SFe, part 34
Chinatown

One of many bugs from original game was fixed in HRT 1.4. Road model was passed through wall model. See also inscription on the image.

Guys, if there are some scripts to change FOV (but FOV can be changed only in script or in config file and player cannot change FOV in game)? And without conflicts with sniper's scope. And how will you react to little changed FOV in HRT (if it happens)?

There are many FOV mods out there for SA already, I wouldn't bother including it in your mod. Users more than likely have their own preferred settings.

Its like if you uploaded your .set file. Most people have their own preferred in-game settings, there is no point.

But you could always 'recommend' a good FOV settings, I guess .. no harm in that.

A simple google search will yield quite a few results, but I think these ones are probably the best ones to test.

FOV Changer by oksa8/oksu/aStiffSausage

And then there is Amazing Screenshots, and CamHack.

There was also a script somewhere, that changed the FOV based on speed which was pretty cool.

Hope this helps you.

I know about these mods. And of course, I was looking for FOV mods in Google. But, unfortunately, these are not what I need. FOV Changer is good script, but like CamHack, it for changing FOV in the game, but I need some tool or script for change FOV once, only by me, and the user later can not change it from game (in the mod will play and casual players, I think, not only enthusiasts, so that nothing should detract from the game).

Ahhh right, I gotcha .. the FOV-Changer is good for finding the value you want.

You'd just need a scripter to write up a quick CLEO script with that value for you

Yo bro, I just registered cause I wanted to suggest you something... I've been waiting a long time for HRT 1.4 now... Since it definitely will be the best texture pack once its finished... I just wanted to tell you to make an "Only Textures" version... like dont make  super pack that change the whole game cause we dont really want that... like dont include other mods etc... just fresh new awesome looking textures... then if you want make a version with mods etc... Cause the only reason why I'm not using HRT 1.3 now is cause it has "New Objects..." It changes how the Stock gta sa map is made... it opens the stadium door, adds a park etc... If we play samp... which around 90% of current gta sa players do we cant use mods with new objects etc cause it would be considered hacking in a way since you have advantages... etc like youc an go places where others cant etc... So try to keep it always like the Stock Map but all remade HD... thats just awesome... try to use same colors for objects etc cause if HRT 1.4 cyanges everything a lot...w e cant really tell other people what stuff looks like, where were at etc you get what I mean? So try to keep the Original Gta sa look but remade HD... By the way idk what your plans are for the mod but once youre done it would be nice if you could remake Skins, vehicles, weapons, effects, etc You would have a lot of reputation for that bro... It would be like a whole new game... Gta sa V2... I support ya bro! By the way will you remake the whole map? or just LS and SF? and will you remake interiors? Any expected release date? Oh and by the way Ive seen the new fingers for cj you added to HRT 1.4 from the mobile version.. pretty cool bro, It would be nice if you coudl keep grabbing the good stuff of teh mobile version and adding it to the pack always keeping it original and clean so its good for samp... I woudl like to see the "colorcycle.dat" from mobile version in the pc version... Try that ;D!

P.s. Ever asked yourself why many people hate modifying their in game skins? because normally theyre never like the original ones... So if someone woudl makea skin pack with all the original skins in HD without having a really different .dff it would be awesome... cause teh closer the .dff is to teh original .dff of the skins is better so theres not a big difference or advantages/advantages...

Thanks a lot! Really appreciated!

Maxive, hi. Very cool that you have registered here special for comment my mod. Glad that you like my work. Do not worry, I think, mod will be fully compatible with SA-MP (if I do not come across with some limits of SA-MP or something like this); at this moment mod contains new textures and new models. But all another things, if they will be, will not break game or style and atmosphere of the game. In mod will not new opportunities in gameplay (for this users can download Endless Summer, for example) or new objects on the location.

In general, there is a fine line. I have added new shops as new materials for standard objects - and they, I think, do not break game style. But if I will open closed interiors in HRT, or add the new island or something like this - these will be bad for this mod. This time in all, that I doing, I try not to go beyond. Users can always tell when they see something superfluous.

Yes, I plan to do and vehicles. All location will be retextured.

About old HRT Pack 1.3 and SA-MP - you can try to install version with manual installation, in this version you can install only new textures. Thanks for you comment!

HRT 1.4: the release delayed to 2014

Probably for users, who are waiting for the mod, it will be sad news, but do not hurry to get upset. I want to release mod as more quickly too, but my mission also — to do work as more better as possible. We want the quality mod, that will be made really very good, mod, in which you can play, maybe, even not one year. It is therefore release must be delayed for excellent result.

Initially modification could be called HRT Pack 1.4. It could be the direct continuation of HRT Pack 1.3 (2010, in 2011 was re-released as Enhanced Edition).

In 2011 I decided that my skills are better then before, and I want to make mod on new quality level. I have started work from scratch.
Mod is not based on 2010 mod. I decided to give HRT 1.4 name for the mod. Even version number, in fact, is not so needed: «1.4» was included to the name for showing evolutionary connecting. HRT 1.4 — not just new version of previous mod, this is a completely new project.

