General Rules

G TAF Gang League 2012 is a competition between all Un-Official Gangs(MP), on various systems and various game modes during 2012.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    GL 2012 ends on 27.12.2012 and then the winner is announced, and all the awards are given.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    GC 2012 is a new sub-event added in 2012 to the GL. It's matches will start on October 2st 2012, and will end on November 27th, 2012. All info about the sub-event can be found in the second post of the GL topic.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Victory in a match earns 2 points, a draw gives 1 point to both gangs, and a defeat gives 0 points. You must play 2 rounds, otherwise, the match won't count.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Based on the results during the year, the awards are handed to the best in each mode, and overall, so it is very important to provide screen-shots of the matches.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    If all of the matches of a certain fixture are completed before the deadline, next fixture will automatically start, giving the gangs more time to arrange those matches.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Any form of cheating is not allowed. Whether it is the abuse of the rules, usage of turbo controllers, freezing games, speed hacks and any other mods that exist. If any of such occurs, the other gang will get an auto 0:2 win no matter what the original result was.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    If a gang closes, and then reopens under a new name and enters GL back, results from the old gang name and theme cannot be retained.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    If the gangs have the same number of points in the end of GL, final position is decided by a) Matches with that gang b) Less defeats c) More wins and/or draws, d) Race Tie-Breakers on IV, LaD and BoGT for additional 0.5 points(settings below).
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Final date for applications of new gangs is October 1st, 2012. Gangs that wish to join GL after that date will have to wait for 2013 GL. Until then, any gang can join any division, unless the division is full, full in a way that there won't be time for a new gang to finish their matches.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Each system league can have a maximum of 6 gangs competing for GL 2012, as more won't be possible to finish with the time stamp. If a system has 1 gang at the end of the year, that 1 gang will get 1 win and become the winner of that system.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Gangs that close down during 2012 will keep their w-d-l ratio, but all their results with other gangs are erased, and they will be put to the last places of the league with 0 points, same as with the 2011 GL.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________


    Match Rules

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    League Matches can be organized via the GL topic, the PM system, or via chat in the gangs' threads. However, for a match to be counted as a GL match, you must post in the GL topic exactly when the match is happening, and that you want to organize the match, as well as post screens-shots only, of the results.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    If one gang clearly wants to play, and the other doesn't reply at all, the gang wanting to play will get a 2:0 win.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    If both gangs do not show interest in doing their match, and it ends up incomplete in it's scheduled time, gangs will get a 0:0 draw out of it, and 0 points each for it, and will also be unable to organize the match at a later date. If more of such situations occur, that gang will be subject to possible disqualification.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Banned members can't take part in matches. If one was found playing, the result of that match will be changed to 0:2 for the opposing team no matter what the original result was. Same goes to members who don't have GTAF accounts, or are on the gang roster, but without a GTAF account.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Before each fixture, gangs will have to notify the event host of any potential roster changes. If a gang brings a new player who joined (eg. 2 days before the match, or 2 weeks before the match) the player will be ineligible to play for them.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    If the gangs have agreed on a date and time, 24 hours before the match is to happen, during the given dates for that fixture to be played, and one of them doesn't show up, or doesn't have at least 2 players, the win goes to the other gang that had enough.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Buzzards, and Annihilator with explosive rounds are not allowed in EFLC matches. Any abuse of them will be punished by invalidating the results, and a win will be given to the abused gang.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Annihilator in IV is allowed. However, each gang must have no more then 1 pilot in air. And also, both gangs should agree before the match whether they will both use 1 pilot, or will their round be a ground fight only.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Allies are not allowed to help gangs in matches, because it could result in sabotage. You must play only with your own gang members.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Every match should be played with max 8 players on each side, and a minimum of 2 players on each side to start it. The more players, the more intense it can get though.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Match can be ended with a player less if near the end(second half of the round the earliest), a player walks away, or loses internet connection. Matches 8 on 7, 7 on 6, 6 on 5, 5 on 4, 4 on 3 and 3 on 2 can be played if the team with the lower number of players agrees to continue. It would be preferred to play with the same number of players on both sides though. 2 vs 1 is not allowed. If a round ends in an equal score for both gangs, additional Race will determine the winner of the round, with it's Settings below. Whoever gets 1st place, his gang wins that round. Win by any means possible, which means one player can race, and the other 2 can block/kill/hunt/whatever opposing gang members.

