this is just a speculation...
since the game is focused on "pursuit of the almighty dollar" i think it will be cool to have a stock market involved in the story.

i am not talking about some random stock gambling like betting on horse races back in GTASA which you would buy some stock and wait for something to happen. i am talking about being able to buy stocks and manipulate the market to make profit.

for example we can invest in a company and later we can go hurt this company's rivals. like hitting their shops, factories and trucks. Or we can buy a large amount of stocks to create a false demand and suddenly sell all of them to crash those noob traders. there can be a scumbag broker or banker in the storyline too.

i believe a dynamic stock market will add depth to the game and it will be quite profitable.

what are your thoughts?

PS: sorry for the bad english

It has been discussed at least 2 times before. Yes, a stock market mini-game would be killer in a game where money will play such a big deal. I really hope it's going to be in the game.

How exactly is that not GTA? He's talking of investing in a company, and then committing criminal acts such as murder and vandalism to up the companies stocks. Did you even read?

I think it would be great. Like you said it's the pursuit of the almighty dollar. Since the game will be set in 2012/2013 then it makes sense that the financial crisis is important in the game. Also, if they brought back the ability to purchase houses/clubs/shops then they would be affected by the stock markets.

It can be too complicated for a lot of people though so I don't know how they'd do it.

it will be annoying like in vcs, when doing free roam or in a mission, they call you and tell you that one of your properties are under attack

It would really bring another dimension to the game if this was possible.

i love the idea. i love everything that can add depth and longevity to the game. i also love the "this is not gta, this is not the sims" guys. According to them, all we need is fast cars and big guns.

Same, I think it would be great if they got it right.

I don't understand why people want something to stay the same forever. It get's boring! Sure, I LOVE the classic GTA games but it needs to grow and evolve into something different what ever that may be.

This is the reason I stopped buying Call of Duty games. I loved COD4 but then they came out with MW2 and MW3. I wonder when MW4 will be out? We'll probably start hearing rumours the week after Black Ops 2 is out confused.gif Black Ops 2 changed to the whole futuristic thing but apart from that I see no reason why I would want to buy it. Just so boring, IMO.

It's the same with a lot of things. Movies tend to be similar to their previous films. With bands you always get people saying "Their last album SUCKED! They aren't PUNK ROCK anymore! They should go back to their old style!" Yes, it would be great to hear more songs like that but where would that put the band? They'd get bored making the same old sh*t over and over again. It's not creative.

Video games are no different. They need to change and bring something new to the table. People just don't like change.

Also, adding dynamic "realism" stuff like a stock market, that could only be an OPTIONAL sort of mini-game, would not remove the ability to go around with a bazooka blowing stuff and driving by old ladys like every damn casual gta gamer likes to do.
So it goes with the rpg elements like there were in san andreas. I think it is simple : if gta v gives the ability to use fuel, buy food to fill hunger and other stuff, JUST MAKE IT OPTIONAL so that the casual steven segal player don't have complaints and everybody is happy

can you please take a moment and read the post before you reply? i did not say anything about defending properties. i hated those too. i am talking about the exact opposite. invest and attack rival properties which will be fun and profitable in my opinion.

I think they need to work on their real-life stock market before worrying about a virtual one. They anticipated huge-ass sales from sitting around doing nothing and throwing MP3 in our faces and nobody still cares. Watch them go down... and then before you know it, they'll announce it's the last GTA they make.

Since when did your properties get attacked in missions?

I love it how GTAF immediately denies a theory because it's not "GTA's WAY", lol.

pay attention to the gameplay trailer, in the video they say you can put your money in risky investments like stocks.
