it and our C200 k still feels nice to sit in on short and long trips.

20120116155727_2.jpg

The Bentley Arnage especially the final edition, just a sense that says "expensive", when you look at it, you know it has cost a lot of money.

It's such a "on the fence" car to me. I love the styling and premise of the car, but jesus it screws up everywhere else bad enough to pass up on it no matter how sweet the deal.

Some might find these colours a little* handbaggy, but the driver-oriented dash in the Brera, with its central gauges proudly displaying "Aqua" and "Olio", is unmistakably Italian and undoubtedly an impressive place to sit. A sportier option on the Turbo Petrol edition is full genuine Carbon fibre dash and steering wheel trim, a black headliner, and a full stitched dashboard.

I must be the only one who doesn't particularly like the Tesla Model S' dash. The fact that it looks like they've just taken a TV and shoved it in sideways looks a bit stupid to me, it's like they've tried to pull of a futuristic concept car style interior and not quite succeeded, imo. But still a great car overall.

Honestly think I prefer this dashboard..

I couldnt choose a favourite one but I consider the 1960s American brands dash designs the best looking ones. The 1965 Olds Cutlass has a nice one.

The newest Viper is in a completely different dimension to the previous cars for quality of materials, fit-and-finish, and general design flair.

SRT4.jpg

SRT6.jpg

Whilst a few Mopar parts-bin details let it down somewhat, the attention to other aspects is gratifying. Snakeskin effect leather, racetrack outlines engraved into door pulls and beneath the centre lid, a dash that flashes a "shift snake" and other bits and bobs set it apart. The only real shame is the lack of the four stacked, central dials which had become a Viper trademark.

Agreed. I find it very hard to believe Chrysler produced this, I still get nightmares from that PT Cruiser picture someone posted.

I would choose a different colour combo for sure though.