General Rules

G TAF Gang Cup 2012 is a sub-competition between all Un-Official Gangs(MP), on various systems and various game modes during 2012.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    GC 2012 is a new sub-event added in 2012 to the GL. It's matches will start on October 2nd 2012, and will end on November 27th, 2012, when the winner is announced and awards given.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    By default, 4 gangs from each system compete for the win, but number of each system gangs may vary depending on the amount of alive gangs on that system, and that, will determine whether the Cup for a certain system starts from 1/2 Final or Final.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Taking screen-shots of the matches is very important for the awards, so during your games, please share the scores in the topic upon finishing
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    A suggestion, to be able to easily meet up with the dates for completing the matches, is to either play all 9 matches in 1 sitting, or split into 2 meets, one by 4 matches(EFLC), the other by 5 matches(IV), or meet 3 times with a gang doing 3 modes out of 9 each. Order of the modes isn't important
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Gang advancing to the next round is the one with most wins. Each win gives a point. Out of 9 GTA modes, gang who won most in the series will advance to the next round, and/or win the Cup. On 360, due to problems with EFLC games, only 5 GTA modes will be for the cup, and the winner of most advances to the next round.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Each round(1/2 Final or Final), will have a special setting for each of the 9 GTA modes. There will only be 1 match on each mode, using the given settings. Settings will be added and confirmed with gangs taking part until the event begins.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

    Gangs that closed during the year, but started out in the GL will obviously not enter the Cup.

There, finally done! Took me 3 hours, maybe even more...but it's finally done happy.gif

As you can see, i've launched a 2 month sub-event to the league, that is the gang cup 2012.
I got this idea back in November when aj wanted to make a similar event. He kind of given up on launching it, and his idea would also accept external gangs and members and was to be of a different format then this, and that's where the ideas split 2 separate ways. I wanted to make a small addition to GL 2012, for extra activity and entertainment, in form of a cup hence why it's only 2 months long, i wasn't planning on starting a new topic, and i won't,. In case aj decides to make the PS3 Gang Cup, don't be confused, they will be/are two different and separate events.

For the league, lots of things have been changed, i would like to have a similar format like the cup, BUT we'll see. Basically in that format, each gang gets 1 home game on (IV) TDM, TMF, TW, TCJC, CNC, (LaD) TDM, Own the city, Witness protection, (BoGT) TDM against every gang.
Of course, this format would require a yearly calendar of matches, and scheduled GL matches every 2-3 weeks, which is better, as there won't be no room for calculations, and stuff that happened in GL 2011.
However, let me first see how many new gangs each of the leagues will have, then we'll all decide what to do.

So now, all the suggestions you all proposed near the end of GL 2011, start repeating them, i'm all ears now.
I want to deal with the applications of new gangs, and finalize these ''basic'' rules people suggest, and hopefully by February 1st 2012, we can start off League matches, or even earlier.

So yeah, let the games begin!

Nice work Andy in getting this all together for another year.I have one suggestion. "20 mins matches are perfect for all games modes.5k for TMW is not a fair amount as "luck of the spawn" can see a team hit 2k in the first mission.Could I suggest that it increased to 7.5k then there is still 5k to play for even if a team gets lucky with the mission spawn.Its a better test between the gangs anyway as playing to 5 just feels like a warm up.

Some questions.
In order to gain the 2 points for the win you need to play 9 matches in 9 modes at home?
Then to gain other 2 points you need to play 9 matches in 9 modes away?
It's a best of 9?

Nah, not like that, that's too harsh haha.

1 match = 2 points, so 9 matches x 2 points = 18 points, if all won, against 1 gang.

If we did 9 home and 9 away matches with every gang, it would be too much and we won't be able to make it, what i had in mind is 1 match in which 1 home 1 away round, each worth 1 point, for a total of 2, if both rounds are won, then 8 more by the same Principe.

Of course, it's still WIP, if there are a lot of gangs, we may not be able to do that, and instead, revert back to the 2011 system, but to just double or triple the amour of matches.

But we'll see, it all depends on how much gangs there are.

If we did 9 home and 9 away matches with every gang, it would be too much and we won't be able to make it, what i had in mind is 1 match in which 1 home 1 away round, each worth 1 point, for a total of 2, if both rounds are won, then 8 more by the same Principe.

So it's 10 matches with each gang but in 9 modes...
Who decides the settings for the other 8 matches and who decides who's at home an and who's away in those 8 matches?
I know it's a WIP, sorry, but it's still unclear.

