Forza Horizon as a totally new game in well known Forza Motorsport franchise is taking completely fresh direction in well acclaimed series.

If this game is to be like TDU2, with better physics and cars, they can shut the f*ck up and take my money already.

Looks awesome. Also, that blue FH logo was an April fools, yet it looks better than the office bone IMO.

If this game was like TDU but with the same quality and style of Forza and has people actually playing I will buy this in a heartbeat. Forza 4 impressed me a lot, I found it to be a lot more fun than GT5 and if it has the upgrades and sim-style racing of Forza this will just be incredible. Not to mention driving through the desert at top speed sounds like a blast to me.

I never did give Forza 4 a try, but I had a lot of fun with Forza 3 despite how little I played it, and if this is of the same quality I've witnessed from videos of Forza 4, it may be the one game I've held onto my Xbox 360 for (well, and GTA V, if the PC port is as abysmal as IV's was).

It's using the North American date format, which means November 2nd, not February 11th.

Did you really need to quote the full post, just to ask a stupid question? Obviously it's not out yet.

I really need to hurry up and buy me a 360. I played the demo of F4, and it blew me away, but sadly got rid of my 360 before the full game got released. It's definitely one of the games I'll be purchasing though, as I've loved this series from the start. The demo of F4 was brilliant, and the scale of the track was immense, so I'm looking forward to seeing the scale that they achieve on an open-world map. My only worry is that the only games that tend to go for open-world racing are the arcade type racers, so are we going to be seeing changes within this? I'm just struggling to see what they are trying to achieve with this game, rather than just making an add-on for F4 with tracks that only go A-B...

Hope they change that box art too, it looks horrible. barf8bd.gif

Well this looks interesting. I wasn't expecting Forza to be bringing out another game anytime soon. Looks alright but racing games are becoming too repetitive imo.

I hope I'm not the only one excited about this, as one person said on here, if its like TDU2, he will buy it. Of course, I will buy it just to play it no matter what.

I've always wanted an open-world forza. I've been looking for the right driving game, TDU did a great job, TDU2 started off great then went completely downhill, but I know Forza will impress as always. Can't wait for this! I just hope the interiors are still as detailed with an entire open-world to process.

You know, I might buy a console for this. Anybody know good PS3-style controllers for 360? And ones not as expensive as the console itself?

You'll get used to the 360 controller. I find it more comfortable as I have quite big hands. This Forza Horizon looks quite cool, just want to see some actual gameplay though and I hope they discard them stupid unicorn cars.

No, no, no. It's not because it's bulky, it's because of the analogs and D-pad position. It's totally not for me, as there are button configurations for lefties and righties, but not for ambi-dextrous people.

When I run with lefty configuration, it's on the look analog, instead of movement one. The movement one, when pressed is for knifing. whatsthat.gif (Oh wait, this doesn't relate to this game at all, but IF I wanted to play shooter games? That'd be annoying)

And I use(d) my PS2 controller to play LFS on my laptop all the time, until it broke. It must've made my brain think that no other configuration is better for driving games.

You may want to get something like this: http://www.amazon.co...tackoverfl08-20
It's quite expensive actually or get some adapter to connect PS3 pad to xbox 360.

Video of new screenshots..

QUOTE
Ahead of its official reveal at E3 on Monday, Forza Life have released several new stunning screenshots of Playground Games' open world spin-off Forza Horizon, along with a host of details that have raised our anticipation to a whole new level.
Apparently, Forza Horizon will maintain the realistic physics from Forza Motorsport 4, with new optimisation for 65 types of off-road terrain including mud, gravel, grass and asphalt.
We already knew Forza Horizon was situated in an open world environment, but Forza Life also touts Colorado as the official location, which will incorporate dynamic day and night cycles. Looking over the screenshots, this comes as no surprise.
In addition, you will be able to visit petrol stations, paint shops and car dealerships in the same vein as Test Drive Unlimited. Intriguingly, there is also  a mention of events that have you race against other vehicles in the game including a plane. Sounds a lot like a Top Gear challenge to us.
Forza Life also revealed that Forza Horizon is due for release on October 23, 2012.

I'll just leave this here. If this has the Forza 4 physics then it basically sounds like what TDU 2 should have been..

Could this be the game I've been screaming for years and year? A open world game with simulator-ish physics! I'm really interested in this game, shame its 360 only. The only part I'm not quite liking is that it seems mostly desert and straight roads, which I'm not fan of.

This is already sounding too good to be true! When Forza 4 came out I was sure there would be rallyish type dirt tracks, and now it looks like it's finally coming true. f*ck yes.

I started to get into Forza late last year when I played Forza 2 and Forza 4. Enjoyed them a lot, this one look's pretty decent how there is dirt style racing, I'm guessing will see some game play of it at E3. Now this, is a must need race game..

Maybe this will be the true sequel to TDU in a sense because TDU2 was a totally different game than TDU1. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully the map will be just as big as Oahu in TDU, and narrow roads please, TDU roads were like massive. I hope car customization will still be in, that'd be great.

I've only played Forza(4?) once at Bestbuy where they had it playing on one of the X360s. Someone had just left the X360 while still in the race so I hopped on, it was real easy to drive in but I guess that had something to do with the fact that I was driving a 458. Reminded me of GT5 a lot so surely it must be a great game anyway.

But sh*t, now I gotta go get a X360. confused.gif

Hard to tell this far. All the gameplay footage seems to be taken from outside the cars, so I'm not so sure.

But otherwise, it looks f*cking awesome!

I just hope they add the original diablo. (Many games now adays only include the SV, such as NFS: HP (2010), Need For Speed: The Run, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Forza 4) Infact, the only game that has the Original Diablo (And came out 2011-12) is Driver SF. sad.gif

With SE30 Aero kits.... wow.gif

Will the car handling be like Forza 4 or have they dumbed it down for the kids? Also do cars get dirty?

looks good but the vid i saw of the guy driving the car looked crap, car was like is was on a skid pan, he couldn't keep it straight. I hope that's his lack of skill and that they do grip the road.

Looks like its what i want - open world, i wonder if races will be on a single road or allow different routes to take...
