Looks interesting. Too bad I am still yet to complete Origins for the second time (may even do a third playthrough) and play DA2 at all. What with college and all, maybe I'll get around to it in 5 or 6 years. Oh, well...

don't play Dragon Age 2.

it sucks.

it's nothing like Origins and it will be nothing like DA3.

you are literally missing nothing by skipping it.

Ahh... Interesting. It must be quite bad when 94% of players say it's bad, lol... Still, I'd rather play through it and experience it. But like I said, who knows when that'll happen.

EDIT: @below: Yes, I got it for roughly $14, so it was definitely a good deal, no matter how bad the game turns out.

It isn't that bad. It wasn't worth the full price, sure. But you can get it for like $10 now with all the DLC. And for that money it's definitely worth it.

I found myself enjoying the second playthrough even though I didn't care much for it the first time I played it. And only because I chose to play as a female Hawke the second time around. It was a different experience.

This might interest a few of you:

I watched the first 5 minutes and realised I didn't need to see anymore. It's one of those games where I don't want to know a lot abou it. Definite purchase for me.

So can someone tell me how open the world will be? Will there be big cities where you can buy stuff? will there be mini games like gambling and stuff?

Do I have to switch between the characters or can I play the whole game with only one of them? I dont really like it when you have partners in games. I dont like to pay attention so that they dont die or stuff.

in terms of gameplay, Dragon Age 3 will be slightly different than the titles before it, but not by much.

I can tell you for sure that the world is 'open' in the sense that you're not stuck to missions or quests.

after a certain point early on you should be able to fast travel to most locations and wander around. there are definitely large cities and small towns where some items can only be found in one or the other. like you might expect the Dwarven cities to have some really cool armor for a Warrior, while the Elven towns might have some really sweet weapons for an Archer / Rogue. there are some minigames, there might be gambling.

you play mostly as the hero character (who appears in all cutscenes) but during gameplay you can switch between any of the characters in your party.

during your adventure, your camp might fill up with almost 10 different allies. when you go out and travel the game world you select from 3 of them to complete your 4-man party. and then you can jump between any of those 4 while playing.

if you'd like, you could technically go out and play the game alone with no one in your party.

but you'll probably die. you need the basic Tank, Healer, DPS, DPS combo to be successful.

I am pre-loaded since Friday and ready.

Honestly more excited for this than GTAV next-gen and Far Cry 4, of my pre-orders for tomorrow. I've already played GTAV on PS3 and it doesn't look like R* added much of the new aside from improved graphics and FPV so...

Lawd...DA is back.

My internet sucks so my preload is taking forever. Looks like I won't be playing it at launch tonight. Damn

I just did it as well. I'm preloading it at the moment. I was pretty hesitant, but I decided to go for it since I wanted something new to play until The Witcher 3 next year.

Just started playing this morning and I already like it a lot. Gameplay is smooth but takes some getting used to after having played Origins and 2. I keep hitting space to stop time and it jumps now. Cutscenes are a tiny bit choppy so I need to tweak the settings a bit

Cutscenes are capped to 30 fps. My average fps is 45 on high settings, so when the cutscenes come up the fps just tanks to 30 and it looks choppy...

It doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. I looked on the Bioware forums and there's a fix for it already I think.

I tried the fix I saw on some forums and it f*cked the cutscenes up. Yes they were smoother but everything was in super fast speed.

I believe he lives in The Netherlands? Somewhere in Europe, at least. He cannot play because the game releases on November 20th in Europe. North America got it on the 18th, today. He can use a VPN to get around it and connect to somewhere in the US. I used a VPN in South Korea to play a few hours early. Did that for a couple games on Origin and it's fine. They only come after you if you use a VPN to purchase a game at a lower cost. However, if you have not been charged for you pre-order yet, don't use a VPN for obvious reasons. At this point, they should have charged everyone though.

EDIT: If you use a VPN, you do not have to leave it on. Just turn it on, start Origin, start the game. Get to the main menu. Turn the game off. Turn off the VPN. LEAVE ORIGIN ON and start the game again. As long as you leave Origin on, you do not have to use the VPN again.

Been playing since yesterday, on and off, have about a little over 2 hours on my save game. I am loving it. DA is back. World feels massive. So much to do. So much exploring, quests, side-quests. I actually love the whole gameplay in relation to the Inquisition i.e. war room mechanics etc.

Right now:

Spoiler

We shall see tonight!

I'm off tomorrow so got a whole idea to create a character, usually that takes me about a day. The race is already chosen; dwarf.