No, 9 matches with each gang, so if 4 PS3 gangs, then total of 36 matches for 1 gang in the league.

Basically, the idea is like this:

Fixture 1 xx.xx.2012

Y-D12 TDM (if the match says Y first, then we choose round 1 setting, and D12 choose round 2 setting)
Damned-SRS TDM BoGT(here Damned chooses round 1 setting, srs round 2

Fixture 2 xx.xx.2012

SRS-Y TW
D12-SRS TDM

Fixture 3

D12-Y TMW (In here D12 chooses round 1 setting, Y would choose round 2 setting)
SRS-Damned TDM

etc

It looks a bit confusing, but when you finally manage to understand it, it'll be all very clear.





Of course, like i said, still WIP. If this ends up being a lot of matches, then we'll just revert to having home and away matches x 2 round, like in GL 2011, maybe doubling it.

Good job Andy,

Glad to see some good improvements made, splitting the leagues by console is finally done ! Also good to see the settings improved, but I think the duration settings should be more optional / dependent on the mode chosen or players available.

Also happy to see this Gang Cup idea being brought to life, I did consider the idea last year, because the Damned wanted more games, so hopefully all is a success.

I'm waiting to hear some of EL FUGA's ideas, see if docrikowski is going to set up a Gang Championship also. Hopefully more PS3 gang's will also register too smile.gif Look forward to seeing this event being a clear success this year.

I think the concept is good though and like the cup idea smile.gif I think you should try and aim for no more than 2 matches a month though (24 games) icon14.gif

No offense to you Andy and all the work you put in but BCF would like to have our name removed from Gang League. The idea and everything about it really has no interests or relevance in our minds. The way we see it is if people want to have a friendly series of games with us then they can feel free to stop by and say hi.

However if docrikowski goes through with what he said in the 2011 GL thread about making his own and all the changes we might join that. To be quite honest I'm curious to see how that one would turn out.

It is not clear to me what the "Home" and "Away" games should be. Do we need to play every mode twice on every episode? So if there's 4 PS3 gangs (like you said in your previous example), then each PS3 gang needs to play 9 x 2 rounds against each of the 3 other gangs, which brings the total of rounds to 54? And then there's the Gang Cup to add to that?
You also need to consider the fact that we have compatibility issues on TLAD on the Xbox 360. People that have the DLC cannot play with people that have the disc version. This can and will seriously obstruct our ability to arrange matches.
Jedi's suggestion: stick to IV (we're also not in favor of incorporating races, some of the modes require enough driving as it is.).
Sweaty's suggestion: stick to TDM (on IV). Have a Home and an Away round, but add up the scores to determine the winner (this also means that the rounds should have the same length/money limit).

More suggestions:

- To tackle the problem of gangs avoiding matches to deny competitors points, a gang should only be eligible to win the League if it has played ALL of their matches.

- A time frame of two months for each encounter should be set. For example, all the rounds between two teams must be played in March and/or April. A suggestion for a date AND time should be answered with another within a week. If a team fails to counter a suggestion within that time frame and the match hasn't taken place by the end of April, that team loses by forfeit. If counter-suggestions were made on time, each time, by both teams and the match still hasn't taken place by the end of April, the team that made the first attempt to arrange a match by suggesting a date and time gets the win. In other words, the responsibility for the match happening falls on the team that didn't take first initiative.

- Get someone to help you out with this. At least for the Xbox side. More people can do more, especially considering the huge amount of other responsibilities you have taken on all over the forums. This will mean making a shared event account and posting a new topic with it.


We'd also like to point out that we haven't officially signed up. We know this is a work in progress, but as it is now, we don't feel comfortable participating. Our participation depends on how (much) you change the existing rules and structure, if Doc goes forward with his event (and obviously what it will look like compared to this) and if we can combine the two or not.

There aint enough driving. Theres plently of shooting and killing. I dont see a problem.

It would be a shame to let the chance of us playing probably the best arcade racer out since 2008 to go amiss.

I do agree it would bring variety and the racers of a clan would get more of a chance to show their worth. Maybe races instead of another mode? I think that maybe there will be too many modes to play, otherwise.

I agree with Jedi I would not like to see races.Also I think TDM on the islands should not be allowed. If gangs want to play TDM fair enough but having it on the islands with only assualt rifles is very lazy and noobish.It should be a test of a gangs complete ability not just cherry picking the modes that suit. Im up for anything except races and TDM assault rifles on the islands.
