All too often, someone on the V forum posts a giant screenshot that stretches the whole page out, making it so a moderator has to edit it out or tell the guy to find a smaller version which might not even exist. So, why not either add a new tag or modify the current one to include coding for resizing images so people can fit their screenshots into the forums without stretching the page. I think that would be cool. And convenient.

It's a good idea, but implementing something like that would likely break the forum. Perhaps it'll be on the list for V2 once it arrives. In the mean time, us editing huge images will have to suffice. It isn't much of a problem as it doesn't happen very often. Just report any huge images you see and we'll deal with them. Keep in mind though that if you're using a small screen, chances are most reasonable sized images are going to be over sized for you, so don't start reporting every single image and demand that images be resized to like 400 pixels like lil weasel does.

Having a tag/parameter to change the image's dimensions wouldn't save on bandwidth. You could have a 4000x4000 PNG image, 'weighing' 20MB, resized to 500x500, it'd still load the full image and just display it 8 times smaller.

Also, you can use this if you're using Firefox (or Opera, too, I guess). It resizes all images to 700x625. And it does a bunch of other things, too.
