Days always been twenty four minutes long (representing twenty four hours in game) and I don't believe they are going to change it. Personally, I'm used to that system since I started playing Grand Theft Auto games and I prefer it that way and, honestly, forty eight minutes would be way too long in my opinion. About day and night transition: I feel it's alright as it is. |
It's 48 minutes (2 seconds per in-game minute) a day in IV.
I think that was good.
Definitely not shorter than that and MAYBE 72 but I trust R* knows what they're doing anyway.
also in-game minutes should be in multiples of whole seconds. fractions of a second will just complicate things.
so it shouldn't be somewhere in the "middle".

It has been 48 minutes since IV (before that it was 24).. why would they go backwards again?
I prefer either as usual 48 minutes or even longer (72 minutes -> 3sec = 1min)

Why do you put "24 min (standard)"? The standard in GTA IV is 48 hours, and for GTA V I want the same or more. |
In the III era a day take 24 minutes. OT: I'd like 72minutes reallife are a day ingame. In GTA IV the shadows move too fast because time was too fast too. That looks weird in my opinion.

That would be good, hell even 10 real minutes to 1 game minute.
This will make the days & nights longer & the different weather conditions will last longer so you can 'enjoy' them

The days in RDR dragged along. What they had in IV was perfect. |
IV was way too short.

1 game minute = 5 real minutes That would be good, hell even 10 real minutes to 1 game minute. This will make the days & nights longer & the different weather conditions will last longer so you can 'enjoy' them |
Hope you mistyped that mate, because making the actual game slower than real time would be a genuine pain in the arse..

So 1 in game hour = 10 real minutes, that makes sence. That makes one day in GTA V last 2 hours.

60 or 72 minutes is best. In IV 48 minutes sometimes felt short compared to how long missions and drives took. V is gonna much bigger and I don't want a simple drive into the countryside and back take like 4 in game days. |
^Exactly this.

If what it is currently "feels alright", then you want it to be 48 minutes. That's what it was in GTA IV.
OT: I like 48 minutes. Juuust right.

I feel like days are too short to appreciate the animations that go with day night transition and vice versa. |
This.
Some times I like to go around creeping at night doing a few murders here and there but I always find it gets bright too quickly. I know there are cheats but I don't want to add cheats to my save games.

I know that time is supposed to match distance so that if you're driving to the other end of the city it has apparently taken hours, but during the larger gunfights in IV, you could see the sun come up and go down again . . .

Like someone else said (one of the mods) It would make sense for them
to increase the time because of the map being said to be Rockstar's largest yet.
I would say between 48 and 80 min would be pretty cool to have. I (Like others) also hated how
I would finish a mission in IV then it's already starting to get dark .

I want as much Cali sun as possible
