Ok, Sorry to interrupt the "who's making the NfS games now" discussion but should I get it, recently I have played The Run, which wasn't all that bad, what about this one, I've got an option between Prototype 2 and NfS Most Wanted, any suggestions.

P.S: I know they both are two different games but I can't get them both at the moment.

Yeah, I'm baffled as to why NFS: Undergound 3 has no been made yet. That game was so much fun. And the fans have been screaming for it.

I liked Criterion's Hot Pursuit. I'd ply more of that. smile.gif

We will never see an Undeground 3. Wanna know why? Criterion is now in charge of all of the NFS games.

I thought EA Black Box were still developing NFS titles? Most recent ones were:

Need for Speed: World (Windows, 2010)
Need for Speed: The Run (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Windows, 2011)

Or has Criterion completely taken full development of NFS titles (because they're awesome)?

They took it over lol, I'll try to find that article I was reading from September.

The article is pretty misleading.

QUOTE
We talked to Criterion vice president Alex Ward at E3, and he revealed that from now on Criterion will be in charge of the entire franchise.

Followed up later in the article with:

QUOTE
The studio would not clarify if Criterion will directly develop every Need for Speed title, as Ward intimated, or simply oversee the series, when we asked them after our interview.

I doubt EA would sacrifice their yearly release of a NFS title, so maybe Criterion will merely oversee every title with another development team having the lead development?

Yearly release? Another Call of Duty? lol jk. You have to admit though, they did a damn good job on the new MW. It sounds fantastic and looks beautiful.

There's been a yearly release of a NFS title since 2002. Not saying that's a bad thing or whatever, but yeah.

Got this game last night and loving it, slept 4 hours and straight back into it. Loving the cop chases, although still getting used to the handling, im averaging a crash every like 20 seconds haha sad.gif

any tips for going through road blocks? I remember in the old one you could smash through if you hit the front of the cop cars but I just seem to crash every time

Edit: why the f*ck has the driver got a helmet on?

I know that other NFS games is with stock cars drivers don't wear helmets. But when you increase the performance, then they start wearing helmets.

There needs to be a new Hot Pursuit game, and one that actually does the NFS: Hot Pursuit series justice.

Also, why has Ferrari been absent from NFS for so many years?

I heard it's because they don't want their brand to be associated with illegal racing or anything else related.

I tried the demo and have to say, it's not so bad. I'm still loving my Horizon, but this game is a must get for Christmas game. The handling is kind of tricky though. It's hard to slow the car down.

Not so surprised this game isn't bad as Criterion basically fails to make sh*tty games imo. tounge.gif

I wasn't complaining about CoD being the same.

Though the different between CoD games is not so significant as between NFS games.

Not really, they usually fall between two groups:

Most Wanted-ish: Police chases, fast cars, sunset, street racing in Aston Martins, pimped up Lamborghinis etc. MW, Carbon, Underground, Undercover, The Run etc

Realistic: Prostreet and Shift 1 and 2.

The odd one out is Hot Pursuit, which was good. There are a couple of differences but overall the series has been repeating itself.

doesn't matter, this is an illegal street racing game, the driver should not be wearing a helmet, period.
On another note, there is way too much going on in the screen, i try turning a corner when suddenly a huge sign comes up saying HEAT LEVEL DECREASED right in the middle of the screen covering my car! At least make it transparent if your going to do that.

Bump, brought the Heroes DLC, and let me tell you, that SV is Epic, it has two very nice designs, and it handles quite well.

Didn't even have it for 20 minutes and I already did 3 events with it, going on my fourth even right now.

And the Diablo sounds Strinkingly similar to the V12 Sound from my Car Pack V2 mod. user posted image

It's pretty fun. Not like the original MW though. Kind of (like they said before) a new burnout with real cars.

I really want the heros pack but I don't have points sad.gif

I actually really enjoy playing Need For Speed Shift, and Shift 2 Unleashed. Other than those. I say either Most Wanted or Carbon is the best NFS.

Correction, in the old MW game you're supposed to hit the back of the police cars/SUVs for minimal slowdowns.

Most Wanted 2 is NEVER going to happen. Simply because EA are the number 1 dickheads in the gaming industry and are money grabbing cocksuckers. They should die. When the day comes that EA are bankrupt or shut down for some reason, i will be satisfied.

Umm, you haven't payed much attention, have you? Most Wanted 2 is already out. It's called "Need For Speed:Most Wanted", just like the old one.

From what I've seen, there's been a big jump from the old MW to the new one. I can't see how the awesome original NFS:MW, goes to a Burnout-style game.

Is the Terminal Velocity add on any good? The Deluxe DLC Pack comes with Movie Legends, Heroes Pack, and Terminal Velocity.

Haha, the game released on 30 October 2012, I'm gonna guess he has not paid attention, or they just love being on the "KILL EA" bandwagon.

Ontopic, I wanna pick this up sometime, are the graphics much different between PC and Xbox with this game? (I assume everything else is the same)

Just figured I'd bump this.

PC Deluxe Bundle DLC (All the actual DLC, none of the stupid unlock DLC) is on sale for $12.49 on Gamestop Digital/Impulse (gives a Origin key).

Absolutely worth it IMO.

EDIT: Anyone see this?: http://metro.co.uk/2...ng-new-3617654/

Wonder if MW will ever get fixed, I thought EA and Criterion had a deal that Criterion was to make bi-annual NFS games?

Oh well, I don't care a whole lot for Criterions handling model they use, MW and HP are great games, but their handling isn't very good IMO, I actually prefered The Run's handling (and Carlist lol) to MW/HP's handling.

This topic is surprisingly dead.

Well, I found out why stuttering increases with screen resolution reguardless of vram usage and settings.. (look around if you do not know what I mean)

QUOTE
PC supports a number of advanced graphical features including SSAO, light scattering, high dynamic range motion blur, high resolution textures, advanced specular lighting models, headlight shadow casting, enhanced VFX quality, and enhanced shadow quality levels. We also scale geometry detail and level of detail switching according to screen resolution .

Why!?!

Hopefully they patch it out, GTA 4 had a similarly stupid setup as well on launch, but they thankfully removed it since it was really dumb.

I hope so.. but I kind of doubt they'll patch it, didn't criterion say they're moving away from racing games? I still kind of want to finish at least one race in this game, haven't done any because of how irritating the stutter is. All I've done in it is drive around in freeroam until I'm tired of the stutter discovering cars and driving them around as the vehicle sounds in this game are just amazing. inlove.gif

I really hope they don't leave it as/is.

They did tell me that 512MB GDDR5 video memory is too slow and not enough to handle the game at even 800x600 minimum settings, despite the fact that I can run it mostly maxed out @ 1680x1050 with the same damn framerate! And it stutters the same regardless of settings.

I really don't know how Criteron f*cked this up so bad.

I don't know either, I had my doubts on the new hot pursuit they made watching gameplay videos but after I played it I was hooked... and it ran silky smooth on max settings 1920x1080, so I was expecting the same with the new most wanted. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. confused.gif
