For the love of Lucifer, not the damned birds again.

I expect something new to collect, not something we collected before.

Hidden packages:

- they should make sound
- they should have a light surrounding them
- there should be a way (completing some sort of special mission) to gain access to a map where the location of the 'packages' are displayed

This and a big Yes to the first two.

They should be like Nirnroot in Skyrim (though that technically isn't a hidden package like it was in Oblivion). Nirnroot only grows near water, so that's a much needed indication where to look also.

The map would be too much in my opinion.

So far, we've been told that GTAV is going to focus heavily on drugs. So yes, definitely Hidden Packages, loaded with drugs.

In GTAIII they were just packages, in Vice City they had the shape of some kind of statue. So I say, let them come up with a new original look for these Hidden Packages.

Oh yes, those flying rats were a bad idea weren't they?

I'd like to see hidden packages in GTAV, though I just hope Rockstar put some thought into them this time around.

I personally would like to see hidden packages return in the form of something a bit more interesting than shooting birds and collecting shoe horses. Perhaps a concept along the lines of finding undiscovered bodies or murder victims. The corpses will be scattered all over the map including desert areas, mountains and the sea. The key thing for me is I'd like hidden packages to be an engaging and fun part of the game and not something dull and repetitive one has to do in order to gain 100% completion.

Well this game is focused on

'The pursuit of the almighty dollar'

We could be searching for gold bank notes? Horseshoes for a lil lady luck?
How about gold coins? Nah, too Mario

Some of those poll options are pointless. They will not repeat any of the old 'packages'. That means we can rule out:
  • Drugs Packages
  • Tiki Statues
  • Tags
  • Photo Opportunities
  • Lucky Horseshoes
  • Oysters
  • Pigeons
  • Seagulls
The best packages are those that fit in with the environment or theme of the game. I liked the Tags, Photo Opportunities, Pigeons and Seagulls for that reason.

So if you're going to speculate what the 'packages' might be this time, you need to think of something new that fits in with the theme of the game or something synonymous with L.A. This might be difficult to do given the limited information we have about GTA:V at the moment.

I do think they should have some kind of aid to assist in finding the packages and tracking which ones you've found and which you haven't. I also think that they should reintroduce the incremental rewards for finding the packages.

I personally liked the flying rats... that is, having to shoot the hidden package. It just felt more fun than running through a floating avatar as it came with the risk of attaining a wanted level.

Like I said, drugs will play a big role in GTAV. So drug packages would fit the theme pretty good. You can say they won't repeat, but GTAIII had hidden packages and Vice City had hidden packages, and GTA Advance had hidden packages, and each of them contained drugs.

I want something I'll notice when I'm playing. GTAIII was good at that. 4 sucked with it. I hated looking for those tiny ass birds, it was a pain in the ass.

I hope they scrap hidden packages or at least change them. The worlds are so big it's a chore to find every single one and then backtracking, trying to find the ones you missed all for lackluster rewards which (since SA) you don't even get until you collect every single one.

Take a page from the Fallout games. Exploring is fun because you're bound to find something unique, creepy, or useful. The collectables are a handful of bobbleheads (not 200 orly.gif , holy sh*t, GTA IV) that instantly increase your stats. There are unique versions of each weapon to find, even the Godfather games had this.

I'm still amazed by Liberty City's detail but the map's potential won't be fully realized until someone creates a free roam multiplayer program like SA:MP where you can take time to explore all the nooks and crannies of the city and make use of all those enterable buildings.

'The pursuit of the almighty dollar'

so where does this 'drug' thing fit in?

Rockstar didn't mention drugs (so far)

I want it like in GTA III where we picked up giant bags of cocaine. I enjoyed that.

This one! It wins! Finding bodies, or maybe body parts til you find the whole person. Like each hidden package (person) would consist of 10 parts, limbs, head, torso etc... And there are 10 people to be found in all. That's 100 pieces all together.

other: MAYOR'S SCANDAL Photo.

Someone had spread mayor's scandal photo from a chopper in the night (so police wont recognize them). But the mayor already knew their plan and had orders his folks to sweep the photos from the streets and shot down the chopper. They sweep the photos well done, but of course the photos remains on somewhere hidden. biggrin.gif
