Raavi, of course if you want MP and SP mixed it needs to be always online, but if you want SP only you don't need to be connected to the game, it's easy mate.

I know they're trying to 'hide' this but this game has to be always online to play it.

It's clear you haven't been following this game too closely, or just started following it recently.

It was confirmed a long time ago that you can play the game offline if you don't want anyone interfering with your game.

Seamless blend of singleplayer and multiplayer requires always online. I'm sure they won't advertise it as such but, I'm sceptic.

Did you know that you can actually turn the whole Multiplayer component off if you want?

Isn't this the PS3/360 demo? It still looks awesome, even graphically! Btw, this video is old.

Nope, that is the E3 2012 demo that ran on a high-end PC. We haven't seen any PS3/Xbox360 footage and the developers said that porting to those platforms will be done when the game is finished.

Ahh, okay. But I hope it doesn't look too terrible compared to PS4, it would be good if they can at least make it look half decent. This is the only game I care about the graphics tbh.

You're not alone. A lot only hype this game due to the graphics. Personally I'm more interested in the gameplay and by the sound of it that will be the same no matter the platform. I do understand where you're coming from though. A half arsed rushed port isn't something I want but I'll reserve judgement until I see the PS3 version is action. If you can pick any platform then the PC would be the best choice with next gen consoles running a close second naturally but I'll be going with the PS3 version assuming it looks great on all platforms. Only time will tell.

Considering the hardware, the difference will be big. Even if the game isn't a half assed port. You can compare games like F.E.A.R. or other cross gen games to see the differences.

Considering next gen versions will be a port from the PC version I doubt it will be something to get hot and bothered about. Providing it still looks/plays great on current gen consoles I can't say I care. I don't jump on the hype train of next gen and by my understanding the engine they are using for Watch Dogs can be scaled well. Once current gen footage is shown then I'll decide if the differences are a deal breaker to me. As it stands they are not.

We have no current gen footage of Watch Dogs nor any screens to judge from. But we do have next gen games' screenshots and footages, and the leap is huge, apparently.

As I said until I see current gen footage I can't make that call. Nobody can but from the next gen footage shown I'm not completely blown away by it so don't believe current gen players will be missing much. Adding more to me been skeptical about the next gen version I guess is that, like Assassins Creed IV Watch Dogs will be released on multiple platforms. If the game was built from the ground up for next gen and next gen/PC only then I might be more impressed. I expect that will happen next year with both franchises. monocle.gif

Oh, I get where you're going, it's old "X pushing X back" statement. I'll confute this. The games will be developed for the Next Gen Consoles/PC first and then it will be scaled down for the current gen consoles. I'm not sure why a game that is cross gen would look inferior to a game that is next gen only. Heck, Crysis 3 looks a generation ahead despite it being available on the current gen consoles.

Really? I'd have thought it was obvious. More time and effort would be but into the next gen/PC versions without even having to think about any other platforms. Adding more to my point next gen tec will be fairly new to developers so the leap isn't going to be groundbreaking during the first year of the consoles life naturally. The only next gen games that impress me haven't even got a release date yet and are next gen only.

This is getting a little off topic and I suppose everyone has a opinion. Naturally the best version of the game will be the PC version as I've said before. However providing the current gen port is still good I'm happy enough to go with the PS3 version as I won't be buying a PS4 anytime soon. If however there is a big difference and it's a deal barker to me I'll wait and buy it for the PS4 when I get around to buying a PS4. I often find people over exaggerate things so I'll judge for myself when the opportunity presents itself. smile.gif

I never said they were taken from the console versions, all I said was that Crysis 3 looks like a next generation game on PC despite it being available on current gen consoles, does it not though?

Wouldn't the PC be your best option in that case? The way I look at it is that I've gamed on consoles over PC all my gaming years for the most part so I can live without the minor difference. I think of the PS4 version of this game as the PC version as they are close enough to each other so the same would apply.

Just taking another look through the Vehicles in Watch Dogs gallery at the Wiki, I love the effort that the developers have put into their car models, there are some really high-quality models and some really good combinations;

Bentley Mulsanne/ Maybach 62;

Elise/ Exige;

Alfa Romeo 4C/ Lotus Evora;

And the team is constantly improving the vehicle handling, so the driving experience in the final version should be great. Good characters, innovative features and a good driving experience; sounds like a winner to me. icon14.gif

My current PC, while high end is going to need some considerable tweaking before it can run something as high req as Watch Dogs to my satisfaction so I'll probably go with the PS4 initially as that's something I'm likely to invest money back into first.

One question that could be asked of Assassins Creed and Watch Dogs, which both share some extensive and new technology, is that are they part of the same universe that Ubisoft has created.

By extensive and new technology I mean that in Assassins Creed there is of course the Animus which takes our main character, Desmond Miles into a virtually created past and we have the CtOS (The Central Operating System) in Watch Dogs which controls the entire city of Chicago. While these two pieces of technology are unrelated they are still futuristic.

The Animus is said to have been created in the later half of the 20th century while the CtOS in Watch Dogs is used in the present, 2013, therefore a shared universe is a possibility since dates and times do not collide.

Another piece of information that supports this theory is from an interview with Ubisoft Game Director, Ashraf Ismail in which he is asked whether Assassins Creed and Watch Dogs share the same universe, to which he replies “I don’t wanna ruin the surprise for people, I don’t want to give anything away, but for the people who love both games, for the people who will play both games there are some easter eggs” and apparently these easter eggs will “blow your mind”
