Updated to 3.3 and now get constant errors while cruising around the city. The game freezes nearly every time after 5-10 minutes of gameplay. Debug information for these errors is also different. Is that because of mvl mod?

I remember now all these errors have the same last opcode executed "0001 wait" and //thread bikers0 sarcasm.gif


Also is it POSSIBLE to complete "Trial by fire"? The mission wasn't that difficult in original gta III and it was already discussed somewhere at the forums.

There is btw something wrong with spawning peds & vehicles around the city in general in this beta, I often drive in empty streets (with hardly 1-2 cars) no matter day or night it is.

.. so is there a tip to deal with "Trial by fire" without editing main.scm or anything?

It's easier with a pcj, but still quite difficult. I passed it without changing the code. Also if you just keep rotating while firing.

I got 100%--cool rewards, but no VC SMG.

Suggestion: the ability to start a new game with the rewards.

We used the smg slit for the GTA3 uzi. That was long before we ever considered using the other weapons. We could overwrite one of the other vc ones.

I've been trying to think of a way to restart the missions after 100% is done for a while now. A lot of code would have to be changed. I do have a general idea of how it can happen.

Nothing against MVL being a supported unofficial mod, I was rather referring to an idea of including it as a part of official release.

Yes, I agree... MVL shouldn't be the official part of LC, unless Max wants to make a special version, adaptation for this mod. If he does, then perhaps MVL could be integrated with the game, but disabled by default.

Thanks. I haven't had enough time to go exactly to 100% but I see they have cool 100% rewards. I'll download the save when I get to my PC.

Make sure you're using the scm file that was included with the 3.3 files or the one in the 33fix package. The newer scm file would not be compatible with his save.

I asked rwms. for help in converting them. He said he couldn't help me but pointed me in the direction of another user. I PM'd him/her and never got a response. So we're back where we started.

If anyone would know how to convert the III XBOX character models to VC/PC, I'd love to use them.

Don't get me wrong - I can convert actor models, I just can't import pedestrians properly.

That would be a great start and I'd love to have those. Perhaps with those models (including the head models) we could figure out full cutscenes again.

I can convert models directly between versions, BUT I cannot rig them so if you're fine with finding another person to rig them for you, I'd be happy to convert them to VC for you. In fact I'm 99% sure I can convert them already rigged but I'm not sure if they're directly VC compatible.

EDIT: I tried but it doesn't seem to have worked as well as other xbox models I've converted unfortunatly confused.gif

The peds are exactly the same on the XBOX version except all their joints are vertex welded together.

Hey guy glad to hear you are getting on well with the project biggrin.gif i just wondered *stupid question* when you said gta:lc is it liberty city stories and vice city stories or just liberty city stories? sorry if this confuses you like i have just done to myself xD

There's very little to do and the easy stuff was done over a half a decade ago. The two things I'd like to have done in the near future is to convert the character models from the XBOX version and get the cutscene heads working again.
