Even though the weather and the sky change overtime during the night in gta 4, no matter what time it is, even if it's like 4 or 5 in the morning the buildings are still going to have a whole bunch of lights on, just like it would at 9pm. I feel like as the night progresses more and more people should turn off their lights. Get my point? for example when i played ultimate spider for the ps2, it had a night time full of lights and everything and another one which is closer to the morning when basically all the lights are off. I think this should be in gta 5. sorry if i made it confusing(my 1st post lol)

This makes sense for rural areas and smaller towns, but if you look at commercial buildings in big cities, lights are always going to be on as most buildings have cleaning crews working overnight. It would be a great detail if more light were off at 4:00 am as apposed to 9:00 pm, but it's a small detail that's ultimately not that important.

I like this idea. Would work especially great in the small towns, assuming they're included in GTA V.

I live in Chicago and it does happen, maybe not at 2 or 3 but when the sky starts turning blue the whole atmosphere is quiet and there aren't many lights on

in my country lights for all buildings higher than 8 floors are required to have lights turned on from evening to 7AM next morning

its the same. any condo or studio houses( which is about 95% of the houses here since the country is small) above 3 floors must have lights on. some of them even have lights on 24/7

The only thing GTA 'needs' is cars, guns and a nice big city.

Probably the worst OT reply...
OT: Yeah, it's a great idea.. Though the guy talking about the lighting rule in his country is probably right, but that is his country, not USA. Having a rule about building higher than three floors should be lighted all the time is nonsense.

It's a good thing IV had as many lights as possible on during the night that game was dark.

It would totally change the feel but I support. It should actually feel like you're driving at 2am.

Hopefully they change the lighting anyway, way too dark in IV.

I want to see the garbage men actually pick something up for once. Then again, if they did their job there wouldn't be all that street clutter for me to plough through.

Just Cause 2 had this. icon14.gif

When you mention night time in GTA V. I would like to see the lights glitter the city even from afar. GTA IV had this. But too me it could have been alot better because it was a bit dull. lol.

This. And if you look at time lapse videos of GTAIV on YouTube, lights switch on/off. It's not as good as those in L.A. Noire, but it was still there...
