controller for PC

Hello, i am new here and also new in playing GTA on the PC. first i played the game only with keyboard and mouse, but sometimes this works not so good.
now i want to buy a controller. which controller is the best to use, plug and play.

I think the xbox360 controller for PC would work best.

Logitech gamepad is good, with the profiler software you can pretty much
program the buttons and sticks anyway you want.

best to use the mouse for shooting thou.

Like N iteye said, for these console ports xbox controller is probably the best option, be it wired or the wireless option.
As for general quality and capabilities, I'd go with a midrange logitech.

i have a 3 euros 8 buttons joypad and with joytokey it works great . two more buttons would have been perfect but since JTK allows time controlled inputs it's just great . i'm not a big fan of wireless thing myself , don't know how the thing works but i'm pretty sure there's nothing better than the good old cable to avoid delays

If you're looking to play the older GTAs as well as IV/Episodes you may want one of the Logitech 'F' Series Gamepads which can be switched between X-Input and DirectInput.
