I'm not american, but I've been there, anyway keep reading: what I did before visiting the USA, and I still do haha, is looking in the Google Street View, it helps smile.gif

The traffic varies depends the city I'd say, but in most there are too many european and japanese cars, however Detroit has almost only american cars of almost all ages, even muscle cars...

I'd say in New York most that are are Lincoln Town Cars, Suburbans and Escalades, and Ford E-series and Chevy/GMC vans. Ford Crown and Ford Escape taxis and there are also many Nissan Altima/Sentra and toyota camry, bmw and Hondas. There are also Cadillac DTS, Chrysler and Toyota vans...

Check out the Street View: New York

Detroit:
Detroit

So for a more present day city I think you should take a look to New York, or other american city, but if you want to include more age only american cars, Detroit.

I'm originally from New York and I would say that one of the best cars to put on the Primo would be Bigfoot2003's Cadillac DTS. It slightly resembles the Primo and when you get into areas of New York City, like RoadRunner71 said, they can be common.

very good idea roadrunner . i'm surprised to see how much Lincoln there are in NY . but as there are no nice Lincoln model out there , the DTS will do it nice . i used a soft to modify the original handling . the engine was too noisy for a Caddy . i added a bit more of drive inertia and a bit more of grip and now it's perfect . i didn't install a muscle car because i like american cars and all the classic (Cuda,Chevelle ...) are already installed user posted image . No problem colgate.gif

Chasez is working on a Town Car sedan and limo, and in some other models like the GMC Savana that will give to the game a great realism touch =)

Scroll down a the page until and you see them wink.gif

If you're still wondering, I suggest that the Caddy DTS is not what you're looking for. You'll see a lot of them in Midtown, for example, and when you hit Jersey for sure, but it's a full-size modern luxury class. It's not the proper opposite number to the Primo, which is supposed to be a slightly older model midsize, kinda-sorta close to an early 90s Mercury Sable or even a Ciera. A good equivalent to try and track down would be the fifth-generation Chevy Malibu. OTOH, good luck finding a model. wink.gif

I think the Town Car is an alright bet, but in the city that's almost exclusively a black car. Sure some people buy oldies for personal wheels just like CVPIs, but you don't see those as much in a lot of Manhattan, although they'd be right at home in Queens and Brooklyn. IMO a LTD Crown Vic would be less of a stretch and there are mods and textures for it out there, like this guy.

BTW and FWIW, the Burrito Frankenstein in the pic is aiming for a middle ground between a Chevy C/K 2500 with a box bed and some kind of Mitsubishi/Hino cab-over-engine truck. The Chevy C/Ks and GMC 3500HD work trucks still abound in cities, including NYC. If you can a model, it would be realistic.

I'd say 2007-nowadays Silverados and its equivalent in GMC, GMC Sierra, and also Ford F-250/350 and 450.
Also, now we have Chasez GMC Savana, the traffic turns much more realistic.

Rural areas of the US have more older model cars and plenty of trucks.. Lots of BIG trucks!! wow.gif I'm originally from outside the US, but live in San Fransisco, CA..

<EDIT> Lots of Japanese cars, mostly older model Honda's that are kind of beat up and made to be these annoying little racers..

Sadly, cause I think the 1985 is a cuter car.

Seems in this case was not only the maintenance, but the model, since 3 of the same brand and similar years can't be just casuality smile.gif

I've heard stories of a Lexus going for 500,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. Like you said, it really just depends on how well the car is taken care of.

You do see older cars sometimes in New York City but not that much, it really just depends on which borough you go in to.

Well, I saw one of them in Times Square, stopped in a crossroad, other in the door of my hotel, near the Empire State, and other parked in a residential area next to one of the expressway that goes to the airport. I also saw many 80s Lincoln Town car parked, and in Harlem two 70s inmense american cars parked, but I couldn't see them better since I was moving in a vehicle. And that was the past year.
