LAST PART IX. Equipment
The equipment "weapons" mostly take part in missions or side-missions.
1. Paint Spray
The purpose of this weapon is simple. Spraying tags as a side-mission. Also, will temporarily disable a NPC.
Collectable (Los Santos): Spray All 100 Tags and CJ gets an Arms Cache in His Kitchen: AK-47, Tec-9, Sawn off Shoutgun, and Molotov Cocktails.
Quick FREE pickup on CJ's Roof. And On high road behind a 'slab house' above cliff.
The Gang Tags can be sprayed (100 of them) before you do any other missions to earn the arms cache in CJ's kitchen. However, when you do the tagging the turf mission you will have to redo six (6) of them.
Used to take photos, and used in a mission and a side-mission.
Excellant for use in gang wars to spot distant enemy approachs.
Collectable (San Fiero): Take all 50 Snap-Shots and CJ will get $100,000 plus an Arms Cache by the Doherty Garage: Handgrenades, mini-SMG, Shotgun, and Sniper-Rifle.
Quick FREE pickup in CJ's bedroom.
Many are scattered all over San Fiero.
3. Fire extinguisher
Another simple concept, used to make fire magically disappear.
FREE pickup in most Fast Food shops.
Used to slow down falls from a high altitude. Used in a variety of missions, also, best used while bailing from a plane/helicopter.
If the Parachute is equipped CJ's melee attacks can damage vehicles and NPCs protected by immunities.
FREE pickup on roof of the Tallest Building in each city (
Los Santos, San Fiero, and Las Venturas.)
5a. Thermal* Goggles Goggles
There's much to say about these,but the names of these "weapons" already tell you what's important. They do not respawn so once collect that's it.

Issued in 'Black Project'.
*Misnomer as Thermal Goggles highlight NPCs, not vehicles.
There appears to be much confusion as to which (thermal/night) are located where.
5b. Night-Vision Goggles
Night Vision Goggles allow seeing in the dark it doesn't highlight anything.
Available after 'Breaking the Bank at Caligula's'.
Pickups are restricted Access:
Sherman Dam Generator Room.
Big Smoke's Crack Factory,
Madd Dogg's Mansion,
There appears to be much confusion as to which (thermal/night) are located where.
6. Detonator (aka: Remote Button)
Comes with throwing a satchel charge. Used to blow it up.
FREE when you pickup Demolition Charges. X. Gifts/Other
Strangely, this acts like a katana, but it doesn't belong to that group. That's all I can say.
FREE pickup behind the VI'N'EWOOD sign.
FREE pickup in the RS Haul (Mr. Whittaker's) Yard.
It can be given as a gift to your girlfriend, but it's also a fun melee weapon to play with.
FREE pickup in Glen Park, Verona Beach Chili Dog Vendor, Walled Cemetary.
They all work the same, only diferrence is name and look. It can be given to your girlfriend as a gift, or you can beat other people with it.
FREE, as Every police interior has one Spawn Points Full credit goes to lil weasel.
Weapons early on:
On roof of the Jefferson Motel is a sub-machine gun (SMG).
On the patio of one of the houses north of Jefferson Motel is another SMG.
On the roof of Sweet’s house (to East of CJ's) is a Tec9. Another is under the bridge S/W. of C.J.'s
A 9mm pistol is in the back yard corner near the Highway wall East of C.J.'s.

Tec-9 under highway bridge near the round building at the Los Santos Airport.
Hand grenade in front of 'slab house' on the Highroad almost across from the Paint canister location.
Hand grenade is behind the food stall half way down the boardwalk at Santa Maria Beach.
In a Playa Del Seville Parking Garage on various levels are a Machine Pistol and grenades.
Go to the Dillamore Police Garage there is usually a (PS2 only).Panda parked there that you can get a shotgun
Any Police Car/truck will give you a shotgun (if you don't have another type shotgun in your possession.
The SWAT Van gives you Body Armour.
The SWAT Tank (EOL mission) has no item.
Any enterable Police Station will have a Shotgun, Body Armour, 9mm Pistol, Dildo and Nightstick.
There are many more items just EXPLORE for them.
Health can be restored at Food Vendor carts and machines, also, at restaurants when they open.
Health (a very minor bit) can be aquired by getting into an Ambulance the first time.
Health can be restored by walking into a Heart pickup.
Gang Wars: the first wave prize is a Heart pickup. On subsequent waves a Heart and Body Armour pickup will appear. Missions which change/take away the player's weapons Credit to lil weasel and OrionSR.
Ammu-Nation availability Full credit to lil weasel.

| Just Business || Arms CJ with a Micro-SMG. Leaves 40 rounds per gun Sub-Machinegun at the end. |
| Burning Desire || Arms CJ with Molotov Cocktails and a Fire Extinguisher. Removes any remaining Cocktails. |
| Doberman || Opens the Ammu-Nation Store.|

A Katana is issued in a cut-scene, but can be avoided
if the boss is killed before entering the ship’s bridge.

If CJ lands in the water it will appear that he lost his weapons.
He hasn’t. The weapons will be returned to CJ at the end of the mission,
unless you rearm CJ with anything other than the Knife which is
provided in the mission.
| Freefall || Arms CJ with the 9mm pistol. |
| Up, Up and Away || if you use the Mini-gun emplacement on the roof it will remove any other Heavy Weapon CJ had. |

When you beat the game 100% you earn Unlimited Ammuntion.
You will see whatever the ammo count was at game end, BUT when you 'run out' it will automatically reload. The Ammunition Glitch
at the Ammu-Nation Store Range:
(This is Not a Cheat.)
While having the Tec-9 in CJ’s possession entering the Ammu-Nation challenge and immediately cancelling it will double the current ammo count of Assault Rifle, Rifle, Shotguns (except *the Standard shotgun), Sniper-Rifle, Pistol.
After raising the ammo count you can pickup another Machine Gun.
Each time you cancel the range test the ammo count doubles for the acceptable weapons.
*Having the Standard shotgun in CJ’s possession will remove all shotgun ammunition.
When the ammo count disappears you have over 9,999 rounds. You DO-NOT have infinite ammo, as soon as the count drops below 10,000 it will show again.
Infinite ammo is earned ONLY by completing the game
with 100%. The Skills Improvement Trick :
(This is not a cheat.)
You may improve the skill CJ has by parking vehicles in a Safe House Garage. You then shoot the Vehicle(s) until they start to burn. Walk away letting the Garage door close. The Garage will repair the vehicle. You may then repeat the process until the weapon reachs the desired level. Note: that, although high, the Garages do have a limit to the amount of repairs they can make. Well, that's it! The topic is now open for questions, error reports and tips!
