[TUT]Brightning effect using Elipse tool

Welcome.Have you see this type of font pics.

See carefully that a brightning half circed layer comes from upper of the font and ends at the mid of the font.Do you know how to make this thing?.If not then I will tell you here.I have see that there is no topic about this so made this.See the Step by Step.This is a 4 steps Tutorial.

Step 1:-

Open Photoshop.Create a new Document.Set the size of the value as you want and Make the document Transparent by clicking on the small box front of transparent.

Step 2:-

Use the Type Tool.Type the text you want.{Color,font,size is your wish}.I have typed in Black color because this effect looks better in Black color font.

Step 3:-

Make sure you haven't use Gradient in this.Now click on Custom Shape tool[user posted image].then choose ellipse tool.And create a ellipse on the font as I shown in the pic.

Step 4:-

This last step.So after making a Ellipse layer on the pic select Layer--->Change Layer content--->Brightness/Contrast .Change the value of Brightness more.Now I think you know how to do this.

Some more:-
=========

1.You can do this effect not only with font you can also with other images.
2.Black color font is best for this effect.
3.This is my third Tutorial.
4.Don't use gradient in doing this.

5.use opacity in the layer section for better result[this can also better in all color font]

The problem with using brightness is that the 'shine' is not going to look good on the other type of colors aside from black.
You can easily change that by using the opacity option in the layers menu...

i tend to put a circle over the top with a radial gradient, create a clipping mask and then im all sorted, nevertheless great tutorial it will help lots of people smile.gif
