If you start with this comparing-sh*t all over again, over a mod that is not even out yet from which you cannot make such affirmation, I will personally SPAM your inbox PM until the rest of your life.

Start learning how to make a good post and not to just post every personal thought that comes out from your mind from which every squirm does on facebook/twitter now. You have semi-thoughts about this mod, fine, but what the heck my mod has to be included in your content into some else project just because of your liking anyway. My man, give this guy some good credit.

Sheesh!

Sheesh!

Everything alright, your SRT - is very good mod and both mods can coexist peacefully; comparisons are always natural. Believe me, I've read a lot of really terrible comments (someone are very bad talking and about HRT) about my modifications, HRT also constantly comparing with... other mod, makes no sense upset about it.

Yes, HRT 1.4 is not finished now, but mod will be guaranteed good.

Just cause I used some unappropriate words there and there doesn't mean I'm angry. It's a generic reference. At least I got your attention. Fact is that since I meet the "internet" I notice that the most people have the behaviour of pouring whatever thoughts are coming up from their minds. Yeah, I kind of head enough about this.

First of all, this is completely different from what SRt3 trully is. Here stands, as the title says, retexturing by following the original textures path. It is classified as Classic project, at least to me, since the game has just earned his 10 years, like the 15 Anniverssary of GTA, a value from which fills into old school classic games now. And the amount of work and value Flame has put in this, is like trying to resurrect System Shock 2, Doom III etc, for example with higher and better textures from which such mods do exist now on both games, being made by common people.

I don't see how this can be related to SRt3. It just so different approach.

So far it is the single one, who manage to reach such level of quality and maintain his postion among the others similar mods until this day while most of them had died over time. Not only Flame does do rexturing by the book, but also fixes the stretch, wide, big inappropriate textures over buildings. People who play normal SA like how most of the SA-MP users do, will definitely download this mod.

Calm down there that discuss. both mod are amazing. But I prefer HRT 1.4, just because I like.

Defend what they like instead of criticizing do not.

No.. lol..

I mean some screens of HRT 1.4 and progress.

Soon will be intersting materials about HRT, this month, maybe even next week. :)

In Steam on this weekend are good discounts on all Rockstar's games (and GTA SA too). I'd like to see Steam-version and how it work, because want to do HRT 1.4 compatibility with it (now many players have precisely Steam-version and I want that mod work fine with it).

Somebody could buy for me this game? (Game is not need me personally, because I already have non-Steam version, but for tests. My Steam profile).

As far as I know, Steam version (v3) of SA is partially compatible with mods. It will immediately crash if you attempt to edit gta3.img or other .img file (even with the slightest change). Doesn't happen with modding other data, though.

However, the Steam version of the game can be downgraded to pre-patched version (v1), making it fully compatible with mods.

I want that the installation of the mod will simple and the player himself was not forced to do downgrade; maybe mod, if it installing over Steam-version, will be do this. Also, I just want to see what it represents Steam-version.

If you look closely on bottom right corner of the picture, it says "V3.00", which I assume that it represents Steam version.

Have you ever thought that it might work indirectly with ModLoader since it doesn't require a direct installation through gta3.img ?

Except modloader doesn't support all exe's.. yet at least.

This is variant, but I want to make mod without including ModLoader, and, in general, use as few as possible third-party things, because always better if game works only with their native functions (where it is possible).

You don't have to include Modloader.. tell people to use it. If people are still replacing and rebuilding IMG's well that's their problem.

You shouldn't include modloader, the same way you don't include img tools, you ask them to get a img tool, is that right?
The same thing, you can just ask the person to get modloader, and what's the instruction to install it on modloader? "Just drop this folder at modloader folder, it's done", you don't even need to do any kind of script, modloader works with anything made since the first days of modding.

You can give two options on the readme, either modloader or a img tool. Come on, that won't hurt and will help modloader get more adoption.

Also, Steam version (and 2.0) do not allow gta3.img modifications, the game will hang, there's plugins out there to solve this issue.
As BLITZ mentioned, installing thought modloader would work since it doesn't touch the game files but as James mentioned, Mod Loader do not support Steam executable yet, but IT WILL, as you can see on our goals.

few as possible third-party things, because always better if game works only with their native functions (where it is possible).

Not really, the game breaks if you use badly coded plugins (or scripts). I'm no newbie, my coding skills ain't broken.
In fact, ModLoader even fix some game issues, such as the "sound bug".

And to be honest, do you really think that people that is going to use HRT is going to have a unmodded game? Sure they will :^:

I not think so, but I want also that mod will be good and for casual players, that want to install mod easily and quick (because of this my The Seasons mods like Endless Summer were released in two versions - with manual installation and auto installation, maybe HRT will be released in the same form - maybe, because I can not be precise).

In general, I'm really terribly interesting to look at the Steam-version, but I do not want buy it.

Yes I have the same opinion with Link. I´m sure that flame has enough to do with rextexturing, fixing and so on and I think that he shouldnt worry about compatibility issues. Just make your mod and let Link make Mod loader supporting all versions and everything will be fine. Besides, I think that many GTA Fans are waiting for this mod so it would be a good start to make Mod Loader popular and motivate Link to make all GTA versions compatible and all GTA files supported. Sorry for my English ... hope you will understand what I mean.

You shouldn't, models format didn't change in Steam version, it's all fine, the only issue is a hard coded anti-gta3-modification

Oh well, then we have an interest in common, making casual users able to mod their games without needing to worry about anything :)
I'd like to repeat that you don't need to create any kind of script to make the mod work on modloader. The only thing I ask you is to reference modloader on the readme.

The Birds Update won't let you kill birds anymore if you help me with that :p

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't it be possible to bypass that by creating a new IMG? I know it can be done on IV, but not sure about SA. Basically, all the custom textures would load up first out of a different IMG, and then the rest out of the default one.

Another idea is to include a cracked V1.0 exe and the main.scm from V1.0. I don't know if the forum will allow that, but it won't work without having SA on your computer already. (NOTE: The downgrader for people with V2.0 copies of the game doesn't do it right. First of all, with just the v1.0 exe, the Mod Garages will crash without the V1.0 main.scm. Secondly I remember it giving the EU version of the exe, which I found was not compatible with some mod. I don't remember which mod it was as it was a long time ago. It might of been GTA United V1.1, or it may of not been working with the version of Cleo that was out at the time.)

It is possible in SA and even Vice City (I tried this in my Winter Mod 3.0). In HRT 1.4 will be used more then one IMG archive.

I want to test mod with Steam very much and adapt it to Steam version, maybe mod will downgrade game automatically or something like this.

People with new versions may need to make new saves. The main.scm would need to be changed so mod garages work.

Though I have a 1.0 save, when this comes out, I'll free roam around a little bit, but then I'm going to replay the story with this.

Flame is a very beautiful video. I will repeat here and write you again, I look forward to this mod, from my point of view will be for me the gameplay even better!

But I have a question - You started with a textured palm trees and therefore vegetation? Or am I so blind that I have it and have over forks that I can not seem to notice?

                                       - And LV sections started?

You have my admiration for this mod.

KubaTaky, thanks that you like. :) I already remade few textures of palms, some textures of bushes, agaves, but I did not start global work on trees. Las Ventures is not in development, because San Fierro not finished.
