Agree with Typhus, the crash scene and gun fight looked very unnecessary, he did every thing so clean and precise while sneaking around, but then out of no where just starts a full out war. Hope there is alternative ways to kill the guy rather than that.

The game still has caught my eye though, the graphics and animations are awesome, can't wait for more info.

But you know there won't be. The stealth only exists up to the next gunfight.
And the whole shootout existed for the sole purpose of having a throwaway cutscene. If it is indeed a massively open world, I don't think we should be deluded into thinking that it indicates a particular non-linear approach to the objectives.
I think it will hold our hand and take us from set-piece to set-piece.

He caused the gunfight in order to send the "message". If he'd killed the target in the car accident then it would have looked like just that, an accident. The only way to ensure the "message" was sent was to shoot the guy, at least that's my interpretation.

The game looks like an intereting idea, I'm more than happy to keep an eye on it, However, we all remember what happened to I AM ALIVE so I'm not holding my breath.

Love the graphics, and love how people act so realistic. I hope V does the same.

there's a gap in the market for open world games and ubisoft is trying to take a piece of the pie. Simple as that.

The introduction trailer made this sound really interesting, until I realised it was essentially the same premise as Die Hard 4: Hack the Planet. The execution will be make or break.

The gameplay was pretty interesting though. Has anyone checked to see if the QR codes on the waiters' heads leads to anything?

If this is on Unreal Engine 4, I can't wait to see what other games it can bring this gen! As I said before this is the game that Syndicate should of been.

Robinski: Yes, someone has, it leads to the website of the exhibition that Aiden is at in the demo.

Eh, I don't like the idea of playing as some rogue technologically savvy hitman or whatever the f*ck he is, this game looks a little complicated and convoluted for my taste and the premise seems very conspiracy theory-ish. With that being said the graphics are stellar but I can't imagine anything current gen handling all that smoothly.

I believe that it's being developed by the new iteration of Anvil engine. This new iteration has been developed to push the limits of current-gen and to be ready for next-gen. Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed III are both developed by Montreal studio, so there's no point of developing two different in-house engines. One identical aspect that I have seen shared between Watch Dogs and ACIII, is the cloth movement animation. In both games, the protagonist's cloth moves very fluently in response to wind and movement.

Wow, they really have done some serious work then! It looks beautiful for an in-house engine. Now that you say it. The movement animations do look quite similar.

I thought this was next gen. Those graphics look like hard work for a 360 to handle. Considering the demo was on PC, they will probably be reduced by quite a bit so the 360 doesn't melt.

Have you even seen The Last of Us? the graphics are even better than Watch dogs and it's a current-gen game (PS3 Exclusive)

You have to also consider that this is an open-world game with a lot of AI processing all happening at once. But The Last of Us looked absolutely stunning too. Most of the core games that were shown yesterday looked absolutely phenomenal.

Well, fortunately i have a PC capable of running games on max settings, and if the difference between consoles and PC is that great, then f*ck consoles.

Woah boy, this game is certainly setting a new standard for open world games *cough* GTA V *cough* when it comes to graphics.

But I'm still only at the start of the demo video, I don't give a sh*t about graphics if the gameplay sucks (gameplay being something GTA always kicks ass at), will edit once I've seen the gameplay.

They did confirmed anything yet, but a 3D Programmer for the game said that it will launch for PS3 - and probably for X360 and PC too.

IMO it looked a bit better than The Last of US, although W_D showed more effects like wind and reflections. Both were truly amazing.
How the peds reacted between them were something that really caught my eye. I don't knot if it was scripted or not, but it was impressive how that guy tried to save the woman from the accident.

Talking about Unreal Engine 4, they will show a little bit about it on the last day of E3, 7, so we will be able to compare those graphics with what we already saw.

The Ubisoft press site was just updated and shows Watch Dogs as a Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC release with a launch date yet to be determined. The programmer with Ubisoft posted that Watch Dog is running on PS3 and 360 at this point in time. smile.gif

yeah, It looked better than The last of Us but that's because it was the PC version, the console version won't even look half as good as TLOU. believe me, anyway i'm very excited for both games regardless on how they looks

Well just finished the video. Looks like V's got some solid competition now, both from this and Sleeping Dogs (to a lesser extent).

Definitely liking the game, the only thing stopping me from putting it in my 'definite buy' list is them not showing more of the vehicle physics. Some realistic vehicle physics and I'll be sold.

The lack of aliasing and framerate drops, alongside how phenomenally some object, such as cars, reflect lightning and the environment around, in addition to the big number of unique NPC models, each with his/her own motion-captured animations, and finally how the wind fluently throw away trash and dust off the road, make me think that it's too good to be true for PS3 and Xbox 360, unless there's a massive downgrade applied to both versions with the PC version running just like how it was shown, well, depending on the hardware's specifications.

The talk about it that it's running on PS3 and Xbox 360, came from someone on Neogaf forum who claimed to be a Ubisoft Montreal developer, but he refused to reveal more. However, I've yet to see an official Ubisoft source confirming that it's coming to any platform. Apparently, Watch Dogs is being developed by the new iteration of Anvil engine, and I would be very surprised if the game would really come to PS3 and Xbox 360 in the form that we have been exposed to, or at least with a slight downgrade. Assassin's Creed III, which is built by this engine, looks really phenomenal in every aspect, and there are similarities between it and Watching Dogs in some technical aspects, such as the fluent cloth's animations.

What blew my mind was the graphics, but it really was the gunfight in the middle of the street that did it for me. GTA has always been great, but when the guy took cover behind the car, it felt (watching the video) that it was a real life gun battle. The effect of bullets going through the car was absolutely amazing. I got the actual impression that the bullets were "tearing" through the car, not just hititng it. Also the car physics don't seem that they are anything special compared to GTA IV from what I could see.
