how do i get on the whitelist I'm a huge fan of GTA i really wanna play on the server

 

It isn't a GTA Minecraft Server - it's just a normal survival server, it's just hosted by a few people who are on GTAForums.

Latest version of MC is 1.7.4, but the server's 1.7.2.

Hmm. I'm using Magic Launcher and it didn't tell me there was a newer version. I had to fire the vanilla launcher for it to update.

 

Still, the older client says "1.3" next to the GTA Forums server, and when i mouse over it says "Server out of date". Not sure why that is.

Because the old client is restricted to 1.3, as no one uses it anymore, so the old client doesn't know that the latest version of Minecraft (and the server) is 1.7.3.
To play on the servers and to play Minecraft on the latest version (and most likely all servers now, as they should be updated to the latest Minecraft version, but even if not - there's an option in the new client/launcher to play older versions of Minecraft), download the new client/launcher here:

We could give 'em a large area up in the north. Map is really big, so there's no reason to keep newbville super small or anything.

I'll get tinkering with the permissions again so we can make sure griefers can't destroy anything, once done I'll open the whitelist.

OK - I've turned off the whitelist

 

Instead of having a Noobton I've tweaked permissions so that every new player first spawns a bit away from the real spawn (near the path so still close, /spawn is still the same place).

 

I've protected the entire spawn town so they can't place, break, set fire or place lava unless placed into the trusted group - just like TPL - the rest of the surrounding world is fair game. This is so everyone new can still stay central instead of some far away place.

 

** I will protect individual player's houses or lands if you want me to, because the rest of the world is fair game as I've already said, just ask in the topic or give me co-ords/a screen of the live map.

 

** Because I've changed groups, everyone who has been on (apart from mods) will spawn as a newbie as default and thus won't be able to do anything inside spawn town. Make sure you post in the topic so I see it when I am online and can move you to trusted, as I know most of us can be on the server at different times.