HRT 1.4 in the development from 2011 and each year (difficult to imagine that more then two years I give free time to this mod; as earlier, I'm doing this mod alone and often it is very difficult to combine this work with other); I thought that mod will be released in this year, but every time a lot of work waited ahead. Besides often I wanted to do again what already been done (from one side, improve already made things — it is good, the other side — very easy to wallow in this). Last release date was 2013, but now 2013 almost over, and again a lot of work wait, however, the amount of work has been steadily declining.

The release delayed to 2014 because mod will be really cool. Without bugs, with very stable working. Mod must look cool and keep the style of original game. Also do not forget that all current screenshots and videos do not show final look of the mod. I would like that the players not to represent GTA: San Andreas without this mod.

And V had a lot larger team with everyone getting paid for doing it. :p

Can't say I'm surprised by the delay, or disappointed. Rather wait few months to get a great mod than have it now with quickly made textures. :)

Flame, don't worry about release dates. I've learned that it's best to not even have a release date in the first place when you're making a mod. It only causes more problems, especially when people have expectations.

By the way Flame after you finish everything which will probably be in a long time, I would suggest you to check every texture you made and see if you can make any improvements, specially the Los Santos textures since they were the first you made, los santos is the most important part of san andreas sinve ots where everyone that plays gta sa spends 90% of their time at so concentrate a lot in LS. Also if you could retexture skins keeping their .dffs close to the originals it would be amazing and I do think you should do vegetation... I think HRT 1.4 should be the only mod people should really get for gta sa... Make it perfect try to update as much textures of the game as you can... Like a retexture of the original hud, menus, map and even fonts would be really nice! I dont think those would take a lot of time to do compared to what you've done already and they would give a nice hd touch to the game ;D also if you could include hd efects too it would be awesome since currently the only effects pack thats good and its still being updated is Overdose Effects but I think you could do better since you're the best gta sa modder I've ever seen! Idk much about textures etc and how they work but try to cover as much as you can... If possible try to retexture them all! Ik this might be a lot of stuff but I think a really perfect mod full of awesome stuff but with longer waiting time is better than another one with smaller waiting time but not fully finished or with rushed textures... So take your time bro! We can keep waiting years hah no reason to rush, your update screenshots always give me a smile ;D its pretty cool to see the progress of the mod. So yeah I think it would be pretty cool if HRT would cover really everything in the game and make it hd, remember to always keep the same style for all your textures, like we dont want textures to be really different from eachother, try to make every texture fit good with its location etc. Also may I ask how big the resolution of the textures are? Are we going to find any lag issues? I've got a pretty high end pc for gta sa (CPU: Amd FX-6350 @3.9Ghz GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB RAM:G.Skill Sniper Series 8Gb (2x4gb) 1866Mhz ) but sometimes when playing samp in really crowded places fps goes down by a lot, if everytjings notmal i get 100 fps doe which is capped there. Also how big should our strem fixes be?

As always thanks a lot for taking your time, Really appreciated!

Thanks all for support, guys.

Maxive, if you think that Los Santos will stand out from the other cities - do not worry. I often redo already made textures, all cities will be in one level of quality, and this quality will be excellent.

I do not presume to add new objectives: in mod will be remade all location, interiors and vehicles. About other I do not want to speak now, because and these objectives - hard and long work.

In the mod are usually using textures in 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 pixels resolution. I always try to use as more bigger textures, as 2048x2048 pixels. But not always I can to do this, because game have a memory limits that we do not "cure", and I forced to use smaller textures: in mod will be and new textures in 512x512 resolution.

Also I should note that I redoing all the textures in txd-files... Even if you do not see the difference in the game looking at the texture - this texture became better in HRT. If this is not completely new texture, this is improved texture.

We must remember that this is an old game and not always we can work "to roam" because of all these limitations.

My PC - Intel i3 2.93 GHz, 3,5 RAM, ASUS EAH5750 1 GB and game must work without lags on computer with these specifications (this is not hi-end computer, it was built a few years ago).

But I cannot say something about lags on SA-MP. Fast work in SA-MP - not main mission, but I think that you will play SA-MP with comfort. (Most likely mod will be compatible with SA-MP).

Most likely, user will can chose part of the mod for installation, but only if mod will be released with manual installation.

P.S. I have updated links to "pieces" from HRT 1.4, all that mini-mods with selected places from HRT 1.4 that were released in 2011 and 2012. See them in this post. But note that all "pieces" are not actual parts of HRT 1.4, because HRT constantly refined and all these places were updated and remade in HRT, in final version they will be look better and another.

I just read about this FOV change, don't do it man, look at camhack and change FOV, result is that if you shoot, your shot doesn't hit where you aimed at.

SFe, part 35:
New video from San Fierro:

«Chinatown»

Users that are waiting for the mod and regularly view screenshots, know, that last time I work on part of San Fierro (all location in the game technically divided to the parts — sections) that named «SFe».

San Fierro — is a huge city. In the game it made little differently from Los Santos. Los Santos is divided on 10 sections, San Fierro — only on four, but these four sections are very big and include a lot of interesting places, one of them — Chinatown.

Video about Chinatown I suggest you.
