How to change Draw Distance multiplier?
- open "override.txt" (in GTA Vice City folder):
   drawdist 3.00  <- Multiplier
   loddist 450      <- DD for LOD objects

How to remove 3D grass?
- open gta_vc.dat (file in: ...GTA Vice City/data), scroll down and delete everything below "# Grass system"

How to disable/enable TRAILS?
- you can change it in the game options dialog

Are you using XBOX peds? I heard they look much better (i.e. separate fingers, more human looking, etc).

Models peds in and out cutscenes for GTA VC PC and XBOX are fully identical.

Oh. I thought that Rockstar gave the special treatment for the XBOX version like they did with III.

You're going to make completely new peds? I hope you try to make them look as similar as possible to the original ones to keep the original vibe of the game.

That's our mod purpose - try to preserve the original style of the city.
Same with peds - we'll remake some of them and we'll try to keep their original appearance.

BTW - when we'll get to that stage with peds, we'll need help with rigging. smile.gif


But at the moment we're focused on static models. I'll show you a comparison next time (org. Vice City models vs Vice Cry models).

I have a problem with your mod. The roads have terrible glows. Can I fix it somehow?

So... You guys making a great work. and I hope you'll release something like DLC for Vice Cry with dark road textures like in SRT3, which looks much better than current "white" roads.

just curious if there is a release of 1.8 coming out soon. you haven't said on any of your pages(that I have noticed) and i can't get 1.7 to work, just thought I could wait for 1.8 and try it instead.

It's been a long time...

Sorry for this big lack of info. I'm very lazy :F


So we were focused on the docks. Really small part of the whole city. After... let's say... a month of work, we have something like this:

Docks are completed (in our opinion).

Now we're changing the airport area:

If someone is interested:
There will be the "Insane Veg-Edition" of Vice Cry - a special version of the mod with horribly big amount of vegetation. Example:

Yep, it's for Vice City (I see it wasn't precised).
Also we have enough 'volunteers' :F but I'll remeber you.



I'm going to finish the airport area soon. Original VC poly structures scares me...

BTW - What do we have after 2.5 yers of development?

So is isn't released yet huh? No release date either?

I just installed VC and am pretty disappointed. The game starts up and loads fine, but as soon as I install Vice Cry 1.7 I get the infamous "Unhandled Exception" error every time I try to start a new game... sad.gif

We have a small... let's say... stagnation (studies are boring but important).

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually dug around more today and found the 1.7.1 patch. For some reason the ModDB page I was on only had the 1.7.2 patch!

It seems to be working great now. turn.gif
