Davy Jones, a member of The Monkeys, is dead, at age 66, because of a massive heart attack.

some of his most notable songs:

My dad told me about his passing earlier this evening. It came as a very big shock, especially since I was just recently getting into listening to songs by The Monkees. sad.gif

Rest In Peace.

Yeah, heard this on Fox news this morning when I got up, he died about 12 hours ago, this morning? Heart attack, age 66

They reported he was on stage on the Ed Sullivan show when the Beatles appeared in 1963, and he decided then and there what he wanted to do!
It's also factoid that David Bowie changed his legal name from David Jones because of the Monkees status and success, not to be confused between the other David Jones

I guess he won't be singing at Marsha's school dance this year.

Sorry to see him go. 66 is too young.

I haven't seen an episode of The Monkeys since back in the day. 20 bucks says they run some on one of those fancy cable channels now.

Ya did good Davy. You were always smiling. Keep smiling.

Gone, but never gotten!

Really shocked to hear of his passing.

I like to think of him happy now! A happiness we will never know of till we get there.

A friend text me about this earlier. I wasn't buying it until we met up later, then I saw her face.

The TV show theme is one of my favorite 'songs' of theirs.
I was taping the segment off Access Hollywood, it was a good one, I'll upload it to YouTube
Said the show debuted in 1966, the year I was born! Ah, good times, those

It's a real shame that Davy Jones has passed. He was a talented musician and, in my opinion, the best member of The Monkees. He will be dearly missed by everyone. Rest in peace.

In the words of his former band mate, Peter Tork...

I know Davy was very happy to be a part of all of this. He wanted nothing more than to be an entertainer. And to help people enjoy time.

Add to that, a month ago he was given a physical and checked out in fine health. As such, his family is really in shock, as we all are.

Found another story, well covered in visuals
