F*ck that. Loved the first game. No cockpit because of the consoles is 100% a deal breaker for me. You don't get best sellers when you cut corners.

I like how they said that only 5% of gamers use cockpit view, but a majority of the people I've seen reply to this topic consider it a deal breaker, I wonder if they really know what they're doing to the core gaming crowd, if they want to appeal to the casual gaming demographic then they could just do what they are doing now but include cockpit view to satisfy the large amount of people that do want it. Codemasters are stupid. Also, nice GIFs.

Ever since I've started playing racing games I've always used cockpit view where it was available. I don't know where they got that 5% from because it's total bullsh*t. I'm on a few racing forums and everyone uses cockpit/bonnet view. It should be more like 95% of gamers use cockpit view. Really disappointing to see Codemasters to stoop to this, they made great interiors in DiRT and GRID 1.

Wait! Did they really say they removed cockpit view because of current gen consoles?? Are they f*cking retarded?? How did GT5 have cockpit view then? What about Forza? What about F1 games and NFS?

Only NFS Shift and Shift 2 had cockpit... don't say all NFS' had cockpit. Also, Forza always has cockpit. I think it's only because GRID 2 is very graphically detailed.

I didn't mean all NFS games. My bad, i should have specified Shift and Shift 2, either way, look how graphically detailed Shift and Shift 2 are yet they have cockpit view. GT5 and Forza are also very detailed...

imho, Forza 4 looked choppy on my TV. It made GTA IV look better actually. I never played GT5 though.

If you have a TV bigger than 32", and is obviously LCD/LED it will obviously look choppy. I've got a 32" which is perfect and GT5 looks BEAUTIFUL.

Codemasters has finally shed some light on the best part of GRID 2, its multiplayer mode.

The original GRID will always have a place in my heart as being one of the best racing games around, the destruction and the way the cars handled was perfect. Not to mention how fun multiplayer was with the right crowdget into a room full of idiots and you were always going to end up smashed into a wall at the first corner.

The publisher released a brief feature list for GRID 2s multiplayer which you can check out below:

Up to 12 player online racing
2 player split-screen racing
Play up to 10 different events including LiveRoutes
Full integration with RaceNet including planned dedicated apps visit www.racenet.com for more.
Enjoy an entirely separate multiplayer game featuring deep progression unlock new cars and modifications and you earn cash and XP
Always have someone to compete against with GRID 2 Rivals
Take your race with you with RaceNet apps set for release around launch
Customise and modify your vehicles
Anti-griefing technology ensures fair racing

They got that data from their online servers. 5% of people that played online through their servers used cockpit view.

GRID 2 is now available for preorder at Steam! And surprisingly enough at a good price and with the best preorder bonus you will find (all 4 DLC packs + GRID 1).

The DLC for a game that hasn't even been released yet, should already be in the game, so I would consider that standard and not a pre-order bonus, even though it actually is. The original GRID is a nice bonus though, especially with the 27 price tag.

Here's a game I'm not really sure to whether buy it for PC or PS3.

I haven't bought any PS3 games lately (last one was FIFA 13), but that PC pre-order bonus looks cool.

As long as your PC can play it at max settings at 60 FPS or above, I'd get it for PC, since I think it's a bit cheaper on Steam. If not then get it for PS3 as that always has satisfactory graphics at a frame rate that very rarely drops.

Considering how well-optimized the first GRID was for PC, i'd think GRID 2 will run relatively well too.

Anyway, get preordering on steam guys!

Well since theres nearly a week left i thought i'd bump this topic. The game looks great, little bit bummed about cockpit view but i can get over it. I cant wait to drive the indycar that was the pre order bonus.

Is there anything that makes this game unique over a game like Grand Tourismo or Forza? Im a big fan of the two but havent played GRID before, lately Ive been looking at some development videos and the most I see that sets them apart is the tracks are mostly custom tracks.

There is LiveRoutes which is where the track changes every lap

That sounds pretty cool also. Im definitely thinking about picking this up I just need to find a way to squeeze it into my budget also trying to find a bigger reason to make this a must get.
