I have an idea.
We are starting from scratch after all and I have been thinking about what we could do before we port the maps to rage.
I have remodeled LC as Rockstar did a piss poor job on the models but I can not forget this was the first city made on the Renderware engine that was loved by millions of gamers.
The current map has been with us since beta 49.0 to 69.0 and I called this map version 5 since we did had other layouts before.
We have a chance here to get things right and remodeled.
Where LC and VC are in about the right place the SA map is still wrong on many levels.
1. I could move the cities to their correct geographical locations.
2. Flip the cites so they appear to look like their real live counter parts.
Did you know Los Veges was flipped - You can tell by looking where the airport is and the issues do not end there, Look at SF, LA, and VC on google maps.
3. VC looks very wrong with parts flipped as Rockstar did not put a lot of detail into this city, this is where I would like to change this.
4. I have 2 cities not added to SOL from 50 States, in a way I do not want to try and recreate all of the USA with all the cities as this would take forever.
I want to recreate all the best pasts with something from each city that stands out like the landmarks and highway system linking the state up.
The old maps have been released with changes from 51.9, however I am having issues uploading these maps.
I still I own it to the community to finish the current layout, I am still working on Midway island, Mainland liberty and the other stuff added by others.
I would like to start completely from scratch and I want to hear what others think about this idea.

I guess that's the fault of SA looking unrealistically square compared to other GTA maps.

The SOL map has been moved tut the scm has not been changed. Can you move all the coordinates to that exact position?
You would have to add + 3044.2 on X axis & -1894 on Y axis!

I'd love being a beta tester, I push every game to its limits, and my GTA-VC CD is coming from ebay in the next few days!
I may try modding in time, but I'd need some coaching to become efficient...

Each person has their own folder where you can upload your own updates.
At the end of every week I will harvest your folders for updates and bug fixes.
The end of every month given there is enough updates I will think about a Public release.
The folders on the dropbox are sync'ed to the ftp server where the team also has access.
If you do not have the ftp access information this can be found on dropbox.

This has to be a clean installed copy of VC from two disks, but I also stated the mod would not work with VC that has been downloaded via Stream.

It is probably not what you need but could you take a look anyway. I will also make a post on the San Andreas modding section of this forum to see if there is a way of hacking the bounds of San Andreas if that is needed to port SOL to San Andreas. I'll report back any information I find.

SOL has 26500 objects so for SOL to work on SA, I would have to reduce or merge some of the objects together.
I am in the process of redoing all the ID's so there might be hope, but I'd rather find a way to hack the ID, IDE and IPL object limits.
