How you guys doin? I apologize for being a noob but I'm gettin real excited for GTA 5, I loved San Andreas, my favorite out of all of them. I was just wondering, maybe it's been covered, but I always loved the desert area in SA, how do you guys feel Rockstar will make this area. Will they even put it in the game? Will we see another Area 51 with a little mysterious bar right by it and an abandoned airport? Maybe it's just me but I always thought it was fun to drive around this area at night how do you guys feel about it?

San Andreas was the best GTA by far
GTA V will be situated in the same place as San Andreas was

Thus

There will definately be desert

Why are you guys that sure about a desert? Remember it's not the whole San Andreas And countryside doesn't 100% mean that a desert will Be there.

There just has to be a desert. And it should be MUCH more detailed than in San Andreas. Can't wait to see a re-creation of the Mojave Desert in HD vegetation.

Mojave National Preserve, Imperial Valley, Death Valley, Coachella Valley.. California has 25,000 sq. miles of desert, it'll definately be in the game.

Okay, forget my last comment. And a big desert could be the explanation, Why the Map is gonna Be huge.

I would love flat desert similar to the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Simply for driving at the top possible speed and just dicking around with fast cars.

And with that said, I would love love LOVE if they brought back the car customization, but a bit more detailed.
I would love to build a gasser dragster with huge slicks in the back and a powerful engine.

That would be quite fun for multiplayer free roam, just grab some cars and strat drag racing.

I always loved how it looked at the abandoned airport in the desert at night and at daybreak. I hope they have a lot of that in V. There should be dune buggies and 4-wheelers around areas like that.

the desert will most likely make a return the one feature i'd love them to implement [R* employees, ready your market research machines] a desert with old roads that go for about 20 in game miles and nearing the 15 mile mark or so (Even if you're in a plane) the screen fades to black, you pass out, and wake up in a random location in the city a la tlad/tbogt getting drunk. there could be a conspiracy on the radio and internet about it. same could go for mountains and aircraft too.

I completely agree, the city was nice at first but got boring real quick.

Yes! I really hope that they have a rat rod somewhere in the game, like as a secret vehicle or something. I was really disappointed when the slamvan reappeared in TLAD but it wasn't even a choptop.

Also, am I the only one who thinks they really butchered the desert in San Andreas? It didn't feel big at all, it was based on the Utah desert rather than Nevada or California, and all of the roads were filled to the brim with taxis. Taxis in the middle of what is supposed to be a desert.

Countryside in GTA San Andreas was terrible. It was bland with 2D vegetation, no animals, travellers and things to do. The desert HAS to be based on the Mojave.

the SA desert had some good ideas but was much too basic. if we get some badlands (rough mountainy terrain) and some flat desert, i could die happy

Agreed. The road barely seems like it even has pavement in it
