They should have 48 minute days BUT also have a wait button.

Days always been twenty four minutes long (representing twenty four hours in game) and I don't believe they are going to change it.

Personally, I'm used to that system since I started playing Grand Theft Auto games and I prefer it that way and, honestly, forty eight minutes would be way too long in my opinion. About day and night transition: I feel it's alright as it is.

It's 48 minutes (2 seconds per in-game minute) a day in IV.
I think that was good.
Definitely not shorter than that and MAYBE 72 but I trust R* knows what they're doing anyway.

also in-game minutes should be in multiples of whole seconds. fractions of a second will just complicate things.
so it shouldn't be somewhere in the "middle".

Why do you put "24 min (standard)"? The standard in GTA IV is 48 hours, and for GTA V I want the same or more.

I think it would be interesting if they slowed the pace of the game down all together. It would be cool if you got pulled over for realistic things like going through a red light and driving on the sidewalk. If they were able to slow the pace of the game down I would love longer days and nights. I would also love for the seasons to change.

I think even 48 minutes is too short.. why not double it so it actually feels like having lived a day in gta iv?

Why is 24 minutes described as standard? It should be at 48 minutes.. throw in less than 48 minutes and more than 48 minutes in the poll.

It has been 48 minutes since IV (before that it was 24).. why would they go backwards again?

I prefer either as usual 48 minutes or even longer (72 minutes -> 3sec = 1min)

In the III era a day take 24 minutes. OT: I'd like 72minutes reallife are a day ingame. In GTA IV the shadows move too fast because time was too fast too. That looks weird in my opinion. monocle.gif

Ideally one minute in real time should equal about fifteen minutes in-game time. I think that's how is was in Red Dead Redemption. 96 minutes per day.

RDR had the time just about right. So what ever RDR is than that's what V should be.

I agree that it should be the same as RDR. I hated night time in RDR because majority of the map is countryside with no lights it was pitch black dark. The game is unplayable (especially with a tv with a reflective display) at night.

1 game minute = 5 real minutes

That would be good, hell even 10 real minutes to 1 game minute.

This will make the days & nights longer & the different weather conditions will last longer so you can 'enjoy' them

IV was perfect for me. Making the days loner would be a pain when we had to deal with certain time missions, activities etc.

The days in RDR dragged along. What they had in IV was perfect.

IV was way too short.

60 or 72 minutes is best. In IV 48 minutes sometimes felt short compared to how long missions and drives took. V is gonna much bigger and I don't want a simple drive into the countryside and back take like 4 in game days.

RDR's system is fine, but im sure its days are longer than IV's

I would like it a LITTLE longer - i dont want real time, but i would like a touch longer to enjoy day/night.

Hope you mistyped that mate, because making the actual game slower than real time would be a genuine pain in the arse.. tounge.gif

So 1 in game hour = 10 real minutes, that makes sence. That makes one day in GTA V last 2 hours.

60min for 1 day is what I'd like. At least 48 min are needed IMO.

If I remember correctly RDR's days were nearly twice as long as IV's I believe somewhere around 70 -80 minutes and that felt just right.

i would like the day to be 72 minutes long but there should be an option when you start the game so people can choose out of 24 min, 48 min or 72 min, maybe even 96 min..

If what it is currently "feels alright", then you want it to be 48 minutes. That's what it was in GTA IV.

OT: I like 48 minutes. Juuust right.

I feel like days are too short to appreciate the animations that go with day night transition and vice versa.

This.

Some times I like to go around creeping at night doing a few murders here and there but I always find it gets bright too quickly. I know there are cheats but I don't want to add cheats to my save games.

I'm not too bothered but I would like for time to slow during missions. Maybe it could slow all the way to real time, I don't know.

I know that time is supposed to match distance so that if you're driving to the other end of the city it has apparently taken hours, but during the larger gunfights in IV, you could see the sun come up and go down again . . .

I don't think they would make it shorter than 48 min.
Like someone else said (one of the mods) It would make sense for them
to increase the time because of the map being said to be Rockstar's largest yet.

I would say between 48 and 80 min would be pretty cool to have. I (Like others) also hated how
I would finish a mission in IV then it's already starting to get dark . confused.gif

I want as much Cali sun as possible icon14.gif
