Whats your preference? Im thinking of taking a leap into PC gaming and ditching consoles for good. I like the way you can mod them, and be totally free on PC. So what do you think?

Consoles.
Why? Exclusives, that's the main reason why i prefer PS3 over my old 360 and my quite crappy PC (another reason for not getting into PC gaming).

The only exlusive game I ever cared for was RDR. Everything else: PC.

PC because you can use the mouse and keyboard and the majority of the time you can play games needing only one hand.

Play IV with iCenancer/ENB and you will want every game released on PC.

I know I'd prefer PC, but currently do not have the funds, or a good enough internet connection, to make PC my primary platform.

So, I have to settle for console right now.

Few years back I would have said consoles. But now? PC gaming, though I still do play on console.

Have always been primarily a console gamer but have had my fare share of PC gaming in the past. Not played many modern PC games recently as i have a computer that just about runs San Andreas.

I've seen the images of IV's iCenancer/ENB which trip mentioned and it looks fantastic, so would like a PC that is capable of running things like that one day.

Historically, consoles, but a few weeks back I bought myself a gaming PC. I'm now using my PC to game just as much as my console. I'm currently playing GTA:IV, which I thought I'd find difficult to play due to keyboard and mouse controls, but much to my surprise, I actually found the game a lot easier to play than on console. I don't think I'll ever stop playing my PS3, though; I've got a lot more friends who game on PS3 than on PC, and the PS3 has got some pretty good exclusives that I would definitely miss if I ditched console gaming altogether. I can enjoy both, right?

Only reason I play PC games.

But to answer your question OP, I have to go with Console. (PS3 and XBOX360.)

I always look at it like this.

PC-Modding and graphics
Console-Comfort, Convenience, Gameplay.

I prefer console because I would rather be able to sit back and relax on a couch with an easy to use controller than sit hunched over in front of a computer monitor struggling to use a mouse and keyboard to play a game.

PC really only works for strategy and simulation games and FPS because playing action games like GTA with the mouse and keyboard is near impossible. I have GTA 3 for PC and driving is impossible and shooting is near impossible (seriously no lock on? mercie_blink.gif )

Speak for yourself dude. Really.

A keyboard and mouse will always be easier to use than a controller.

Console over PC, More games, better controls (Yes Joysticks are better than Mouse and Keyboard, sensitivity helps.) but unfortunately not as powerful and no modding which makes PC an amazing gaming platform. Had I been forced to choose between them though I'd most likely choose consoles.

PC is the best becaus of modding ofcourse, you can do lots of things on a PC besids gaming too. If you have a laptop then you can even carry it and lay whereever you like. If you hav a console and say that it's better because its cheaper then think again. You need a TV also to play the game, a decent TV plus a console can cost at least as much money as a normal PC which can play most games decently.
Let's take a normal cheaper 32" TV for example, costs about 300-400 euros. An Xbox costs about 200 euros, an PS3 even more, 270 euros. For that money you can get a decent PC that will play all the games you want. Ofcourse the catch is that you also need a display and a keyboard and a mouse...also maybe some speakers. That will cost about 150-200 euros more. But you get a machine that can store more games, play them with better resolutions, with better details and quality and you can all kind of other BS beside gaming also...like watching porn for example. Also, another good thing is...console players can connect a xbox controller to a PC and play most games with that.
Another bad thing about consoles, well i have noticed it, they are so slow that it's painful actually. And how are joysticks better? Those sticks are horrible to control when compared to a mouse. Mouses have more control and more sensitivity. I have a relatively cheap mouse and i can change the dpi with a buttn when i want.

Pretty much it's also like this: PC players actually need skills to play a game, console players rely on the lock on's.

It isnt impossible you are just used to console controls I used to think exact opposite when I wasnt used to console controls. Anyway I cant decide between console and pc as I often play with gamepad on pc but probably console controls are better on GTAs.

Well what i seen was an awesome setup. Ive got a 43 inch LCD TV that has HDMI ports. if i was to get a gaming pc i could use the HDMI connection for it, then get a bluetooth dongle and connect a wii remote as a mouse, and get a wireless keyboard. Then a 360 controller for games. Never need a mouse again. smile.gif

I prefer being able to sit down on my couch and play, and I'm definitely more accustomed to a controller than a keyboard and mouse, but I do have a few small games on the PC. In a few years I will upgrade heavily and get more games on it, then I'll see about getting familiar more with the keyboard and mouse than when I play the old school Red Faction or GTA III trilogy. Either that or I'll just get a gaming controller for it.

I would have to go with Consoles. (not hating on PC, I'll get to that in a bit.)

The reason I would have to go with consoles is because I will not, take the time to spend money on a graphics card, ram, other crap like that, and then not play PC... I did this once and I never played games on my PC. Now, I have a computer that manages to just play games. I have no clue how, but yea.

With consoles, you get what you need.

-The Cables
-The System
-The Controller(s)
-Batteries for the Controller(s)
-Sometimes a headset.
-Sometimes a game.

I would rather spend money on $60 dollar games, it's cheaper than upgrading your PC, imo.

Upgrade your PC once ad you can play games on it quite a long time. Also, console games are expensive as sh*t. All the games for PC are a lot cheaper. Nobody also says you can't sit on a couch to play PC games. If possible just make your TV a display and there you go. If you have wireless keyboard and mouse then all the better.
Also, PC is a multiunit. You can use it for whatever please you. I hate having many devices, one that can do everything is just right.

The problem is, not buying the upgrades, but how to open my laptop... dontgetit.gif I would love to upgrade this. I could finally play all of my favorite games!

My computer is a Toshiba L755-S5153. Go figure.
