if you make hd textures pls make them as an add on, becouse someone wants to play in hd someone like so play in original biggrin.gif

Nice work Garju67! Keep it up, it looks clean and polished for some early work smile.gif

I remember trying to convert II to SA one day, but the amount of triangles on meshes made it really hard, the way texture were sorted as well, and clusterf*ck of alpha cards everywhere in the street!

This is cool. As for the additional objects (trees, benches, etc), they will be placed in the same spot as they are in GTA2?

You should make GTA1 and London too and a unified menu for them like IV-EFLC. biggrin.gif That'd be cool, uhhuhuhuhuh. </Butthead laugh>

That would be possible for two games if he made it on EFLC.

However for IV he can use a launcher that switches the gta.dat so it loads different files depending on the button you click. Thats what IV SA 3 has, and most likely what Ghostown has.

Looks excellent, I hope this one doesn't die... let's hope I didn't jinx it.
A London conversion would be interesting to see, as that city hasn't been remade yet. It'd be good to replace some models in it, like the Big Ben (the blocky one would look awkward, as its roof is a flat texture with 3D illusion - GTA 1 engine doesn't support slopes like GTA 2 does).

HD models will be made by Frank.s and HD textures by Triple Penetration . More informations about this soon .

I'm voting for 1. Conversion has to give a new experience. If I want to play the classic GTAII I'm playing GTAII. It's pointless to waste opportunities that a new engine gives. If mod crew want to improve in-game immersion and set old game in new perspectives, they should have full approval and support from us wink.gif .

i would go with option 1, becouse i don't like the models, beside from top view it would't see much of the hd models, it will be classic feeling
but from 3d view it will be perfect, becouse you wouldn't see boxes you will se much better buildings biggrin.gif

You do know that if you want a average, 15 people is waaay too less. And it's your own mod, make your own decisions. If YOU thnk YOUR mod need it, then do it, otherwise, don't. Ofcourse it looks bad, it's suppose to be topdown, not 3D.

as i said before, from top view it wouldn'd be much difference, but we have a 3d view so when we play in 3d view we wouldn't like so see boxes we would like so see good models. hope you understand me confused.gif

I think you're right . Poll ended . GTA2 Rage will have HD models and textures . Sorry for people who wanted to have classic feeling but it look very bad . Anyway more informations about the HD contents soon . smile.gif

Here's what i have started, still making the basic stuff so this is only a fraction of what it will look like when it's done.
I agree about keeping the feel of the place, so keep in mind that what i've shown isn't finished so it won't fully represent GTA2 right now. I think the arch has crappy uv-mapping atm. By the time it's in-game it will be much more HD. Never the less, comments/construcive crits/suggestions would be appreciated.

That mistake has been made far too many times. I hope VCHD will be different, and this ofcourse. Also gazanfar and T777 are doing a pretty good job at HD-IVSA. But if you look at III Rage, Srt, or many other sa retexture packs, you see it's totally different and not much like original.

Exactly, I'm all for updating the textures to higher res, or the models to a higher poly count, but nor changing the soul of the place.

I agree too, hi-poly models, but the textures not too much different that original but HD, more details
