Edit, I did not see the page count on this thread, So my post is a little to late.

I can see there has been some progress into getting old mods working on the mobile versions and that is very cool as I can see the engine can handle RW 3.0 to 3.4 textures.

but what I could try and do is break some limits. (SOL could do well on the Iphone or Android.)

Looking for the binary for my Galaxy note.

I have been looking at the files since I got GTAIII 10YA. (Android) 2 days ago.

There are a lot of nice fixes, and texture lighting changes to the map, updated textures.

They still missed a lot of bugs with the models starting off from the first cut scene on the bridge.

Now for reasons beyond my understanding why in the hell did R change the texture RW versions to 3.4.0.4 (1005FFFF)

I do not have the same file layout as the Iphone.

Audio/
I just have the sfx.raw file.

No radio data unless it got stored elsewhere and I have noticed no sound in game.

Data/
Shows pretty much the same except this layout is more for the VC engine.

Oh and the SCM files, ZONs and timecyc.dat

Data/Maps

Extra files -
Multi1 - Multi5 folders?

And the blahname.a3d /dir file in every map folder like temppart.a3d /dir

Data/Paths - Look unchanged.

Data_etc/ has the same file layout with empty folders.

Models/

Just going to list them, no point babbling on about these, none of the txd's can be opened except 3 - particle.txd, menu.txd and hud.txd

So there is no way to make complex TXD editor for III Mobile? Maybe someone can try to do this, we'll have better start for upcoming VC Mobile.

Sounds good. If you get a good amount of progress
make a thread about the mod? That way more people notice it
and contribute to it.
Not everyone knows your porting the vc map to 3 mobile
so at least if you make a thread people will know.

No one will be interested of porting VC map into III Mobile. There is no TXD editor with support of 3.4.0.5 version. Maybe there is some limitations like too small streaming memory, ID limit etc.
I tried to do this, but after 20 models ingame, game seems to be unstable and I need 30 times to load it without crash on loading screen. Maybe with some peoples, who knows Renderware structure (research TXD, DFF) mod have chance to be continued.

As I said in the first post, the game will load PC textures just fine.

Hey guys, I'm running GTA III on my HTC EVO 3D running ICS 4.0

The directory files seem to be about the same for me as the iPhones with a few small differences. The audio files are .nfx. These are playable audio files, I use the Astro File Manager to install my mods so I went into the audio and clicked on the .nfx file and told it to treat it as an audio file and whala! It opened and played them. If someone could create android apps that do what IMG editors and Other nodding programs do on the pc I wouldn't even need to sideload other mods. I don't think it would be that hard to create an app that opens IMG archives and edit them. Would be awesome. Anyone know how to change the radio station names? I changed the nfx for a few stations to GTA IV Radio Stations.

Has anyone figured out how to get the fog back in this version of the game, running it on my Ipad 3, and so framerate isn't an issue, but I miss the misty feel of the PS2/PC versions of the game?

Is here any experienced Android C++ developer?
I created a IMG class in C++.
Works with IMG archives of version 1 (GTA III, GTA VC) and version 2 (GTA SA).
IMG archives up to 8 TB (yes, 8 terabytes).
But am not Android developer yet.
For someone who is able to make an Android file manager it should be fairly easy integrate this IMG class and create/modify IMG archives.

Hey there,
I wonder if someone has managed to replace main character model with other models from pc/mobile versions of the game? I tried to export/import them but game stuck on loading. So, is there a way to do it so far?

If you have PC version of III, you can replace all models from IPhone to models from PC.

We should have to get a vice city mod for the IOS version cloud someone create a mod to it, or is it posseble to copy some files from the vice city files of the pc?

Ive got some radio files modded, I put some new radio intro the mobile game, there are two ways to install it.
1st. install via ios, that means without using the pc. Download the files to iFile, then you unrar it, next you copy that radio files intro to your gta3 app. Its works only on ios, I will try to create one for the android. to install is copy the file to this: var/mobile/application/gta3/gta3.app, if you on this network of your gta then tick edit and paste it there, when its copyed and paste sucessfully then press on done, exit iFile and run the game, select the radio stations. Enjoy
2nd, download iFunbox, go to the apps copy the radio files to the gta3.app

(NOTE REBOOT YOUR IDEVICE BEFORE YOU RUNNING THE GAME, THE GAME CLOUD BE CRASHED)
(IF YOU ARE ON ANDROID DO NOT DO THIS ON YOUR DEVICE, IF YOU COPYED TO YOUR ANDROID YOUR GAME CAN BE CRASHED EVERYTIME.)

why do you not ask the file why they crashed, ive mofided the radio in dance radios, and ive mofided the weather and the gangs.

I'd hate to bump an old thread, but does anyone have that gta3.set file that was provided in the quote above? The link is dead and I used to have it but after flashing a new rom I've lost all my data.

It was the only gta3.set that had no lag whatsoever for my Xperia Play.

Hey there, I removed that file from my Server sad.gif
And I already have a new phone - without GTA3. So i don't have that original file from my SD-Card. But I found some on my computer - maybe one of them is the one I uploaded?
