no, screw casual

in casual, noobs always do stupid things on your team, but you can't actually get angry at them since they only bought the game yesterday. i only go to casual to warmup

Competitive is exactly the same unless you play for 20000 hours to get to a reasonable rank where people stop being dumb, deaf and blind idiots.

No rank in matchmaking is immune from some of idiocy. The best competitive experiences are through ESEA and Faceit, IMO.

Also, player and team stickers now available. Gonna post my fantasy team in a bit.

I feel like sh*t when I play, even though I'm only in casual. I always f*ck up some how and cause the team to lose. There's no way I'm ready to play comp. with my current skill level.

Playing casual won't help, it's a completely different ball game. Just play competitive, get put into a skill group and you'll slowly improve over time.

Competitive is exactly the same unless you play for 20000 hours to get to a reasonable rank where people stop being dumb, deaf and blind idiots.

Well that really isn't true.. once you're into MGE which takes most people 200-250 hours to reach, the game isn't too bad.

Not a high enough rank to play comp. I get kicked a lot from teams, even in casual. I couldn't imagine how it'd be in competitive :p

200-250 hours of suffering through competitive (which is frustrating) is much worse than just staying playing casual (which is fun) and the difference really isn't big (except that you don't have to buy Kevlar and Defuse, but to be honest they should've never put on automatic kevlar and kit in Casual).

It's like people who try to convince that scrims are "much more difficult" than pubs in CS:CZ, it was bullsh*t. You'll have less noobs for sure, but the blind, deaf and dumb people that played for a longer time will still be there, usually in even bigger numbers when you're hanging around in the middle of the competitive ladder (since they can't get further than that).

I think the idiocy of players starts reasonably high, then climbs up to a peak, then drops dramatically as you get past the middle ranks.

Well if you're good at the game, getting your first rank in competitive should be MG2-MGE, the majority of players are new to CS so it generally took them a lot longer to get there.

The difference between Casual and Competitive isn't simply you don't have to buy Kevlar, Helmet and a Defuse Kit. Casual is 10v10, which the maps really aren't designed for. People take casual a lot more casual, it's in the name. People generally just rush sites in casual and hope for the best. The economy in casual is a lot more simple to understand, you really don't know if the enemy team is doing an eco round or not since it's practically guaranteed some will buy.

I really don't see how anyone can find casual fun. The lack of skill groups and having something to actually work and defend for, just makes CS a bland shooter, especially in a 10v10 environment with most of the things that make CS unique stripped down for beginners.

I don't know why casual is 10v10 instead of 5v5 as it probably should be but it is absolutely fun at times. If I'm not in the mood to try, or otherwise just want to unwind, I'll queue up casual. Sometimes you get lucky and land in a server with a bunch of fun people on mics, good times.

And when I'm in the mood for something a little more serious (competitive), I'll just queue up on ESEA or Faceit and avoid Valve's sh*tty comp MM. :p

i wish there was an unranked comp where you can join/leave freely and your ranks are unaffected.

There is Community Competitive. It has the same amount of rounds, number of players and everything else like Matchmaking. Only, you don't get XP, I believe.

That and you lack the skill groups used to make "balanced matches", and the XP system is limited to Valve servers.

So, Dreamhack Cluj is over now and EnVyUs have been crowned deserved (IMO) winners; their first CSGO major victory taking the next step from their runner up finish at ESL One Cologne. Bit of an odd tournament really with a lot of results not playing out as expected (I only ended up getting a bronze pickem trophy because of that, lol).

What was everyone's favourite map/match? For me I'd have to say EnVyUs vs G2 on Inferno during the semi-final; a great back and forth with three overtimes. Also quite enjoyed everyone jumping on the NiP hype train after they beat TSM in the quarters (fluke of the century), then Navi turning around and smashing them in the semis (anyone who says guardiaN isn't the best AWPer right now is on some sh*t, lol).

NiP beat TSM? Jesus, that is so disappointing. I might just skip watching that one.

Yeah, it was pretty poor overall for them I'd say - Karrigan got an ace at least (see below). It's a shame because I think an EnVyUs - TSM final would have been more entertaining than EnVyUs - Navi ended up being but oh well.

Tbh, once you hit that point you should probably be waving goodbye to MM anyway and heading over to ESEA/Faceit/Whatever floats your boat.

Edit: (allegedly LE and upwards are pretty notorious for certain things that are likely to send one on a VACation ;P)

Can confirm LE+ does lots of VAC shots. Source: Am LEM and make Russians salty on a daily basis. But at times I choke at the easiest sprays/angles, so that's my tradeoff. ESEA/CEVO/FaceIT are to consider if you have a premade team. Pugging won't get you far on any of the 3. Sure, it can bring some experience since you'll be among other tryhards, buuut it also takes the fun out since everyone's always so reliant on strats. No really, one guy says he'll IGL, everyone but me will agree, his gamesense will be garbage and he makes the wrong calls, which leaves me with rotating to the correct angle by myself, trade one or two and get shut down because they rushed. Well, that's ESEA in a nutshell for the 3 months I played it. Not bothering with it again.

I feel ya.

Reminds me of the typical scenario in matchmaking... "Hey, I'm a real KennyS with the AWP. Give me/buy me an AWP!" and of course they end up being rubbish. Bonus points if they have an AWP (usually not even a dlore) that is named "magic stick".

So, fairly new experience for me tonight mucking about in casual (Yeah yeah :p) with Dirt; a female twitch streamer. We join the server a couple of rounds into the game and she's top fragging, so I think, okay cool decent player. I'm f*cking around cos hey, casual, then I start to notice that the terrorists are feeding her kills, planting the bomb and letting her defuse plus other signs of extreme thirst like apologizing if they accidentally killed her. Worst part is she was encouraging the whole thing too.

Ended up deciding to try, just to throw a wrench into their shenanigans (I felt bad for the lads that weren't in on it). They didn't take too kindly to that and tried to kick me next map :p

At least it was only in casual and not in MM but this sort of sh*t still pisses me off anyway. It's just sad as f*ck and the sort of behaviour that's detrimental to females playing the game in general.

Report them and all of them get banned (I doubt it was a "she's a girl so I'll let her kill me", more like a "I'm streaming, let me kill you all and give away all the positions of your teammates"), that's what I did when someone else did the same thing, we also votekicked them since it was just two of them (one feeder, showed him where everyone was and the guy getting the kills).

I do wish Casual had team damage sometimes.

People either throw for girl streamers, or globals get in their lobby and carry them because of needyness. Meanwhile I sit here with voice_enable 0 and topfrag with pure aim.

I don't like Casual because there tends to be no teamwork and you get hackers.

Competitive is a better experience and it really isn't that hard. You get a lot less nonsense (hackers, feeders, idiots spamming the ISIS theme down the mic and calling me a fascist, kids with P90s who refuse to play in a constructive way) and there's a much better atmosphere.

Ugh CSGO casual has to have one of the most cancerous groups of players I've ever had the displeasure of coming across. Everything Coin said above is right, all these players throwing the game for a nonexistent chance "with" her while everyone else is trying to play the damn game, purposefully scamming the game in the other team's favor every round. She's not even that good a player, ffs....

EU Competitive is just as, if not more cancerous than Casual if  you solo-queue. But there are the few occasional games where you get matched with somewhat decent people, but the odds for that are about as likely as pulling a ST FN Kara Doppler in your next case. And Competitive isn't just as easy, but there's a bit to learn to be a viable player, when it's an even game you won't be able to just run around and 3k with just aim. Aim is not the only aspect, Competitive has a bit of depth, unless the only map you play is dust2.
